I have a question. My SIL petitioned for her dad in Jamaica. He had his interview and received a blue slip requesting DNA. Her parents were not married and his name was added on the birth certifcate a few months ago. She is visiting Jamaica in August and wanted to know if it is possible to take the DNA test down there with her Dad since she will be with him. Does anyone know how you can go about scheduling that. I believe it will be a money saver as well...the range for DNA testing here in the US from what i saw was $700-1400...Reading the steps for DNA testing it states that the petitioner has to go thru an AABB accredited clinic and once the sample is sent to the Embassy the Embassy contacts the beneficiary and lets them know what doctor to go to to get their dna tested...so basically i am trying to skip the first part and have the embassy give the name of the doctor in JA that the beneficiary would go to and have the petitioner and beneficiary both take the test in JA???...is this possible???...thanks

Hey yardie people...got a question...i'm filing my I751 removal of conditions for hubby and he got into a lil altercation with some dude at his job where he got arrested and fingerprinted and watever...the charges where dropped but since he did get fingerprinted and his biometrics is coming up do you think this will still show on his records???...

Hey guys...i am an october filer...dont remember exactly when i received the NOA1 but i sent it on Oct 16th...I have a question...has anybody been able to view their case status on the USCIS website???...when i enter my receipt number it is still showing that they have no records ???

Oh I spent a small fortune at Old Navy online yesterday for Tierra. I got her so many new spring clothes! I cannot wait until they get here. I love shopping for that girl!

Now I just hope it gets here in less than 10 days!

I am already starting with my little one...she has tons of clothes already and no where to wear them to... ...I was like that with my son too though when he was young...he would have every color diesel sneaker out there to match his hat and shirt...(the leather diesel sneaker were my fav back then for kids)...I'm not like that anymore with him cause he doesn't know how to take care of his stuff...In one day his sneakers would look like they were five years old...

I had my daughter natural...i just had an IV so i wouldn't get dehydrated but no epidural or spinal tap or anything like that...I started having contractions 6:am...I weighted it out...took a shower...drove my son to school....(this was dumb I admit cause the contractions would hit hard and I had to pull to the side until it stopped)...coming back home I had to make my husband drive cause i couldn't take the pain anymore...(he didn't have a license but i was willing to take the chance)...I had him drive me to my doctors office and he checked me and said to meet him at the hospital...Still tried to ride out the contractions and finally went to the hospital by 12:30pm...they hooked me up, water broke at 2:pm and had baby at 2:38pm...

Don't make me beat you today too!

Oh, hell.....that one is just too easy. I'm just going to walk away from it!!!!

These guys have it too easy! Has that improved at all?

I mean like i said before he would just take out the trash and wash dishes if you beg him too...he sometimes would clean up our room but that if he is in the cleaning mood...and he would cook if he feels like it or if I ask him to make me cornbeef and dumplings...(so love that dish)...but other than that no...I always do the laundry but I don't put away his clothes he has to do that...I just put away my clothes and my son's clothes...

Honestly i don't mind it cause my father and brothers are like that...so its not like it is something new...my twin he would do the laundry and clean and stuff but he has to feel in the mood to do it...if not he would have his wife or if she doesn't do it my mother would...

I was trying to keep from getting him sick but now I feel mean & cranky & hope he gets sick! I'm going to have to start giving him specific chores because he's been slacking lately. I feel a way when I read about your guys who take out the trash....he doesn't even do that! I usually take it out at night the morning before pick up & inevitably he's already been asleep an hour so trying to get him to do anything at night is futile.

LMAO...everytime you ask him to do something around the house he will sing that chorus...it would be funny but he would definitely get the cold shoulder when he wants something from me...

You have to pull teeth and nails for him to do stuff...but with him when he use to live in JA he didn't have to do much...he can cook but if he didn't feel like it his mother lived right up the street and he would get it from her...he would sometimes pay people to wash his clothes and there was no such thing as taking out trash...he would just throw in out in the backyard and burn it...and his room would stay a mess...everything is on his time and when he feels like doing stuff...

We talked about it and he at least takes out the trash when its time for pick up and he would wash the dishes if you beg him...

That sounds just like my youngest mi neva think he break out of that but slowly but surely he is outgrowing that mess but snot soon enough!

Hey...Good Morning to everyone...can i tell that i never ever been to haiti...sad isn't it...my father been back once since he been here which is over 30yrs now and that was maybe 16yrs ago...same with my mother...she went back once only too because her brother passed away and never been back since and that was about 20 yrs ago...I always wanted to go but my parents (well more my mom) are scared...my mom had an auntie who went back not to long ago maybe 5 yrs ago and she got kidnapped...We all had to put in money for her ransom so they can let her go free...they didn't do anythig to her...her husband is a doctor so she think she got targeted because of that...my mom always say though that when it gets better she will go back...but she has been saying that for years now...my cousin went out there a few months ago and he said it was nice just really really hot...

Hey Philly....my mom is trying to get her sister and three kids over here...she is trying to find a good lawyer (and cheap) so they can process the visa paperwork...its going to be a lot for my mom though...her sister doesn't work and her three kids are all young...my mom and my aunt were the ones taking care of her and her kids back in Haiti....it will be harder for her if when they are here.....but its too crazy for them to be out there...Its tough...

Good Morning Everyone....I have a quick question...I have a friend who is a PR but been living here for over 20yrs...he renews his PR card but now wants to be a citizen...his PR card has expired since November of last year...does he still have to renew his PR card or can he just file the forms for citizenship???...

Congrats Stone on the beautiful baby girl! I was just checking out your FB yesterday wondering what was up & about the baby but saw no pics. Glad all is well with each of you. I'm not sure I'd want my infant without me either...at least not before at least the first year or something. Why don't you get to go?

Quick update: Hubby just called from down in the lobby of my work. He LOVED it & wanted to say sorry about yesterday for having attitude & that the class was great! I'm heading out for a little celebratory lunch across the street at Chevy's with him! TTYL!

I just went back to work on maternity leave this Jan and we are planning a family trip in Dec so I don't want to do both...Idk...will see cause hubby does want me to go and his brother is buying his ticket so we just have to worry about mine and baby is free...i guess its still up in the air...

I'm happy ur hubby likes his school...hubby was doing the library thing but had to stop because of work...i do want him to go back but want to look for more of a school setting cause the library to me was kinda slow paced...the college around me has AL classes too and its free ( ) but there is a waiting list...i help him at home so he is ok for now but its really not enough...hubby needs a little push himself...he's the type if he sees you are not stressing it he won't stress it either even if its suppose to benefit him...

As most of you know i had my baby girl Hailey...she is a little over 3mths now...she is a gem if i do say so myself... ...doesn't cry much and sleeps through the night (starting at 2mos)...she laughs a lot and is always smiling...I'm going to post a pic on my facebook...haven't been on that either...but will post a pic there for ya'll to see her...

Philly i saw your message on facebook via my cell phone but my cell phone is acting up so couldn't reply...my mom has a sister who is still in Haiti with her 3 kids...she is ok but they are sleeping on the streets because they are too scared to sleep in their house since they are still having tremors...my mom wants to try to get her kids over here...so she wanted me to see if there is anything out there that will allow family members of american citizens for urgent visas for loved ones in haiti...let me know if you know anything about that...

Adjustment update: Me and hubby are still going strong...he is still working at his job and still working on my nerve...sometimes...but all in all we are happy...he is planning to go to JA in April cause his brother in Canada is throwing a party in JA and wants him to come down with him...He wants to bring the baby but not sure if i feel comfortable yet with him traveling down there by himself with her...especially since he is going to do a lot of running around...his mom could watch her...but still...to me she is still too young...

Nope didn't drop yet...she does not want to come out....so opposite of my son...he was ready a little too early and couldn't wait to come out...had him at 33 weeks....am going to be 38 weeks this coming saturday...I want this to be over...at least this friday will be my last day at work before i go on maternity leave.....soooo looking forward to that...

Hey....the baby is good...oh i should state this...one of my wayyyyy earlier post i said my baby was breeched...had a doctor's appointment this pass saturday and happy to announce that she is in position....yayyyy.....hubby was with me and he was happy too....even though he doesn't really see anything wrong with having a c-section...i had family members and friends who had c-section and they say the aftermath is very painful...so i really don't want to go through that...i had my son naturally and was up and about within the week...with a c-section i don't think that will be possible...

Thanks all for the do-it-yourself procedures...i would love to do the swimming one...have to join the YMCA or something...but for now i think i'll try the tilting, the flashlight, and the music...I also heard that babies like warmth so if i put a cold packet on top of my stomach where the baby head is she will move away from it and turn back down...We will see if any of these work...I have less than 7 weeks to make sure it does...crossing my fingers....

Went to my doctor's appointment for my baby checkup this saturday and to my surprise the doctor told me my baby is breeched...her head is up to my chest and her feet is down...she was in position on my visit before this one so within the 3 weeks between she decided to move.... ...doctor said if she does not turn back to position by the time i am suppose to give birth then i am going to have to do a c-section...I really really do not want a c-section....

Any wives tale on how to turn breech babies back to position...I'll try anything....my doctor said to play soft music and put the headphones down there and she will move towards the music....

In regards to Mrs.Buggy question...its funny cause the other day hubby and i were discussing if we decided to move where would we like to live...and hubby actually suggested to live in a predominately white neighborhood...

where we live now is mostly black and hispanics...and we live around a lot of carribean folks, mainly trinidadian and jamaicans...when he describes our neighborhood to his friends from back home he will say its like a mini kingston...and that is because of the people we know...they forever have war stories and since hubby has been here is saw one of my friends..someone he hung out with a few times get killed and he was hubby's age...he went to the funeral...

so even though at first he liked it over here cause he was around his "people" he doesn't like it now...he says he wants a place were he can live and rest his head not worrying about certain things and when he feels like going out or partying he will just visit the old neighborhood....i don't really care because i'm like Quana very anti-social...i will say hi and goodmorning but will keep it moving after that....

I guess hubby has a prejudice mind thinking that living around minorities is bad while living with only whites is good...and i told him that its not always the case and our area is actually pretty good...we just know certain things that go around because of the crowd we keep...we are hardly on the news or anything like that... ....Well i remember one time our area were on the news...a girl in her 20s and her 5 year old daughter was murdered by her cousin...her cousin was mentally ill and a crack head...he killed them because he got into an argument with the girl and she spit in his drink...that made him see red...that was all over the news because at first the cousin told the police it was the baby father but the building had survelliance and they found out it was lie and caught the cousin...

So, we received the VISA. We are soooooo happy. Very quick!So next steps.

Please tell me if the operational process for the next steps in correct.

1. When he arrives at the point of entry, they will stamp his passport with ________________________ (EAD Stamp or something else)? Yes they will stamp his passport with Date of Entry and I believe it states I-551 which means he is eligible to work but since he is coming in on a CR-1 visa he is automically a permanent resident and will get his SSN# in the mail.

2. We dont dont have to apply for the conditional greencard, it will come to us automatically, my mail? Yes, it will automatically come to you by mail.

3. For those of you that did get it by mail, how long did it take to come, from POA? It took my hubby 1 month to get his permanent resident card.

4. Go to the Social Security Office to apply for SS Card? My hubby had no problem receiving his SSN and we didn't have to go to the SS office to apply...hubby actually got his SSN two weeks after POE in the mail.

5. Do we need to bring anything besides the passport to the SS office? Not sure never had to do this. On the DS-230 there was a box you check requesting to submit application for SSN so you don't have to go to the SS office...if you checked it you should get your SS card by mail...but i have seen a few people having to go the SS office even though the box was checked...We were fortunate that we didn't have to

6. Once the conditional green card is received we relax until 90 days before expiration date then we remove conditions? Correct!!!!!

Quick Question:

Does the immigration officer at POA give you the green card? Someone told me they do, but I dont think thats correct? Nope you get it in the mail...

Does he need an AP to travel or the green card is enough? Green card and passport is all you need to travel
