  1. To sj soulm8ts: It's H Mart in Maryland. It's just about 30mins drive from where we live. Murag daghan man cguro sila outlet all over the country. Their fruits are cheaper compared to other grocery stores.

I see..Yep that's true! They have a lot fresher and wide variety of goods there! Youre lucky you don't have the long drive to get there!Kami almost 2hrs! :(

WOW! It's official at last! BIG CONGRATS Steve&Tiff!

    Thank you thank you.........

I think thru this whole thing, I became more emotional than Tiff herself. I never should have waited all these years to marry her. I keep thinking, if I married her years ago, she'd be a citizen by now, and all her brothers and sisters would have a petition filed for them too.

And again, good luck to all of you. I sincerely hope that you have a troublefree process such as we did.

Your welcome! And thank you! Hoping for me and everyone here that we will have our AOS approval soon too!

I Can only agree with dBears! There's the right time for everything, I think. We may have our preferred own timeline, but sometimes it just won't happen the way we want it... like dbears has mentioned, everything happens for a reason- a significant reason we may just know and realize why at some point in time. One thing for Sure though, you are blessed with each other all the time!!!(F)

  2. It's been quite a while that i haven't logged in to visa journey, and I'm glad to see all the progress of the AOS applications for the January filers!

Congrats to all who got their,AP,EAD and to our first AOS approval( Steve&Tiff)! It's nice to hear all of such good news about everyone's AOS!

And to add to the good news, we got my AP approval notice last week. And according to USCIS website, my EAD approval notice is up on its way to our mailbox since March 25! Hopefully we will receive it soon! I'm so getting bored of staying home all the time, it's about time to get some work and earn some bucks haha!:jest: CONGRATS again to y'all!

Congrats on the AP and the EAD!!! muuli ka? dalai ko durian if your planning to go home to davao ha. Miss yah!.

BTW, unsay date sa imong AP so we could include it on the list. thx

Thank You Gay! Although initial purpose for applying AP has already forgone (my sis wedding was last week on March 21,got my AP on the same day March 21,a"lil" too late! :crying:) But at least I tried. Sometimes things just dont happen the way we want it. Kamo, nus-a inyo plan mouli pohon?

Mmmm.... durian! Speaking of durian, I saw some in H Mart. I wonder if it tastes the same like the ones in Davao... Asa inyo sa Davao Gay?

We're from Tagum, Davao del Norte... I also saw some durian in the asian store near here but it was soooo expensive and It don't have the distinct durian smell (though it's still has shell). I doubt if it will taste the same as our durian in Davao.

sj_soulm8ts: We still don't have any plans of going back to Davao, might be after we get the 10 year GC. :(

Yea we dont have plan to go back so soon either, considering the plane ticket's prices nowadays :crying:

Cge lng somehow, sometime makauli ra lagi ta ani, in God's time! Thank You for updating the list for me Gay (F)

Have a nice weekend to everyone!

  5. LUKE 11:9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

    11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;

12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

  6. Finally, after a month of stressing out, we received our Biometrics appointment letter. It will be march 16, so much later than most of you but I am so happy at least they have not forgotten about us. I am indeed praising God for this.:dance::dance:

I hope the remaining january filers who have not received biometrics appt letters will soon receive theirs soon. God bless everyone.

Updated to include our bio appointment and to include she's NOA1 date.

  7. Just an update on our AOS process: I just had my biometrics done today. As soon as we arrived in the local office in Charlotte,

identification was done, asked to fill up a piece of paper, submitted it to the counter afterwards,

got a qeue number, sat and waited for 10 minutes till my number was being called, then fingerprints and picture were taken.

T'was quick and easy! The only thing we have to struggle was waking up early to be there on time  ,LOL!

hehe nice! how early in advance did you get there? 15min before your appointment time? is that enough?

We got to our appointment fairly early. 15 minutes prior to the schedule should be good enough to get through the process.

  10. Brilliant, dbears!

Hello all! About to file my AOS and have all the paper work together except for one thing... the I-693.

I did the full medical within the last year 09/30/2008 and I have a copy of the vaccination worksheet (DS-3025) which is complete and will be included with the AOS. It seems like a waste of money to have someone transcribe what is already written and completed. When I entered at the POE, LAX, I saw that the immigration official already had my DS-3025 in the yellow envelope I provided him so I know that USCIS will have it.

So the question is: how many of you included just the DS-3025 and how many of you had it transcribed to the I-693?

    thanks :)

I've just included the DS-3025. If I get a RFE, I'll deal with it as and when it comes. I didn't want to delay filing any more, though, plus saving money is always a bonus!

We kinda have the same situations, got my SSN in my maiden name too (when we applied for SSN we didnt have the marriage license yet) and filled all the forms with married name of course; applied for AP as well- a local Immigration personnel adviced us to get one just in case for emergency and since it doesnt demand for any extra costs; my vaccination is somehow incomplete as well coz I still need to have a follow-up shot for Tdap vaccine. Nevertheless, we got our NOA less than 2weeks after the submission, and the biometric appointment letter short after NOA. Seem like it is going smooth so far, so I'd guess you will also be getting your NOA w/o RFE. And hopefully it stays RFE-free for the remaining part of our AOS journeys! Anyways, wish you an easy & fast process!

Awesome, thank you so much for this post. Really helped put my mind at ease!

Your welcome! I'm glad I could help.

im taking classes at my local community college and im considered a full time student (13-18 credits) my tuition this last quarter for all online classes was $1056. its not a bad deal if you can afford the money and have the time to put to class. if you want to go to a technical school i know some are cheaper than colleges. what are you planning on studying?

i initially wanted to get a second degree in accounting but the tuition is too high for a non-citizen in most of the universities around. so i also checked a community college and found a technical certificate that i like (i think it's called office accounting of some sort) which should do for now. i figured i could take one class at a time just like you do. but a 5-credit course costs more than $400 already. with the recent aos expenses, i don't think i can't even afford one class! i have all the time, not just the money! i wish our ead's get processed soon.

Yep, I could only agree to that! I, too, wished to be doing some schooling while waiting for the greencard, but this AOS process really burned our $$$ even to the last penny! :crying:

But let's keep our hopes up,somehow, sometime soon we will have our start! Good luck to all of us! God bless!

    Wow, so fast!

    Wow, so fast!

We mailed our AOS package today. Time to relax and wait.

Welcome to the Januaryfilers! Wish you a speedy journey!

  12. Our AOS packet is finally sealed and ready to be posted later today. :)

There are a couple of things I'm not sure about, but I'd rather risk a RFE than delay it any more as I'm really concerned about getting my EAD asap:

    1. I couldn't get a SSN in my married name, but have used my married name on all the forms.

    2. I want AP, as I have elderly grandparents (and unfortunately you never know when you may need to leave the country!) but I'm not actually planning to travel. Still, as the AP form asked me for the dates I was intending to travel I just made up a couple of dates around times I might want to travel if I could.

    3. My vaccination record is incomplete (at the time of my medical I hadn't finished the HPV vaccine course). But I'm just going to wait to see if another medical examination is required on the off-chance it isn't.

Sorry to hear life in the US isn't as expected, rajemr2119 :( I hope you can sort things out soon!

13. I'm sorry about the lost of your visa/passport... just a bit of advice, you might need a police report regarding the incident of robbery or an affidavit of loss, the USEM would probably require this for an authenticity of your reason.Hopefully you'll get your visa replaced soon.

  14. We finally received NOA1s for AOS and EAD for me and my 2 kids (K1 & K2).:dance::dance: we did not apply for AP even if it was free just additional documents for something we won't really need. I am just soo happy and soooooooo relieved, at least our papers was indeed received by USCIS. WHEW! Now the waiting finally begins.

wow, congrats gay! Hope next would be the biometrics appointment!

I tried adding the case numbers for my kids and my AOS and EAD case number on my old USCIS account (one I used for the I-129F petition), it says it can't add a case that does not exist... I tried creating another account but it would go through since my email address is already in their system. I don't know if I should wait a few days or weeks more before my case appeards online or if I need to log on to a different USCIS site. Had anybody else experience this?

We are having the same problem. There appears to be a delay in getting the new case numbers into the computer system. Keep trying, hopefully someday they will appear online.

We got same situation too. I guess it takes a while till we can track our cases online.

  15. hooray!! they received our package!!
