  1. Hello Tintin and Sandy,

We are in the same situation as o0pink0o. Now if we can not show evidence of vaccination for those not contraindicated, will we have to wait until birth and after breast feeding to move forward with the I-693?

I am scheduled to see the doctor on May 5th for the vaccinations that I need (HPV and TD booster) but the thing is, we just discovered yesterday that I am pregnant. Am I excuse to recieve those shots that I need? In case the doctor won't give me shots because I am pregnant, can I ask the doctor a document stating that I am pregnant which I can send to the USCIS together with the rest of AOS documents? Do I still need to transcribe my medical records eventhough my shots aren't complete?

BTW, my medical in the Philippines will expire on August.

    Thanks in advance :star:

    Congratulations on your pregnancy.

You will still require a Civil Surgeon to complete the I-693. There are some vaccinations that required by the USCIS that are waived in the case of pregnancy, but there are other required vaccinations that being pregnant does not waive. For those vaccinations that are contraindicated when pregnant, the Civil Surgeon will simply notate this on the I-693 form under the line item for those specific vaccination requirements. For the other vaccinations that are still required, even though you are pregnant, you will need to submit proof of vaccination to the Civil Surgeon so they can document that those specific vaccination requirements have been met.

    Good luck to you!

    Warm Regards,

    Samby

Thanks :) My husband and I are both happy about the baby :)

Would you happen to know on what are those vaccines that they will require for a preganant woman or can you give me link where I can get that information? thanks :)

Hi. Have a look at these links for the current information on:

    1) Vaccination requirements for Aliens Adjusting Status: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/civil_sur...nstructions.pdf

    2) Guidelines for Vaccinating Pregnant Women: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/preg-guide.htm

As you will see from this info, many of the required vaccinatons are not excludable due to Pregnancy. Some are, however. For those that are contraindicated due to Pregnancy (and or Breastfeeding) (listed in Link #2, above), the Civil Surgeon will provide a waiver which will allow USCIS to move forward with processing your AOS application. For those that are not contraindicated, you are required to show evidence of vaccination and the Civil Surgeon will documnet that on the I-693 form which is to be included (sealed) in your I485 AOS Application.

    Good Luck!

  3. Yes I do not want to wait that long. I wanted to see if we could apply for SSN without EAD(authorized to work). According to the SSN application we can apply with out EAD but we will need a written document from fed state or local government to do so. I'm thinking maybe I need to contact a senator? Not sure where to start.

K-3 will need to wait until they have EAD or Green-card, so you need to file for AOS and EAD first, before you can apply for SSN. (This can take 90 days or more)

CR-1 gets green-card upon entry to the USA and can get SSN within 2 weeks or so of entry.

Moving to work travel prior to green-card forum.

  4. I want to get a social security card for my wife as soon as possible so that I can enroll her to my health insurance since she just got pregnant. We have sent the EAD December 12, 2008. According to the SSN application we must provide a document from a U.S. Federal, State, or local government explaining why we need a Social Security Number since she has not been approved yet to work in the U.S. Anybody have any experience with this? What were the steps in getting the document/s?

    Thanks.

  6. Yes honestly I would not want to eat that lettuce again in my life if I could help it. Good luck :-)

Then, I don't think i would love to eat that typhoid tainted lettuce. Lol.

Yes I am serious that I look really lean since highschool days.

It's lettuce contaminated with a type of salmonella. That was the worst diet I have ever had in my life. Sever headaches with 40 degree celcius fever for like a week straight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoid_Fever But now I feel healthier then ever and looking leanest since highschool days.

You can eat typhoid tainted lettuce ;-) which happened to me this past July when I last visited my wife. I barely ate anything when I got sick. I lost about 10lbs in like 10 days and only gained back about 3lbs since that happened.

What's typhoid tainted lettuce? Though , i am not a fan of lettuce. :D

    Lol. Are you serious?

I am about to explode but I know there is nothing to be gained.

    Patience, patience, patience!

jtrims56!! I think i've chatted with your fiancee today at SLEC, we really have the same case and I felt sorry for her coz she waited for almost 5 hours with no food :) We exchanged numbers tho so we'll get in touch...we have the same interview date :)

At last i got approved!!! I called early this morning, still with no result(the guy told me to call tomorrow, heck no, tagal na kaya) then i tried calling in the afternoon persistently, then there, Clark (window G) finally told me that I passed the psyche exam and be prepared to go to SLEC for my vaccines. So without having second thoughts, i rushed to SLEC with my mom :) I gave my receipt and waited for 4 hungering hours, then at long last my name was called!!! Had my vaccines taken then they rescheduled my interview to July 28 (SONA day)

Thanks for all the concern  and oh here's the direct line of CLARK/Window G in case you get tired of calling their hot line... it's 5246083

    Hi Alizeyah,

Yes! you talked with my fiance Suzy at Slec. Small world huh? She is approved also and has the same interview date as you. Contrats to you! We are very happy to have Slec behind us.

Suzy said she had a nice talk with you and how you recognized her timeline from my post. She says to say hi, that you are a nice person.

Thanks for talking with her, she has been away from her home for over a month.

Good luck to you and your fiancee.

    Ingat Lagi,

    Jon

Suzette is so nice too, she's so transparent and i enjoyed talking to her :) we laugh as we share our experiences!!! she's so funny too :) I'm asking her to stay here at our house maybe on Sunday so we can go together on Monday for our interview, since our house is near the embassy and my mom can take us there. It's really really great to have SLEC behind us now, and finally we can be with our partners soon. Congrats too and hopefully we can get our visas in a week's time. Take care and God bless Jon!!!

    Hi Alizeyah,

Thank you for the invite for Suzy to stay in your home on Sunday before your (yippee!) interview. I have not yet talked to her today (maybe you already have) so I don't know her response but I would like to thank you for your generosity, it is very much appreciated!

Suzy has met so many wonderful and loving people on this journey, I am so impressed with the Filipino spirit and giving nature. Words fail me at this moment, I am so touched by all the people she has met and been helped by.

Ingat lagi and God bless you Alizeyah!

PS....Where is your Fiancee from? Just curious...Thnx

    Hello Jon,

My fiance's a Filipino too, he moved to Michigan but now stays in Las Vegas and is now working under National Guard Nevada.

Suzy will stay in Malate so we just planned on meeting around 530 for breakfast before our (yipee!!!) interview :) Suzy like I said is a very transparent person so it was really so easy to be nice to her hehehe.

It's just going to be another day before our interview so keep on praying :innocent:

Thanks for being so nice too. I admire your patience given Suzy's case...took her soooo long to finally reach this point. You're also lucky to have met someone like Suzy...she's so honest, witty and a very good person. (i can say that even if we've talked for just half an hour hehehe)

More prayers for the both of you, keep the faith!!!! ;)
