Got my oath letter today. It will be on Feb 15th.

foreverido - Congrats! We did not have your interview in the list, so I guess it was today, let me know if that is correct or not. Tell us when you get your oath date. Congrats again!

My naturalization interview is over! It was great. Easy. Fast.

Got to the USCIS office 10 mins before my appointment. Waited in the car for 5 mins. Went in the waiting room with my wife and chilled for about 10 mins. When my name was called my wife shouted, “may the force be with you”…. Everyone laughed, including the interviewing officer. It was sweet because I am a nerd and love that movie (the original, not the “updated” versions).

Anyway, I went in and he asked if the “the force be with you” lady was my wife. I said yes. The entire interview lasted 5 mins. I think he only asked me four civics questions. He didn’t ask for any extra documents (just the regular green card, ID and passport). Done!

Told me oath should be mid February.

Hi! We sent off our package to Vermont last week, and they cashed the check today. Hoping for NOA1 soon, as we filed pretty late in the 90-day window. I guess taking the money is a good sign though!

This is up to the state. You will be considered to be a resident the moment you enter the USA because of the visa type you will be using.
You should be able to get a FL DL shortly after entry to the USA, apply for SSN about 10 days after entry, and use SSN, Passport with I-551 stamp to apply for a FL-DL.

The airpak website doesn't work for me? I enter the data (after i click "Visa Tracking") and click search and nothing happens. Anyone having that problem?

Same thing happened to me...enter the data in and be careful not to click anywhere on the page (outside of the boxes) and then hit return...then it should work. It is super fussy

Hello yardies,
I remember some vet yardies did this process a while back - I'm gonna need some help with filing a tourist visa for my MIL. My FIL owns his own business and their bank records have the information needed to back this up. What else should I send to increase our chances of getting approved?

I think it is all about luck. Ive seen ppl with a lot of money and a great job...and they still didnt get approved. Ive never had a bad experience with the embassy ( getting a visa). They have never asked me for a bank statement or a job letter...just two questions and then i am approved. Just take what you have and be confident and smile.Good luck!

what all did they ask?

Trust me your time is coming up real soon, just make sure u have all the documents they want. The interview was so much easier because my wife came down. all they wanted this morning was the 864A form and tax returns.

I was the second person at the embassy this morning. I got there at 6am and my appointment was at 7am. They give preferential treatment to persons with blue paper, Pregnant women ( have to say women cause they have a pregnant "man" now) and individuals with very young children. That is why it took me 20 mins to get everything done at the embassy. The line was very long for persons trying to get non-immigrant visas.
