  1. Thanks so much for the input. He left a couple of days after our civil marriage so we have no property or bank account with both our names but I have numerous photos. They've already asked for an RFE stating, specifically, the need for affidavits. I will be asking my parents and sisters to make one and my husband is asking his mom and biological dad to do the same. My husband and I are thinking of sending phone bills and additional pictures and other evidence that there had been a relationship even prior the marriage ceremony. I know I'm sending more than what they're asking for but I guess in cases like this it's best to have given more than less...

  2. HI! I'm new here and would greatly appreciate any help from you. Just early January my husaband who is in California received an RFE asking for more proofs of our marriage (got married October 2006). He already sent our Marriage Contract, proofs of money transfer and 8 different pictures from when we were still engaged and our civil wedding (that would be in a span of 4 years). He said he just had them printed on normal paper and not photo paper. I wonder if that would make much of a difference?

I already sent him affidavits from witnesses to our wedding which basically said they acted as sponsors and witnesses and since I only stumbled upon this very useful site now I realize that what I had sent him was wrong. I'm thinking of getting affidavits from his mom and biological dad (his adoptive father passed away) and my family attesting to the authenticity of our relationship. He also visited me when I was studying in Italy and I'm thinking of sending passport pages (of the two of us) proving that he was in Italy at the same time I was, backed by pictures of course. We have numerous e-mails more when we were not yet married and am planning to send them as well. I've continued on but let me sum up my main queries:

    1. Would it make a difference if the photos we send are printed on normal paper and not on photo paper?

    2. Can I send as proof of "marriage" and the authenticity of the relationship our emails and his visits to me even when we weren't married yet (2004-2005)?

When I look at what others have sent, I notice that some have sent less than what we have and were approved. Are my husband and I just unlucky that we got a meticulous official go through our application? I hope that an RFE is just normal because I am getting oh-so-paranoid...:blink::help:

Thanks so much for your time!!
