Thanks VJ'ers for your blessings and help. This process wouldn't have been easy without all your help. I am still waiting for passport back from embassy, do you all know how long does it take to receive passport back from embassy?

My wife had an interview on Nov 19 at Mumbai consulate and she was approved for visa. B'se of technical issue with their system, they couldn't issue the visa same day and told her that passport will be mailed to her in 2 days. Its been 2 days so far and when I called VFS office, they don't have the passport from embassy yet and I called embassy few times, but they wouldn't answer it correctly... Has anyone been through same issue at Mumbai consulate in last couple days? Please guide me, what should I do in this case? Thanks...

My wife had an interview on 19th too and she is going to be receiving her visa in the mail b'se of some technical issues at mumbai consulate. Once again congratulation.... When is your wife coming to US?

Just wanted to share with everybody... We got the Visa Approved today.

Reached at Mumbai Consulate @ 6:45 am for an interview at 7:30...

took her inside around 7:10ish..

finger print around 7:30ish...

1st lady she just collected the 2nd PCC which we never submitted at NVC...gave originals back.

asked couple of questions..like who's the petitioner, how long you guys been married... and then gave originals back and told her to wait..

2 hrs of wait..

interview begins with Indian & American officer at same time..

How did you decide on your husband and not other guys..did you meet other guys before?.. (what a irrelevant question)

Show me the marriage pics...point out who's who...

Why only 5-6 pics... she's like I didnt know i was supposed to bring a 10lb album

where honeymoon..any pics of that... no only in digi cam..never printed

Where does he work...

Made the DS230 sign.... (the one we submitted at VFS not the one we submitted at NVC)

Didnt even collect the XRAY report...

Your Visa is approved......

she asked for collecting the passport same day..but they refused saying some technical error we ahve and will be couriered to you in 2-3 days.

anyways, overall it was very easy process... took just 3 hrs...and she was out....

quik question here...do i have to keep all the ORIGINAL documents with me ( marriage cert,birth cert, etc..) to sent it to nvc...or my wife should keep it in india and take it to the consulate in india....PLEASE let me knw..

i just called the vermont service center...nothing new...sos...told me call bak in 30 to 45 day from now....

i dont wanna check anymore....

You do need original documents to send to NVC. NVC will not schedule the interview data until they receive the original document and your wife can take copies of the documents during the interview.

Does she need to book an appointment for medical?

I am so happy today... Today is my birthday and I recieved the best gift of my life... My wife's interview is scheduled on Nov 19 at 7:30am..

My wife submitted her passport to get PCC at hyderabad Passport office. She heard that they will stamp the passport for the PCC.

If thats the case, How would I send a original PCC without sending the passport with DS230 packet to NVC?

Do we have to request PASSPORT OFFICE to have it on paper because they just seem like going to do in some standard format of stamping it on passport?

The people at these offices are biggest jerks and remind us of the old curropted ways. Added headache is that they will be going to get PCC from indian consulate in jeddah which would delay paper work but we do need that for visa but I am not sure what format they follow, stamping on passport or a separate certificate.

All i am hoping right now is whatever we do in the correct way so we can avoid delay with our DS230 packet. Please give your suggestions, i will appreciate that. thanks

Passport office will put the stamp on the passport and also they will give you paper clearance, which you can submit to NVC. I hope that answers your question.

Could you tess me what is the paper clearence from passport office. And what is says.

Did you submit the copy of stamp on the pasport or paper clearence from passport office.

Did you submit the clearence from the police too.

Please share your experience.

I have submitted police clearance from local police station, copy of passport (with passport clearance stamp) and paper clearance from passport office...

Hello everybody,My case's completed on sep 26 and waiting for the interview on Nov.But i heard some people said USA has presidental election on Nov.That's why they won't schedule the interview on Nov.Has anyone heard about that?I'm so confused right now.

Chaddna... I didn't hear anything like that... When I called NVC, they told me that my interview will be in november. Lets wait for couple weeks for the date.
