Hmmm... it is a bit confusing though... When I look up the processing times on the uscis website it says 6.5 months for the 765 at NBC and 17 months at local office for 485... which does not align with the numbers that I'm getting on myuscis. When I search on visajourney there are only a couple of cases for family based 485 at my local office in the last few years and they seem to be around 9 months to a year. I guess the only way to tell for sure how long it will take is to wait for them to finish processing haha. Thanks again for the information.

We received our USCIS Account Access Notice (for my spouse) today and I logged in and looked at the cases. Currently, it lists the 485 and 765 applications that we filed at the end of June. Under "my progress" it says "estimated time until your case decision: 2 months" for the 485 and "estimated time until your case decision: 4 months" for the 765 (also says 3 weeks for "next step" which is biometrics). My question is this: has anyone ever heard of a 485 getting processed prior to a 765? I feel like this is odd since the AOS is supposed to be taking like over a year right now and if the 485 processes first, the 765 is sort of irrelevant. Also, everyone's timelines lately have been saying 2 months for 765 lately. I was really hoping his EAD would arrive as soon as possible as we could really use the additional income. But, if the AOS finished in 2 months that would be amazing. Worst case scenario would be the 485 estimated timeline being wrong and it actually taking a year and the 765 timeline being right and it actually taking 4 months. I'm not concerned with the 485 taking a long time as long as we get the EAD, you know? Immigration is so confusing.

4/10 Received email saying passport was ready to pick up (had it sent to local consulate) 4/11 Picked up passport! That took so much longer than I ever expected and we missed our intended wedding date but... at least we're through it! Thanks for the help everyone.

Update: 4/5 Status changed to approved 4/8 Status changed to Issued Finally!! It's odd because we never saw an administrative processing status and most threads that I've seen didn't mention an approved status... But, however it had to happen, I'm just glad we're finally at issued. Hopefully later today or tomorrow we'll have shipping information. Thanks everyone!

Update: 3/12 - Finally changed from "Refused" to "Application Received" and changed to NIV. However, there haven't been any updates since then. Seems like our case is sitting in line... Hopefully we'll be "issued" any day now.

3/3 Update. Still waiting for final approval/visa to be printed etc. We ended up sending him back to Rio to turn in the document in person after three different people told us that was what we had to do. I noticed a couple of days before he went back to Rio that the appointment confirmation HAD INFORMATION ON HOW TO MAIL THE DOCUMENT! The lady at the counter said that he didn't even need an appointment just to turn in a document. Very frustrated with the incorrect information/lack of communication that cost me an unnecessary $400 flight to Rio. BUT at least that part is over and now we can look forward. I'm hoping we'll have some news this week. 2/16 Mailed document to Brazil 2/22 Document in Fiancé's hands 2/26 Fiancé flew to Rio and back, document turned in 3/3 Status still says Refused, last updated 2/26. Hopefully update on 3/4.

Fiance had his interview in Rio but we were missing a document (apparently the petitioner/applicant distinction isn't always relevant in some instruction sets which caused me to miss a document). I sent it to him and he printed it and turned it in at the ASC within like two hours. He was told by the interviewer that his was good to go and would be approved with that document. They kept his passport and other documents and everything. From looking at other timelines I was expecting to have the visa in hand within two weeks. However, now, I'm having trouble finding data on timelines with a similar situation. Has anyone had a similar situation in Rio? Or elsewhere? How long did it take to get the visa? Interview: 2/5/24 Submitted missing documents: 2/5/24 Visa Status still says REFUSED as of end of day 2/6/24 Any insight is appreciated.
