  1. My husband is a paramedic, they offered all of the family the h1n1 vac. and he refused it hands down because of all the ####### in it.. Example mercury and Polysorbate causes infertility in mice, and alot more.. Thats are great link of the ingredients... Plus the regular seasonal flu kills more people every year then h1n1 has...

On a side note for the government pushing this vaccine, The president of the USA own daughters have yet to get it.. Say much !!

  2. I'm here on a k-1 visa with my two children.. went sent in our AOS package in April, and we have yet to get our GC or hear anything about the interview. Now my son and I have had our Biometric done, and we got word during the summer that our case was sent to cali, but since then we have heard a single thing. I'm seeing people that sent in their AOS in june and July getting GC or interviews and I'm wondering if i should be calling them to check up on our case or not.

Is there anyone else out there that applied at the sametime as me that hasnt heard anything yet ? Should I be calling them to check on our applications, or wait it out a little bit more ?

  3. My hubby for Valentines Day found the only Timmy's in Indiana and drove us almost two hours to get donuts. The guy there thought I was nuts I was so Happy when I walked in and everything was the same as a Canadian Timmy's. I have found other places like McDonalds, or Subway tastes different have differences, but not my good old Timmy's. We ended up leaving with a dozen donuts, and a box of Timbits( that they call donut holes =/), and a couple cans of Hot Chocolate. It was the best V-day ever cause I was getting very homesick.

  4. The question to ask when it comes to Canadian wedding is, did you fill out a Marriage License... Inorder to get married in Canada you have to get a marriage license before hand to give whoever is doing the cermony. If you filled one out then it is a legal wedding and they have you on record. Also if you are having a minister, justice of the peace or anyone legally able to marry you, you are legally married and no longer fall into the k1 Visa area.

As for your Brother in law who is American, as far as I know he is legally allowed to do weddings in Canada if he is an ordained minister, or justice of the peace, I know my Uncle who is American has done my cousins wedding in Toronto for her. He just had to show he was legally able to do weddings when they sent in for their marriage cert.

If you just booked a regular hall, and this isnt taking place in a church, and you haven't filled out a marriage license then you have time to change it into a engagement party of some sort. Hope this helps some.

This is very helpful and seems to be in line with everything that everyone has been telling me. I don't think we'll have a problem finding someone who is not an ordained minister or justice of the peace, we have not filled out a Marriage License, so that's good...As of right now she was thinking about having it in her church, but I bet we can get that changed pretty easily. It's not a typical church though, as in I'm not sure if we're even having to pay for it.

I'm going to see my lawyer today, so I can see what he thinks about all of this. However, I'm fairly certain he isn't 100% sure.

The resonse seems helpful but it's simply wrong. You've been told by multiple sources that, in Canada, the marriage license and certificate are not actual reqirements for a marriage to be considered legal. This would be true for most places in the world but it is NOT true in Canada. If the officiant is authorized to perform legal marriages with a license, then their marriages are legal even without the license. I've already explained the probable reason for this.

"I don't think we'll have a problem finding someone who is not an ordained minister or justice of the peace..." I'm saying we will use someone who isn't authorized to perform legal marriages. Just find a good friend who is a good speaker, you know?

Again, I'm going to go to my lawyer with all of this information today and decide on either a K-1 or a CR1.

The other Stipulation is that her sister will be having a wedding in Canada in May 2010 and we'd like to be able to go to that without any issues as well.

Yes, your plan will work but the response to which I refer is still misinformation. It does not suggest you find an unqualified officiant. Sounds like you've got your head around the paramenters. Either filing the K1 now or a CR1 after a marriage next fall would be likely to allow attending the May 2010 wedding. Sounds like the bride and her family really want a wedding. I think I'd be thinking in terms of arranging a real one and filing for the CR1 ASAP after.

Its not misinformation what I am saying is any person in Canada able to preform weddings will not in almost all cases do so without a marriage license being filled out before hand. I'm not sure at the amount of time you have to get it before the wedding but I do know unless its a family friend, they wont do it without the marriage license.

Now if it is a family friend they will do the cermony first and then fill out a marriage license after the fact. What I was saying is the only way for it not to be a legal wedding is to have someone not legally allowed to do marriages do it( ie. fake wedding or actor).

So what I was asking is have they already obtained a marriage license cause if they have then they are not able to come down under a K1 Visa cause the wedding would be legal and not fall under the rules of a K1. I agree it seems like your fiancee is wanting to go with a wedding in Canada with family and friends, and maybe another type of visa is the way to go.

  6. Nope it showed me in the system he could find everything but said he was missing a number to order it, cause I didnt have my EAD.. I dont know what the deal is he sent it out and said I should hear something or receive it in 40 days.

My major worry is the insurance, even though we are married and they got the marriage cert. they wont insure any of us. All they or anyone will say is we are " considered out of country" and that we have to apply in July when open enrollment is happening. I have called everyone and cant seem to find out why they are doing this. Its fustrating cause it seems insurance companies in the US can do about anything. The messed up part is if we wait till July there will be no difference in my status in the country at that point but some how they can approve us at that time.

I have looked into to temp. insurance for 6 months and almost all of them I find want an SSN and medical records, they also wont take out of country medical records. So its like people in the country in the right manner, following the rules are getting the run around or go without like an illegal would. I have called and called, asked to be transfered to supervisors or managers, and it isnt getting me anywhere. Im very fustrated at this point !

  7. My husband got off the phone with the person taking care of his insurance through work. And Anthem says they will not accept me on his health care or the children because we are considered out of country regardless to being married and we have to wait until open enrollment.

As for my SSN I went well before my I-94 was going to expire and they still couldnt give me a number, the guy was really nice and even knew that I was allowed one but the computer wouldn't issue it, so he had to fill out the paperwork and had it sent away to the main office or head office. I'm waiting on a answer on my SSN still.

  8. I'm applying for my AOS in a week or so. I'm down here on a K-1 and I'm running into the same old problem everywhere. I cant get on anything, because I'm not a perm residence to the US. I went to the SSN office to get my SSN and they had to mail away cause they said I don't have my EAD so I cant get my SSN. Without my SSN I cant get on any bank accounts, or my licence or anything.

Now most recent after two months of paying and waiting my husbands insurance through his work place ( he's a firefighter/paramedic in Indianapolis) say they can't insure us because of my status in the country is not considered perm. Or that is at least what Anthem is telling him. They are saying we have to wait to July to apply during open enrollment.

My issue is I have two children and they cannot go without insurance. Well I am here and in this situation does anyone know if I can apply for Medicare, Or whatever the government insurance is, for my children? Or is it a bad thing to my AOS to be on any government funded programs? I'm confused at what to do and seems I'm running into to road blocks every which way I turn. This being the biggest :(

  9. Woot I got my Visa on the 4th and left for Indiana on the 6th, got through the port of entry with little trouble and have finally touched down at HOME, that still sounds weird. Im still wondering when its time to leave, not use to the thought that this is my home.

The interview was more nervousness then anything else, but in the end it was painless just alot of hurry up and wait. People in Vancouver where so nice and so pleasant to talk to, you almost forget your in a visa process. Welp thats my Great news, thank you all for all the help along the way, I couldnt have done it without you guys!

  10. I have my interview monday for a K1 visa... we have his w2 as prrof of income along with the letter from work and banking information, My question is Im reading things about 1040's do we need his 1040's too or is the W2 enough for the interview ?

  11. So we are heading to Vancouver sunday for our K1 interview on Monday. Well going through everything I see now I need something called an OF-156, however no matter where I look I cant find this OF-156 or anywhere to download this page.

Am I missing something, does anyone know where I may find this OF-156?

I also found out that as of Nov 1, if you are going to an interview in Vancouver you now need to submit a DS-160 online too. So if you are like me and didnt have anything in your package saying to do it, be sure to go to vancouvers website and do it ahead of time so as to not hit a speed bump. =)
