  1. Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can advice me regarding the case my father has for my two sisters. He's a US Citizen. He filed an immigration petition (I-130) back in 2007 and both got approved through USCIS very quickly, but since they're both married and over 21 they pretty much have the lowest priority as far as NVC is concerned. Unfortunately, my father has gotten very sick after and has been in the hospital for the last two months and will require serious home care and support from now on once he gets discharged.

They're both in the US now, have been here for a couple of weeks so far using B-1 visas. Is there a way to petition or ask the NVC to expedite their immigration visa award? Or is there anyway to change their visa status due to hardship?

    Thank you very much

  2. Hello everyone,

My wife's interview is about a couple of weeks from now and I'm starting to get a little paranoid. I know in the letter that I received from NVC about the appointment that all she needs to take with her is: 2 photos (5cmx5cm), her passport, the medical exam results envelope, and the appointment letter NVC sent, is that correct? I do not have to contact the embassy to do anything, right?

I tried calling the US embassy in cairo just to make sure everythings ok but haven't been successful. I've already sent in all the originals required for DS-230 to NVC as requested (original birth certificate, original police records, and the original marriage certificate. she doesn't need to take these with her to the interview since they already have these forms and she doesn't, right?

I just wanted to double check and make sure that I've got everything right.

    Thank you very much.

    check this

Good luck and my best wishes for you

Thanks bro. I checked that link earlier but the thing is all of the originals that are listed: birth certificate, marriage certificate, and police records, I sent all of these items to NVC because they asked for the originals, my wife has only copies of those documents. How can she take originals with her to the interview when they've already taken those forms from us?

I believe your wife need to bring copies of those documents. All original documents will be returned at the interview.

    (F) Good luck

Thanks man. I also cheched with a relative who interviewed recently and said she didn't need anything but the interview letter, passport, the photos, and medical examination results. I'll tell her to take the copies of birthcert, marriage cert, ... etc with her as well. Thanks

  3. The availibilty of the interview date is based on the capacity of the embassy. One of the reason why your husband was not assigned an interview date in August eventhough the case was completed in July is because the foreign embassy have back-logged case.

I have been told that the cut-off date for interview dates assignment is 20th of every month (some said 2nd week of the month), so maybe you can call again next week and see whether an interview date has been assigned.

This is pretty normal, so you don't have to worry about it.

    Good luck (F)

Thats what I also was told when I was trying to get an interview date. I'm also interviewing in Cairo, my case was completed late june and my interview date is on the 25th of this month.

  6. Hello everyone,

My father is a US citizen and he filed I-130s for my two sisters in July of this year. They're both married with children and above 21. Today we received approvals for both petitions. According to the approval letter both cases will be forwarded to NVC. My question is, how long does a case stay at NVC (usually) for married son/daughter above 21? is it the same as all other cases (like spouse for example)?

I have applied for my wife a year ago and it took quite a long time to get an approval from USCIS, NVC waiting time to get an interview date wasn't that bad (about 2 months). I know there gotta be a bottleneck somewhere in the process because it doesn't sound right to me to have an interview date for my sisters in two months. That's why I'm wondering how long it usually take to get an interview date after NVC receives a case for a married son/daughter over 21. I haven't seen any processing time tables for NVC so I apologize if there's one.

    Thank you very much.

  7. Hello everyone,

I have barely worked in the past three years because of school and started working full-time this year. So my tax returns will show that i'm not above poverty level for 2005, 2006, and 2007, but pay stubs and employment statement for this year will show that I am. Do you think I need to have a co-sponsor? And since the requirement is to only send last year's IRS transcripts, would it make any sense in my case to send the last 3 years?

    Thank you very much

  8. If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a

visa abroad at the American consular post in: City _____ Country _____

    You fill in this line.

I believe Cairo Egypt handles immigrant visas for Sudan

Thanks Dan. My problem is that I have already filed I-130. My petition is now in NVC. What would you recommend to do in such a case? is there a form that I should fill?

You're right, thre's no USem in sudan, most sudanese go to egypt to process their visas. you know too much lol

NVC will probably figure it out but you could just call them and make sure. You'll be sending them other forms and payments, so you can confirm in writing as well.

Thank you very much pushbrk, I'll call NVC to make sure they got it right.

  10. item 22 on I-130 form reads as follows:

    22. Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.

Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in: City ______ State ______

If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a

visa abroad at the American consular post in: City _____ Country _____

My wife does not live in the US and never have, so when I was filling the form i completely ignored this part and didn't put the country name and city name. k3 approvals don't seem to be getting out of VSC anytime soon, so I decided to go the CR1 route. Since I didn't fill in the country and city names, will that affect my CR1 process? will the packet be sent to the embassy?

I'm currently at the I-864 fee step for NVC.

    Thank you very much

  11. making copies is not required, it's just for your own benefit. It's good that you have copies of your supporting evidence. good luck with your journey.

Thanks a lot. I dont know man, you're like a good luck charm. After I read your message I checked email and found out that my I-130 got approved, alhamdolilah, hopefully K-3 approval comes in soon :)

    shokran jazeelan ya basha :D

  12. When I filed for both I-130 and I-129f I didn't make copies of the these two forms (but I copied all of the other supporting documents since USCIS do not require originals). I do have a soft copy of the I-130 and I-129f forms but it does not include my signatures and wife's signatures.

I was wondering if this would be a problem when it comes to interview time at the embassy since I noticed that the guides here mention that the spouse should take an exact replica of the forms submitted to the interview.

    I appreciate any help

    Thank you
