My husband and I have been together seven years, I came over on a K1 visa end of 2022, married beginning of 2023, I was approved for my green card august 2023. We are now preparing to file for ROC. I will list below the evidence we will be submitting, but I’m very nervous. We don’t have hundreds of pages of evidence, and it’s just so nerve wracking to think of the possibility of a denial. We have a child together and the thought of our family being separated is so painful.
ROC evidence, strongest to weakest-
— 2023 and 2024 joint tax returns
- joint debit and credit card statements (It’s only been joint as of January this year as I’m a stay at home mom and we just didn’t find it necessary at the time, so we will only have a few statements which worries me)
- Copies of our credit and debit cards
- Internet bill in both our names (utilities are included in our rent)
- Rental lease agreement for our apartment
- joint cattle brand with both our and our daughter’s names (my husband co-owns a ranch with his mother)
- joint wills listing each other as beneficiaries
- Several car titles in both our names
- joint car insurance
- mail addressed to us both/individual mail addressed to same address
- One affidavit from my husband’s boss who is also our landlord acknowledging our relationship and co-residence
- lots of pictures of us with family, with our daughter and travelling
- boarding passes from two trips we have taken together to my home country
- air b&b receipts from our trips
- letters and mail addressed to us both from family
- vet receipts for our cats
- joint Spotify bills
- text messages to one another
I’m hoping this is enough but I see people with so much more. We don’t own a house together, we don’t have bank statements covering our entire marriage and we don’t have joint health insurance as my husband is native and receives health care through the IHS. Maybe I’m being irrational but it’s just a really nerve wracking process for me.
