  1. Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows what the pro's/con's about immigrating australians who are on disability? My mum had a stroke back in 2006 and is taking coumadin (blood thinner).

Its much better if she stays with us here in the states, but I am so concerned about the health insurance here and how absolutely appalling it is. Would she be eligible to get on the disability system here in the states? ( I doubt it, given that she is from australia).

But yea, any ideas or advice?

    Thanks!

  2. Does anyone have a rough idea how much the medical exam and vaccines are going to cost? I called a community clinic and they said $85, but I am not sure they understood what I was talking about because when I called another clinic they said it was going to be about $320. Is that including the shots?

I am so confused. AND I dont even know what is going to happen at the appointment.

BTW I am already in California adjusting status, so this is for USA appointment prices.

Any kinda feedback would be much appreciated!

  3. Hi!

I am going through the same thing. Just include a letter with your application stating the circumstances and they will take it into consideration. I have called and spoken to a few of the representatives on the help line about it. So if you just show that he's in the military and if possible supply a copy of his orders.

Should be fine. Let me know how you go though, or i'll let you know how i go haha.

  4. I just sent in my AOS packet today, after months of preparing it, and while I was double checking the address to send it all, I noticed that the I-485 and I-130 were no longer listed in the immigration forms section on uscis.gov.

ALSO when i did a search on their site for the form, I found it but it said that there's an address change effective on May 27th. I sent it to the old address because it is still before the 27th, so I hope that mine doesn't get left behind or something like that.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with these forms?

Are they changing the process altogether? Or is it just glitches on the website?

I can't even find any change updates there.

I hope that someone knows whats going on!

  6. The B-2 application wont affect the K-1 process.

I answered question no. 36 "NO", the K-1 is considered a Non-immigrant Visa.

I agree with Jesse that is worth to give it a try, I got a new tourist visa a couple of months ago and traveled to the U.S. in december with no problem.

hi im just wandering, how many times can you leave the us once you have a B2 approved?

And can you apply for a K1 after you have already gotten a B2 approved?

As in like, fly to the states, hang out, fly home, apply for K1, then fly back within the same date that the B2 was approved?

  7. Hey Guys!

My fiance and I were supposed to get married this previous December, but because he was transferring from his unit in Okinawa, to a new Unit in San Diego, Neither units wanted to give permission for him to marry a non us citizen until he'd arrived to the next unit.

So instead we went ahead with the ceremony, but only signed commitment certificates.

Now that he's about to get to San Diego, we are just wanting to be together, and live together for the period that he's still in the Marines. He's getting out next March 09, So i only need to be living in the states for about 18 months (if that). But i want to be able to work. We will get married too (because my intention is not to immigrate to the states, but just be with my future husband for the time that he is posted there).

At this stage i am looking at getting a B2 visa, so that i can be there with him, but that excludes me from being able to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has been through a similar situation?

We are getting anxious because we know that petitions should be sent in ASAP.

But like i said, i am not looking to immigrate. Just live with him whilst he's being posted there.
