  1. we had our interview here in LA yesterday. we were just asked to provide the necessary documents.. joint accounts, photos, ead, ap, etc. surprisingly, we weren't asked questions. the only thing i remember was he asked me if i am working now and i said yes and gave him the name of the employer and date of employment. that's it. i guess he was satisfied with the proofs.

before we left, he just informed us that my 2nd fingerprint was rejected again. i didnt get an rfe for this before the interview. he asked me to send him a clearance letter from the LA sheriff dept within 30 days. i am assuming i will be approved as soon as i give him this letter.

by the way, i didnt include an I-693 in my package, just the vaccination supplement. just to be sure, i brought my I-693 with me but he didnt ask for it.

  2. sorry for the wrong info i gave before. i just had my aos interview yesterday. the interviewer informed me that my 2nd fingerprint was rejected(no rfe was sent to me before) and asked me to submit a clearance letter from the LA sheriff dept within 30 days. i guess i will be approved as soon as i submit that letter.

we tried to call nearby police/sheriff stations but we were informed to go to Norwalk sheriff station because it's the only one that provides clearance letter for uscis. quite a hassle.

  3. this happened to me too. my fingerprints dont show distinct lines. dont worry, uscis can only ask you to retake the fingerprints for the 2nd time. if after that the fingerprints are still rejected, they will request the fbi to do a name check instead. i thought this problem would delay my case, but surprisingly it did not. the ead, ap and aos interview schedule came just in time. i read in the fbi website that they prioritize uscis over other clients with regard to fingerprint clearance.

  4. thanks for posting this. i called a couple of civil surgeons asking how much they charge for transcribing the vaccination report to I-693. I found one charging $50. Most of them charge $140-195! Some say it's their price with or without the full medical, some would demand that they do the full medical or else the form wont be signed. Im not sure if these doctors simply dont know the process... or if they're doing this on purpose so they can get as much money as they can!

  5. Did you look at the USCIS locator? https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV

Make sure you call around, the cost can very by a lot. We paid $70 to get the form filled out and a tetanus shot Claudeth needed.

yes i checked the civil surgeon locator. I was just hoping to get some feedback if ever some people have been to doctors in LA area, so I can have an idea which doctor I should go to or avoid. thanks so much for the reply though. :luv: I got complete vaccinations and medical exam last july, so hopefully it would be cheaper since all i need is a doctor to transcribe the form.

  6. i need a civil surgeon to fill out my I-693 vaccination part. do you any recommended doctors in LA area? i read before that there are a lot of doctors forcing people to take the full medical again so they will end up paying more. i dont need another physical exam nor additional vaccines. just someone to fill out the vaccination part and sign. it would be helpful too if you could tell me how much it normally costs. thanks a lot in advance to those who will reply.

  7. my fingerprints were taken last dec 5. but uscis sent a notice today that fbi was unable to process it, my fingerprints are really really light. anyway, they rescheduled my 2nd fingerprinting on january 6.

anybody got the same experience? you think this will delay the process? had my noa1 on nov 7... i was really hoping to get my work permit this january but i guess i wont.. :(

  8. I'm afraid that our papers will be rejected as well. I sent mine the same date as yours and 'til now I haven't received or heard anything from USCIS. I'm freaking out right now! Anyways, I've read one of the posted message incurred same problem as yours. But, I wanted to tell you that sometimes rejection has nothing to do with incorrect fees instead it is because of the wrong information that being filled in the application forms. There was one person has received a rejection letter because of the incoorect fees. He went for infopass and later figured that the reason for rejection was wrong date of birth.

yup i saw that post too. i think i read 2 cases of this already and they incorrectly wrote 2008 as year of birth, so uscis automatically gave them a wrong fee notice because biometrics fee should not be included for people below a certain age.

we used 1 check only with $1010 amount and had no problems with it.

    goodluck!

  10. still waiting for the NOA for my AOS, EAD, AP applications.

    applied: 10/31

delivered: 11/04 - confirmed online through fed.ex website.

when do u think i will receive the NOA?

    just wondering...

im asking the same question... mailed my application oct 28, delivered to chicago on nov 2 accdg to usps, and until now i dont have my noa yet. though im hoping it will come soon coz my husband said the check was already cashed yesterday.

hope yours will come soon as well! goodluck!

  11. hi, we also had one check for $1010.

i mailed my application last oct 28, im still waiting for my noa1. our cover letter is basically the same, except that i didnt include an I-693. im not sure but i think i read that medical exams done after aug 1 2008 are required to have the new I-693 and i had mine done in july. oh well, if not, im ready for an rfe hehe

goodluck on your application! hope everything runs smooth for us all!

  12. thanks so much to those who replied!

i called the county where we got married to ask if i can pick it up. they said i can request and pay another fee for the marriage certificate and they can print it right away IF it's already in their system. why didnt they tell it to us before? now we end up paying twice. oh well, hopefully it's in the system when i go there so i wont waste time. and the original request that we made will still be delivered in 6-8 weeks.

    thanks again everyone. God bless.

  13. just NEVER use Manila Forwarder. I had my things shipped from manila to US, and the service was terrible. Delivery was delayed, staff was rude, and my boxes were ruined! good thing i protected my stuff with plastics and additional small boxes inside, but still few things were broken.

cant comment on other shipping companies, im just warning you about manila forwarder.

  14. i entered US via fiancee visa. we recently got married in LA and we got a "license and certificate of marriage" which says CUSTOMER COPY. we also requested and paid for our marriage to be recorded and they said a certified copy of marriage certificate will be delivered in 6-8 WEEKS.

however, i really want to apply for AOS soon, 6-8 weeks is too long. my question is, can i submit a customer copy of marriage certificate instead of the certified one? the AOS instruction just says submit a copy of marriage certificate.

for those who have submitted a customer copy of marriage certificate, did you get an RFE for that or was it accepted? i would greatly appreciate your response. thank you!
