  1. I am not sure if there is an open terminal. I think it is safe for women but it will be tiring for her. Better get her a hotel near the airport so she can rest before her flight the next day. God bless

My wife sleeps like a bear in hibernation. I set an alarm clock for her at full volume and after 30 minutes of the alarm going off,she was still sleeping

A hotel room for 7 hours sounds good to me, but I am afraid if she falls asleep, she will not

wake up in time to catch her flight

  2. Bought my wife Carol tickets to go home for a visit. She will be arriving at 9:30 PM at terminal 1. Her flight out to General Santos City is at 7:00 AM the next morning. When I visited her 4 years ago, I had to wait outside the terminal after it closed

for my flight in the morning. There was a few guards/ airport employees outside the airport all night, along with some other passengers waiting for morning flights. I felt safe, but not sure if it will be safe for a woman waiting by herself.

Will it be safe for my wife traveling by herself to wait outside the airport terminal 1 for her morning flight?

Is there another terminal open all night?

What papers/documents will she need to bring to get there and get home? Green card/Philippine passport?

What is the cost for the airport tax?

Is there a cell phone she can buy to call me and I can call her while she is there for 3 weeks? Not sure if her Tracfone

    will work in the Philippines?

    Thanks you very much!

  3. How do we change my wifes name now we are married?

Which name do we use on the AOS application? Her new

married name or her old single name? Do we change her

name on her social security card before or after AOS?

Thanks for the help I am confused, because now we are married

my wife wants to use her fathers last name as her middle name,

instead of her mothers maiden name.

  5. That brings back so many memories! Ruchie has been here over a year now and to the most part has adjusted very well...... Have you been to the China Market on 4th and Grand yet? I think I told you there was a Manila Grocery up North of the River off of 80th and N. Oak.... I am PMing you our Tel # if Carol would like to talk with Ruchie... It really helps with the homesickness when they have another Filipina to talk to.....

Yes we went to both markets. I was not to impressed with the Manila market.

It was very small with not so many choices compared to the China market downtown.

  6. Can I send a I-134 Affidavid of Support with the I-485 form to the USCIS. I used the I-134 for our K1 visa.

The instructions for the I-485 say :

Submit an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) if your adjustment-of-status application is based on your entry as a fiancé(e).

We sent the I-864 in with the AOS. I wouldn't send the I-134 in........ How is life out there in Lee's Summit? Hope you two are doing good!

Things are doing fine. Carol arrived on 7/16, and she seems to be adjusting well to things here in the US.

I had to get her plastic tubs to wash her clothes by hand, and a bucket and tabo to take a shower with.

She is having a hard time learning to use the washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner and helping out around the house  She has adjusted well to the food here

  7. Can Carol get inside the departure area the day before her flight to get the stamp?

Her flight leaves at 7:30 am on Wednesday. She will arrive at the airport at 12 pm on Tuesday from Gensan. Does she have to go to the CFO office in Manila on Tuesday, or can she get the stamp

at the airport on Tuesday if her flight isnt until Wednesday?

  8. Cost of living in Florida is much higher. The taxes and homeowners insurance will eat up the difference.

Not to mention houses in Florida cost much more and you get very little property, so you are really close to neighbors house. Check out your insurance to cover all the hurricanes, it is very expensive, if you can even buy it in some places. The housing crisis has hit Florida and California harder than anyone, because of the way over inflated housing prices. Lots of my friends there are fighting to keep their jobs and homes. No one I know in NC is having this problem now. So that $10K might only be $5K after figuring your costs of living.

  9. I lived in NC and FL for 13 years each. NC is the place to live, very beautiful and

inexpensive. Less drugs, very family oriented, quieter more laid back lifestyle.

Low crime rate, 4 seasons with a mild winter, not hot and humid 12 months a year.

Very beautiful state, mountains and beaches are all driving distances.
