Just got a touch today ...maybe they used my file to smother a fire in their trash can when their crack lighter blew up.
LOL!!!! I think my file must have contracted a nasty disease; because they won't touch it. Ohhhh the wonderful VSC.

Still no NOA2 here...waiting impatiently.
Urgh; I just heard from a friend (not a lawyer) who seems to think that my husband's 3-year-old pending application for Canadian residency may give us a problem. One more thing to worry about!!
Congrats to all who have had I-130 approval. I hope we're not far behind!

I'm getting antsy, waiting for my NOA2!
Has anyone else gotten one from the VSC (I see that people have filed after me and gotten approvals, but not sure what service center they're coming from???)

Thank you, Raj.
Yes, his 2-year residency requirement will be over next June. We expect that they will hang onto his green card until then, assuming we are granted one.

Yesterday my brother-in-law found out that he's unable to return to the USA to complete his Fulbright. (He has 4 more years on his PHD.)
My husband is starting to lose hope, and worries that we may be denied a green card for no reason. I wish I could feel more optimistic than he does, but if the American consulate in Pakistan can deny my brother-in-law a visa for completion of his Fulbright, why couldn't they make up a reason to keep my husband out of the USA as well?
We have been living apart since June of 2007; we married in Pakistan this year, and have just started the visa process, hoping to time it out with the termination of his J visa in 2009. We haven't hit any glitches yet, but I do worry since Pakistan seems to be a place where lots of people are being denied entry here.

Assalaamu alaikum, hello, etc!
Just chiming in that I'm another May 2008 filer waiting for the I-130 to be approved.

Does this mean that they will receive our petition, but not send the DS-3032 until his HRR is over?
Or will they go as far as approving it, but not send it to his local consulate for the interview process until then?
THanks...

Thank you all!

Greetings. I am an American citizen, and my longtime boyfriend and I will marry in a month in Pakistan. He was here in NYC on a Fulbright scholarship, and has been back in Pakistan for 6 months doing his 2 year home residency requirement. (HRR). He will be released from this in June of 2009.
We are planning on filing the I-130 papers, but I worry about timing it right. Does anyone have experience with this? We are not looking to evade his HRR, but to have everything processed and ready to go when his HRR is over.
Cheers.
