Just a quick update: My wife had her interview yesterday and was approved! The officer told her at the interview that her visa would be issued. We had initially applied using my assets as my income isn't enough, but even though I showed more than enough liquid cash assets they said I needed a joint sponsor. Thankfully I had already uploaded the joint sponsor into the system along with supporting documents so they had everything they needed. We brought a printed version but they didn't need it. A quick note: We added our joint sponsor AFTER the interview was scheduled so there was no option of adding a joint sponsor in the CEAC system. I simply uploaded all the documents in the sponsor's section and they accepted that. I hope this helps.

My wife's interview is next week and we are going to try to get approved based upon my assets. We have a backup household member (my mother) ready with filled out documents and her financial evidence. We haven't uploaded them to CEAC as I've heard conflicting rumors about the pros and cons of doing this. Does anyone know if it's fine just to bring the physical documents to the embassy instead of uploading? Or is it better to upload even if we're not sure if we'll be using a household sponsor. Thank you.
