dbears, how is everything going with your medical?Aside from it being sooo expensive ($785 total
), the medical went fine. Submitted it at the local USCIS last week and today got the online update: CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED July 1, 2009(finally my case can be found after 7months)... well, the update was only for my case but I have faith that the same applies to my 2 kids' applications also.Based on the updates here, it seems the card production is on track now so, I am hoping to receive our cards within this week or next week.
I called them and they will send a request to get that mail again. Hopefully it won't delay anything! grrrI certainly hope, they did not mess up anything and that you will receive your card soonest. (((HUGS)))

i also got the stamp the other day!
just like LeaandBen (whose interview is alo in seattle), the card itself would be sent a little bit longer than usual because of the changes. the very next day after my approval, we went to canada to celebrate! during our return to the us, the customs officer teased me, "they let you go to canada just because you're an lpr now? so now i have to let you back in?"

Janess and Roland passed interview today and she had her I 551 stamp, green card to follow....see you all in two years!

Today we got our interview date. Finally.
No EAD yet. We received a request for information on the EAD. Hopefully won't take too much longer to resolve

I had to send additional information because of an error on our I-175. The birth date was incorrect. How much longer will this RFE cost me? How much more time? anyone have this experience?

having problems understanding the drivers license requirements. she arrived in september, married in december, went to get DL today, Feb 2.
North Carolina DMV....they are not sure that they can give her one.
.....so they copied all her documents and sent them to the mother ship in Raleigh, NC.ANYONE know what's needed to get the drivers permit, or temp permit to drive?
One more governmental stall.
Our AOS paperwork sent about one week ago, so that is done as well..

It will vary from state to state. If the state subscribes to the Real ID Act, the Driver's License/ID Card will be issued for the term of the document authorizing the alien to legally stay in the US. In your case, the EAD will be required, and the state ID will expire when the EAD expires. When you receive your conditional green card, then you can renew the state ID to expire when the green card expires, etc. California, and most states will copy the documents you provide them and submit them to the state legal department for verification with the DHS/USCIS. The verification can take up to two months. In the meantime, you may be issued a "non-verified" temporary Driver's License/ID Card.

I think i understand. The examiner or DMV employee, i believe, was confused as his written instructions called out a NOA with no end date. I am not sure what to do now. I believe that the EAD, once received, will be the ticket. She has studied the DMV book, i just want to get her driving so that then her EAD arrived, we are ready to look for employment.
