Ohhh because my case is ready and I just filled the DS160 and payed for it but it’s still processing. I have no idea what the next step is after that. I’m so confused cause some embassies you can schedule an appointment yourself. I don’t know if I should do my medical now or gather my documentation and have them translated cause I don’t want that to expire as well
No one will do your medical without an appointment letter. At this time just wait. At best collect your police certificates

No way!! It takes that long? So after your payment is received, they send you a invitation letter?
Well, you pay to the NVC and they will send your case to the consulate who would invite you for the interview. It should take 2-6 weeks but took about 4 months for me. That included slow year end so hopefully your's would be faster. And then they give a date about 2 months later - within which you get medical done. So I'd say between payment to interview please expect a 4-6 months interval.

Can I ask you, how did you make an appointment at the Amsterdam embassy? Because I payed for the DS-160, and they haven’t processed it yet. Do they make an appointment for me or should I do it myself? And how long are the waiting times? Sorry for so many questions
After DS-160, I waited and waited and waited for 4-5 months when the consulate invited me with an interview date (with an option to reschedule)

Hey! Any updates? Did you have your interview? How long did it take?
@Niccie my interview is scheduled for March 28th. Will let you know how it goes.

Nice, I am sure your interview will go well and hope you won't get administrative processing, because this is the worst what can happen... Sometimes I wish they just denied me and that's it - I would move on.
I feel you. Going through stupid RFEs myself I feel a yes too late is just a wasted effort. Hope you sail through quickly.

You can always ask your passport back, they will give it to you no problem. When was your interview and what type of visa are you getting?
Okay, good to know. Mine is later, 28th March. Just went through the medical last week. I am getting an EB1.

No, I filed a lawsuit, and the Embassy has a deadline on April 24 2023. If you get DS-5535, file the lawsuit on the next day, do not wait. According to one lawyer, the Biden administration does not fight on the DS-5535 delays (knock on wood) because they took credit for ending Trump's policies. Nothing changed since then, so they keep delays under the carpet and simply print visas.
Ah that's painful. Don't they even give you passport back while waiting for all this drama? Hope you get it soon with the stamping.

@IAG Did you eventually get your passport (and visa) back?
-
@IAG Thanks a bunch. In this case I will have the DS-5535 ready.
-
@IAG Thanks. I will keep my fingers crossed. Also, is there a specific format for 'proof of vaccination' to be cared during medical test? Or is it a bunch of certificates?
-
@IAG hope you get the green card soon. I've heard this in the past. It is frustrating.
Can you share how long was it between your documents completed&verified and receiving the interview letter?

I received the notification of all documents received and verified on Nov 18/2022 and they are waiting for the consulate in Amsterdam to schedule the interview.
What is the current status of interviews. Has anyone recently received the letter?
