Downloading the latest I-485 directly from USCIS, but it is expired (Expires 09/30/08). Is this safe to use?
-
It doens't seem reasonable to just submit the page about vacciantions from the I-693 and not the rest of the form.

It should be fine if you travel on a tourist visa. My finace did it.
There is a chance that you could be denied a visa if you have to apply. If you are from the UK and don't need a visa, just be honest at the port of entry. The worst thing would be to get caught in a lie which could be considered visa fraud.

As mentioned above, you are well above the income requirements.
You don't need a lawyer. Just follow the guide here and be very thorough. We also use a book from Nolo on Fiance visa which was helpful.

Yous should send the whole I-129 packet. Then you need evidence of the relationship between the approval and interview. Plus the notarized 1-134 and evidence to go with it.

How do we get form I-693A? It doesn’t exist on the USCIS website. Is it just a part of I-693?
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/ then click “immigration forms”

We believe that vaccinations were included in the original medical exam for the K-1, however since it this was always in a sealed envelope, we don’t have a copy of it. Is there a way to check? Would it be safe to submit the AOS without it?

THanks for everyone's help. I was pretty sure we didn't need it, but it's nice to be reassured. So many documents for this process and I'm so worried about missing one.

My finace got a B2 while we were waiting. Be very clear that you completely understand that you cannot get married and remain the US with a tourist visa and that you will go home and wait for the K after your trip.

Everything together with a giant binder clip.

I was going to update mine, but we had to wait a long time to qualify for the j1 home residency that I think it would skew the results.

My fiance was in the US for two years for school, which is how we met.
Does she need a police certificate from the US?
I think the answer is no, but I can't find any difinitive document from our Embassy that says this, although some other countries embassy web sites say so.

A transcript is something you request from the irs using this form. It's a bit more official.
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf
A return is just a copy of what you sent the irs. Of course, someone could just fill in a pdf saying they made a million dollars and use that, so the transcirpt is a bit better.
If you can't get it, they say you can use a copy of the return.

Thanks. That's what I thought.

For some reason, you can't just download a pdf of ds-156. You have to use the online form at https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp
Is that information saved in some record somewhere? Would it be bad to generate a new ds-156 with changed informaiton?

My finacee is coming with her mother when she arrives in the US with a K1 visa.
Her mother has a B2 visa and is only planning on staying two weeks to attend the wedding.
Should she put her mother on the DS-156 question 34 where is asks for persons traveling with her?
-
Thanks. Once again, everyone here has been very helpful.

I know that it's 3 years to citizenship for a spouse of a citizen, but when does the counting start after a K-1 marriage?
The initial green card is only temporary, so does that count or is it 3 year from the permanent green card which would take at least 2 years?
-
Does anyone know if both the entry and exit days count for fulfilling a J-1 home residency requirement?
That is, if arriving in the home country on Monday and exiting on Wednesday, is that 2 or 3 days in the home country?
-

Does anyone have experience with the J-1 2 year requirement?
Specifically is it 2 years out of the US or 2 year directly in the home country?
Let's say, the person took 3 months of trips (to other countries besides the home or US) over the course of the past two years. Does that mean she can't get a K-1 visa until 27 months after leaving the US?
Or does the 2 year requirment only apply to the moment of adjusting status in the US? So the visa can be issues 25 months after leaving, enter the US on month 28 and adjust status after that?
-
Congratulations! I hope ours goes that smoothly.

The passport I used for the I-129F application will expire in a few months. The visa interview will likely happen at a time when this passport has about 2 or 3 months left before expiration. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?
I’m thinking of getting a new one, but am worries that changing passport numbers in the middle of the process might cause more problems.

Congrats! You're a week earlier than us. Let's hope the rest of the process is this easy.
Finding A number on K1 visa
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

There is a number that starts with A followed by 8 digits on the K-1 visa. Is this the famous A number that we need on the AOS forms?
