Sweetie's passport is due to expire this year. How can we renew her passport while still in the USA? From what I gather from the Philippines embassy website we have to actually go to the embassy or a consulate. Is this true. really?
Thx

Sweety's removal of conditions is coming up in the next few months and we are looking forward to it.
My main concern for the moment is we moved last March and we filed online an AR-11. We have the copy on file and printed, everything looked ok until last week. We received a letter from USCIS reminding us of our need to file I-751. How nice of them but the problem is they sent the letter to our old address. Hmm. I do a little search and find out I was supposed to file a I-865 as well.
I think better late than never in regards to the I-865 but what can we do about the AR-11 which was obviously never recieved or registered? Anyone else find themselves in a similar situation?
We just want this Removal of Conditions to go smoothly and don't want anyone to think that we "have been hiding out".
Thx

Obviously I have been sitting on this for a few months and read everyones responses a couple of times over and I do appreciate everyones advise and insight.
We send a little something every now and then when we can afford it but not on a regular basis which is my concern. I think the best advise given in members posts is if Sweety is working then she can send all she wants is the best way to go.
In the meantime Sweety isn't working and we don't see her working anytime soon so things will have to stay as is.
I don't see any suffering going on with the In Laws as there are 2 men in the family and they are fully capable of working.
Thank you

If he was in the USA illegally and now wants to marry an American? One plus one.

My grandfather came to the USA from Mexico in 1911 and worked in the fields his whole life.
Good luck.

The insurance companys are going to price themselves out of business. What a crying shame that health care has become a luxury item in this country.

Can someone explain to me the expectations and/or pressures placed upon a Filipina who has married and American and now lives in the U.S.A.?

Sweety got her welcome letter last week (No interview). AOS approved and 3 weeks until she gets her Green Card.
What can Sweety do with this card? Can she work? Can she travel outside the U.S.?
We did not sent paperwork for EAD or Travel document.

I'd be chasing señoritas in Ciudad Juarez, México!
Been there, done that, never going back again, except for dental work.
If there were no Philippines I'm sure I would have met Sweety somewhere, somehow.

.....How dare you call my Fiancée a prostitute!!!
This is just mean and nasty. Where does anyone get off saying anything about anybody and placing a label on someone whether or not they maybe or not maybe something or another.
I think it was in bad taste for whoever it was ( I'm not going to look it up or name names) that posted a link to a sexual tourism website. To lump everyone in a particular geographical location as a prostitute.
Maybe the finacée in question went to work there as a waitress there rather in her home province because of the concentration of western tourists who tip better than the average Filipino enabling her to send money home to her family. Also maybe she was motivated to met and marry a western man. Don't we all want to marry the loves of our lives? We can meet our love next door or across an ocean.
I have taken this thread with a certain amount of emotion because I think of my Sweety. She maintained her virtues for 3 years in this horrible place and saved herself for her wedding night. As fate would have it, that man was me with her on her wedding night. Our Visa Journey went smoothly hindered only by our own anxiouness to be reunited and "Bill's" experience is the complete opposite of of our own.
Everyone was helpful and kind to Sweety and I during our experience and I ask the same for Bill and his love. Please provide useful information for the OP and keep your criticism and ridicule to yourselves and if the Mods could please remove the hateful and derogatory posts, I'm sure the OP would appreciate it.

He has a filipina that signed a withdrawal.... something NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER HEARD OF.
This could be of use to someone, "something NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER HEARD OF". Just because no one has ever heard of it, doesn't mean its not true, it could be new or something unique in a case such as this.
You mention the problem of some people posting under fake user names to stir things up and really, they should be dealt with but don't be so quick to point the troll finger at someone.
The points you bring up indicating that this may be a troll thread could very well be facts in "Bill's" case that need to be thought over by him and others who think they may find themselves in a similar situation.
I have found many threads and responses to my posts very useful in helping Sweety and I in our Visa Journey and I thank this site and all those who participate.

Sweety cooks delis (SP?) and it smells like all kinds of hell.
I wouldn't dare ask her to cook outside or anything else for that matter. She is on the other side of the world, no friends, no family, just us and my family. Sweety can do whatever she wants; except get me to eat delis.

Sweety and I took a little road trip from El Paso (where we live) to Carlsbad Caverns. It was a great start to the day and after a bit of driving, in the middle of nowhere there is a Border Patrol Inspection Station. There are several of these set up inside the United States away from border areas as a secondary method of catching illegal aliens and drugs smugglers.
Not a very long line, we pull up and roll down the window. We are asked where we are from and we both say El Paso but soon after he asks for our nationalites. He asks to see Sweety's passport and notices the K-1 Visa is expired and lets us know about it (how nice). I explain we have filed for Adjustment of Status already and that the case is still pending.
He then asks to see the Notice of Action and we show him a copy. I had a problem once at the actual U.S./Mex border a few years ago involving a Mexican National so I understand the sensitivities at these inspection stations. I tell the inspector that it is only a copy and I even used Word to watermark the copy with the word COPY on it. It seems to be satisfactory as he let us pass.
For any one traveling from ANY border area in the USA or even to and from a border area I hope you find this information useful in aiding you to be prepared.
NOTE: This is an interior inspection station, NOT and international crossing or Point of Entry. It is strictly about traveling within the United States from one location in the USA to another.
The trip was a great getaway. I have been to Carlsbad Caverns several times, the last time being almost 20 years ago but this was Sweety's first time. We arrived after 2pm so the natural entrance was closed so we had to take the elevator down for our tour which is disappointing because the natural entrance is spectacular and a much longer tour so for anyone inspired to go see the caverns be sure to arrive before 2pm.

We recieved our NOA for AOS Dec 26 and we are happy to see things moving along. The only weird thing is we recieved 2 NOAs. The only difference on the 2 NOAs is the "Notice Date". One says the 15th and the other says the 16th. Is this normal or has someone goofed along the way?
We also have another update but Sweety wants to keep a hat on that one for the moment

I must say I admire you for getting along without your maids and staff. Neither I nor Sweetie have had maids or staff. In time you will find satisfaction in doing thing for yourself.

Sweety and I are preparing our package to submit for AOS. We are stumped on the I-693A and cannot find a Civil Surgeon who will transcribe from the DS-3025. We are tempted to only submit the DS3025 and hope for the best as we have seen a few posts where filers were successful and did not recieve an RFE.
Through our searches in the forums we have found a couple posts claiming the I-693A is obsolete and no longer necessary.
Does anyone have any solid confirmation on this?
Thank You

Has anyone thought that maybe the OP is just an attention getter?
As far as posting in a prefered language, I think it is fine to post in a persons language of choice but it would be nice to understand what is being said.

nosebleed
what's this suppose to mean?
Go easy on this person please. It is obvious this person does not come from a loving family, has no heart and/or has issues that can only be dealt with by medication.

Sweety brought 2 boxes of 3n1 with her and we are now down to our last stick.
. Has anyone had any luck finding this stateside? Of course we have anticipated running out and have shopped the major chain stores like WalMart and have not found anything at least similar.
Where can I find this delicious coffee? We have not found any Filipino stores in El Paso but we really need to search around. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

A little update to this thread. Sweety and I went to a SSA office and successfully applied for a SSN. No problems this time and no questions asked. How did we do it? I don't know. Was it because of a different office or different clerk? Maybe it was information that DHS sends to SSA?
All we presented to the clerk was Sweety's NSO Birth Certificate and passport. I specifically stated, "...SSN for my wife...", but the clerk filled everything out with my wife's maiden name.
In any case, we are waiting for her SSN card.

Whatever the case may be. If DV has been put on hold or sh*tcanned I wish to all those currently filing and waiting a speedy process.

Although I am from Texas, the New Mexico stateline is just a few miles up the 10 freeway from my house. Sometimes, I deem myself to be a New Mexican because I go to Las Cruces a lot for fiestas.
Sweety and I live in El Paso too.

So what I am able to gather from responses here and similar postings is a matter of convincing, tricking, hoping and a luck of the draw to get someone to issue a SSN.
One of the links provided pretty much says the clerk is correct another says he is wrong. There has to be something rock solid.
I think tomorrow we will go to another office and say we need SSN for the purposes of putting Sweety on the lease and bank account and credit cards. Maybe this will ring a bell with them that SSN is also for identification purposes and not just employment. The only problem with that is the majority of the population here on the border is Hispanic and sympathys run deep for illegals (Mexican) and not much understanding for Filipinas who come here legally.

The above link was useful for events for the month of March but how can I get a heads up on any other out reaches planned in the coming months. If there is nothing planned for the El Paso area, it would be nice to plan a road trip. We would like to get out of town for a bit.
