  1. You might try to find the "wait list" for the type of Visa F2 for immediate relatives of LPR's. I've seen it somewhere but cannot seem to find it. Anyway, USCIS can tell you what "cases" are currently being processed according to the date received by USCIS. Visas are issued as they become available at the NVC according to which type of visa. I really don't know how long the wait would be. However, I have never known any Filipino that has brought their asawa to the U.S. in less than 5 years - maybe it can be done, I just don't know.

hi... im john. i am Permanent Resident here is US. with legal green card as Immigrant. arrived here august 2006

i have a wife (not married) common wife maybe in the philippines and i will get back there to marry her. can i petition her when i get back here? is that a long process or should you suggest that i wait for my US citizenship before i petition her.

they say i can always petition her even if im just immigrant.and when i become US citizen i can always update the status of the petition once i become Us citizen.

    please help......

Not sure which visa you are referring to.

The F-2 dependent visa is a nonimmigrant visa which allows dependent spouses and children of F-1 student visa holders to enter into the U.S.

The F1 student visa is a nonimmigrant visa which allows foreign students to enter into the U.S. to attend a full course of study at colleges, universities, conservatories, academic high schools (subject to strict regulations) and institutions with language training programs.

  2. Hi, I am very pleased to say that after extensive waiting on the embassy in London.... I finally have my wife here in California.

Yet now that she is here, I am not sure which forms I need to fill out next. Especially pertaining to 1-ability to work, and 2-social security card (this is especially important because we can't sign her up for health insurance without one)

    HI CB

I got medical insurance without a SSN. Maybe you should pursue this harder?
