Thanks Chino... I hope you're right.

she never said anything about letting us know within 60 days and she did give me that notice that I can't find any info on (and I'm a pretty good googler) so that's what's got me wound up.

  2. We had our AOS interview today

The lady who interviewed us did not approve us right there and then and told us she would have to discuss it with her supervisor and told us to wait in the waiting area. Fifteen minutes later, she returned and told us that her supervisor is out to lunch and handed us a sheet of paper (I-485 adjustment of status interview results) saying our case had been continued for further review.

In retrospect, I should have told her that we would wait until her supervisor came back. Now, I'm a little worried.

We've been together for four years (3 and half years or so before we got married) and there was a mountain of evidence on her desk from the last four years, but it seemed as if she hadn't even looked at it or was aware of its contents....(she kept asking us for stuff we had already sent in)

The only thing is, we didn't have a joint lease or much evidence (except for a joint bank account) to show co mingled assets...since I have been unemployed and looking for a job since getting my EAD card and I don't have any assets to speak of and neither does my wife.

So im just wondering, has this happened to anyone else before and should I be worried?

    Thanks guys

I am so sorry to hear about the delay in your approval. Did you take all the originals and made copies of the "stuff you had already sent in as per the interview letter?" What proof did you take to show that you are living together? Do you guys have health insurance and life insurance together? It is better to be over-prepared and never be asked for the evidence as the burden of proof is on us when we attend for an interview. I hope that everything will be alright and if they ask for further evidence then get on VJ if you are not sure of what to do and you will receive tons of help. All the best.

We had a bunch of recent photos, a letter from the bank stating that we had a joint account there and a joint federal tax return, plus a photocopy of a state refund cheque with both our names on it for around $1500.

We tried getting a lease agreement in both our names last week, but the lady who handles that at the rental office is still on vacation.

You're right about being over prepared though and I'm kicking myself that we didn't sort out the lease agreement and the utility bills months ago. Still, if they want those things it's not a big deal for us to get them, I just want to know

    Hey there,

Not sure if I can offer much help, but I can certainly commiserate..my husband and I had our AOS interview about 2 weeks ago and were given a form that basically said the officer had 60 days to make a decision, and that no additional evidence or information was needed at this time. He said he needed to run it by his supervisor and that it probably wouldn't take 60 days (that was said with a smile, which gave me hope!). We weren't asked to wait for the supervisor; we just left after he was finished with us. Now, 2 weeks later, we still haven't gotten an approval notice and our online status hasn't changed. The wait is killing me!

Can I ask if the IO took your I-94? Our IO took my husband's I-94 and wrote some stuff in his passport. Also, where are you from? If you were interviewed at Federal Plaza in NYC, I think that's their thing..making you wait an unnecessarily long time for the approval! Good luck!

    Hi,

I had my interview in San Francisco. Which is worrying me because I have only read positive reviews about the office in San Fran so I guess this is not a trend.

Not getting any feedback or being told what the issue was...is the worst part of it. If I had been given an RFE, that would have been better, because I would have known what to do next.

She did take out my I-94 but she did not take my EAD card and she did not write anything in my passport.

The very best of luck to you.

  4. So you can't meet the requirements of the I-864?

We met the requirements of the I864. My wife makes good money it's just that she doesn't have any savings account or investments etc./ and we never got around to adding me to utility bill accounts and all that jazz.

I don't think that's the issue, but I could be wrong...she gave us no indication.

  6. thanks a lot Jakey-Matey

    i'll try that.

do you have any thoughts on this...

what if i just leave "the other names used" field blank and just send in my itineraries with my birth name and just leave out the itineraries and tickets stubs with Rory on them...or is that just asking for trouble down the line?

  7. my girlfriend is mailing the I-129F packet tmwr and she's fretting over every little thing  .

my birth name is Ruairi...but sometimes I use Rory...a rough english version of the gaelic name... for credit cards and utility bills and other things like that

Ruairi is the first name on my passport and that is the name we are using with the I-129F and the G325 forms.

In the other names used fields we have put Rory X

On some of my itineraries and ticket stubs it says rory X and on some of them it says ruairi X

I have never legally changed my name and I use my birthname with all important documents.

Do i need to provide proof that Ruairi X and Rory X are the same person?

Will this cause problems??...will it slow things down when it comes to the background check stage?

    :help:

  8. Hi Guys

this has probably been asked before but i couldn't find it through the search engine

My fiancee is going to mail the I-19F pack tomorrow, and i was wondering if would be possible, if I could visit her in the states using the visa waiver programme while my K1 visa is being processed..and then return home when we receive the NOA2?

Also, is February a good month to file at the California centre?...how long should it take on average?
