  1. hello there,

I have my interview in London on Monday -I just had a bit of a panic because just after receiving the packet 4 we moved out of our house (my wife is the USC and we have two kids and have been married 11 years). I was just thinking about DS 230 Part 2 and I-864 and will it matter that the addresses are changing in this final stage - only the address of the petitioner on DS 230 Part 2, the place of residence for my wife on the I-864 and the mailing address on for me on the I-864 are changing - all to my mum and dads address here in the UK. None of the US addresses i.e. our domicile is changing.....will it cause confusion ?

    Cheers

  2. hi boltonus.

I don't know if i will be anyhelp but we just recieved a RFE for my daughter for a statutory declaration for her name change.

We changed her name by Deed poll in January 2007, the deed poll was included with all the documents but we still recieved a RFE for a statutory Declaration. They are nearly the same thing, worded very simalar. Anyway i searched online and found a template one which i filled and then just took to a solicitor to be signed in front of, cost us £5.00. I will be returning it to the embassy next week so will let you know if they accept it. Fingers crossed.

thanks mrs smith - well that sorts out one thing and saves me sending the deed poll I just ordered !

I found a template as well so I will go and do the solicitor thing.....

    thanks

ps. where are you in the midlands ? I am in brum....

  3. We sent the I-130 pack off at the beginning of February. I am the beneficiary (UK citizen) and my wife is the USC. We have

lived in the UK for 10 years. We have been asked for (1) my birth cert (no problem) and (2) provide legal evidence that my

    name has been legally changed.

My surname was changed when I was 5yrs old (30yrs ago) by deed poll and the deed poll is long lost. The solicitors where we

went only keep records for 6yrs. Has anyone provided this proof and had to 'renew' their name change - the letter says they

need a UK Statutory Declaration so I guess I will have to go to a solicitor. I thought a new deed poll might do but I guess

not. Has anyone been in this sitaution ?

Also on the G-325 form I filled in, my father is not my natural father (no father is listed on my birth cert) but he is the

father who married my mum 30yrs ago and stricly is my stepfather - does this matter? We could put a letter explaining the

    situation I suppose...waht do you think ?

    Cheers

  4. For anyone who is DCF in London it would appear there is a new certificate which you should get. More information is :

    here

    http://www.west-midlands.police.uk/data-protection/forms.asp

    and here

    http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

does anyone know anything about this ? Good thing is it seems to be a 10 rather than 40 day turnaround. Bad thing is it costs 35GBP rather than 10GBP !

I am about a month of the I-130 being processed so I was going to apply for my police certificate but now I am unsure what to do....

  5. well i had the same problem with the dates i just printed and used white out and just hand printed it in as for with your wifes name not sure sorry you could do the same thing

That's the way to go - you're better off printing them out and filling in the extra information --- or that's what I did anyways and went by just peachy.

    Cheers all sorted now !

  6. Hello,

I am having a problem with the I-130 and G-325 pdf's - namely when I type dates in they are not actually fitting in the box. Even when it is only a year ! and so when I print it out it comes out with a small '+' sign next to it. Is there anything I can do to change the font so that it all fits it ? The other problem is that my wife (the USC) has two middle names which exceed the amount of characters allowed - is it accpetable to just put in initials ? Her middle names are in full on the next page where it asks for all relatives....

    Cheers for the help

  7. Hello there,

I am in the process of submitting an I-130 (well my wife is!). She is a USC and we have lived in the UK for 10 years and have two kids with dual nationality. One question we were not too sure how to answer was the address where I intend to live in the US. Obviously myself and my wife will be living in the same place but we don't know where that will be yet ! Would it be ok to put my mother-in-laws address do you think ?

Also section 19 - your relatives address abroad - I presume that is our current home address ?

Just want to get everything right !
