  1. Good luck for all the folks having their interviews!!! I had mine July 12th and got approved, had visa in passport 2 days later!

Getting ready for the big move now and I am just wondering if anyone knows how to go about getting a SSN. I keep seeing that you can apply for one at the same time as your application however I don't ever remember that being an option for the CR1 forms. Does anyone have any insight? I am thinking when I cross the boarder perhaps I go to a social security office right away to get one?

  2. Does anyone have experience with holding 1 nationality at the time of submitting DS-260 and then by the time of the interview holding two?

I am a British citizen living in Canada and recently became a Canadian citizen too. When I started this visa process I wasn't a Canadian citizen yet, now that I am do I need to update anything online or would just bringing my Canadian passport as well as my British passport be ok? I am worried that something is going to have drastically changed and it might delay their approving my green card

Also, a lot of information has changed on my ds-260 form now. I just tried to log onto my account and update the DS260 and it won't let me. Assuming that just bringing along the amendments to the interview would be ok?

if anyone has experience with this that would be great! thanks

  4. Question- I am a British citizen living in Canada and recently became a Canadian citizen too. When I started this visa process I wasn't a Canadian citizen yet, now that I am do I need to update anything online or would just bringing my Canadian passport as well as my British passport be ok?

Also a lot of information has changed on my ds-260 form now. Should I update online before my interview or just bring the updated version to the interview, I keep hearing conflicting information. Thanks

  5. @Family One I believe you need to fill out form 3299. Have a list of all inventory and value prices of items. Customs like you to be extra prepared with this stuff so even if they don't ask to see it or go through it, it really helps. This is the same form we used with a shipping company for all of our belongings as well as moving our vehicle over.

  6. Quick question- I have my medical exam today in Toronto and it is asking me to bring my DS-260 form. I haven't updated all the information on this form yet as my address and employment has changed since filing with NVC. I am aware that i need to bring the updated version to my Montreal interview however i am wondering if i should update this on CEAC website first and bring the updated version to my medical exam too?

    Thanks for any insight!

  7. Hey Guys,

I am just gathering my documents for my medical exam. Where it says you need a flu shot (Nov - March only) does this mean because it is July when i am having my interview i don't need to show proof of a flu shot? I didn't get the flu shot this past year in any case so hoping that this doesn't effect anything?

  8. I have a few questions about preparing for my interview and what to expect. I was DQ'ed Feb 17th, still waiting to hear when my interview will be.

1- Will the interview letter come through via email or physical post?

2- A few things like my current job and husbands phone number and current address have all changed since filling DS-260, should i be updating this in CAEC Account with NVC

3- Does anyone have any experience with how long after you receive your interview letter it will take for the actual interview date? I have heard conflicting things.
