ok...I have asked a similar question before, but I'll ask away again:
Does my fiance need to have his k-1 within a certain time frame since I have gotten the notice of approval for the I129-F. What I mean is, I noticed on my NOA2 that it is valid between 7/01/08 - 10/31/08. Does that mean he must have been interviewed AND approved for the k-1 by 10/31?
I haven't sent him the affidavit yet, for several reasons -- none of them very good ones. How would would we go about filing for an extension if need be? I need some reassurance that I haven't messed this all up, or at the very least, I need a nudge in the right direction. I'm a little panicky as of now.
thanks.
So we don't need to file a formal extension with the Consulate in Naples?

well the approved petition has a 'shelf-life' of 4 months ...often Consulates will extend this automatically (when it's them who can't make the interview within the timeframe) but I believe if you are going to cut it close you will have to formally file for an extension.
thank you!

is there a time limit or deadline between the date of the NOA approval and the time we should send packet 3 to the consulate?
thanks!

Hi everyone!
I don't post often....ok, I don't post at all, but I just wanted to let you all know that we were informed by email that we were approved and the NOA2 was mailed yesterday! Hurray!
I'm sure theres many more approvals to come, so hang in there!

What about delaying the issuance of the visa until after the cruise?
How can the issuance of the visa be delayed?

So you may lose the cruise fare or you could still try for AP and hope it comes thru in time? Could you book the cruise after he enters the US, as you will then know that the K-1 was not (or was) activated?

Thanks for the link.
That would be ideal, but I only have until August to book or cancel the cruise. Right now everything seems to be based on what ifs. I'm having a feeling this is not going to work out.

ok, I hope I'm not trying to grasp the impossible with this question, but here goes:
I just sent in the I-129F for K-1 today. I am guessing the approval could be between August-October (as long as everything runs in the best possible way). My problem is that my family is planning a cruise (around Cozumel, Mexico) the week of Thanksgiving, and they were planning on us (me and the boy) to be there as well.
Even if we were married within a few days of his entry on the K-1 and filed the AOS as soon as possible along with the advance parole, I don't think it would be here on time for us to make the trip. So my question is: is it possible for him to enter the US as a tourist AFTER the K-1 has been approved, and save his entry on the K-1 for after the trip? (As in he comes back to the US at a later date). Is that even a possibility? Or would it just be messy?
I'd really love for us to go, as most of my family will be going. So any suggestion, advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully the reality of the situation won't be a slap in the face
thanks!
