Thank you for your reply here. There is not much information out there, so I appreciate it. How was the interview and the outcome? I hope that you have gotten the visa.

Unfortunately my husband was put to Ap. No documents were missing. They told him to complete form DS 5535, it’s been more than 10 days status says Refused. They have updated out case 2 times. Insha Allah we hear good news very soon.

    Hi all,

We have all noticed a wait time of one year after DQ for applicants who are not citizens of the embassy location, which is sad. But does anyone have any idea how they have been doing in late 2023 and 2024?

    CR1 (Iranian)
    PD: 12/2022
    DQ: 09/2023
    Ankara Embassy

It’s sadly the same. I have been DQ on February 2023. Got my interview notice on February 2024. Exactly one year. Interview is end of March. Insha Allah you all get your interviews and reunite with your loved ones. This whole process is very tiring and stressful

    Priority date June 8th 2022

May 30th 2023 NVC received our approved our immigrant visa petition from USCIS.

On July 17th 2023 we requested to add a joint sponsor.

On August 21st & August 30th we were asked to submit our sponsors W2 forms.

On August 30th we received a message saying "All required applicant documents have been received."

Since then... NOTHING! It has been 2 months with no communication.

I emailed NVC and they responded what you would see below...

This case is documentarily complete, which means the NVC has all the documents we requested. Your application is waiting for an interview appointment, where a consular officer will adjudicate it.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate provides the National Visa Center (NVC) with a list of available appointment dates and times.  We will schedule your case for an interview appointment when an appointment date is available.  We schedule appointments on a first in, first out basis.  After we schedule your appointment, we will forward your case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in ANKARA

Although NVC strives to schedule appointments within three months of NVC’s acceptance of all requested documentation, this timeframe is subject to the operating status and capacity of the consular section.  Currently, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, most consular posts are operating at a limited capacity as they work through a backlog of immigrant visa applications and scheduling may take significantly longer.

We cannot predict how long it will take to schedule your appointment, but we will notify the applicant, the petitioner, and your attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.  Your case will stay at NVC until that time.

I am a US citizien living in the US and my wife is from Iran living in Turkey. The interview will be in Ankara Turkey.

Are we suppose to count from the date NVC received our case from USCIS on May 30th 2023 or the day where they say "All required documents have been received" on August 30th. One was 5months ago and the other one was 2 months ago... and we are waiting...

What do you think about our timing?

    Thank you all!

When is your DQ? And did you receive interview letter?

Yep, its been a year. I was hoping it would be over by now. I've heard they are giving Turkish citizens priority too. I'm not sure why they are doing that.

I appreciate you posting the link! There is so little information about the US Embassy in Ankara on VJ. I know it's because there aren't many people going through there on the forum

I pray you get your interview very soon.

    Hi,
I'm a foreigner residing in Izmir , Turkey. My wife petitioned for me. Most likely my petition will be approved soon. Now I'm worried about consular processing. Does it take too long for interview after DQed in Ankara? Does anyone have experience?

    Thanks

Hello. I got dq’ed last February. Waiting for interview at Ankara. I heard for foreigners is taking longer dont know how true is that. I personally don’t believe that.

Yes! It turns out his birth certificate was correct, but we didn't upload the paper with the chart listing his family members which is what they were specifically looking for. And the Turkish police certificate was correct, but his Canadian police certificate was incorrect - they didn't take his fingerprints at the police station (which was frustrating because they specifically told him they were doing what they needed to do for a US green card, but they were obviously misinformed) so it wasn't the right document. But we got it corrected and we were DQ'd at the end of January. Hopefully we'll receive our IL soon. Thanks for checking!

I’m glad your issue was resolved. I got DQ’ed February 14. Do you have any idea how long is the wait for interview at ankara?
