Well, USCIS is full of surprises... As I said, my second CPO was on June 15th, and yesterday I got my card in the mail without any "Approval notice sent" prior to it... Guess what? Today I got an e-mail from USCIS saying that they sent approval notice today, June 23d! I wonder what they sent - another green card?
-
His GC arrived today!! What a total relief!! We now have a small break before removing conditions. LOL!!
Paul&Rochelle, my congratulations!!! I totally understand your feelings since I got my GC today too!!! By the way, I noticed that our interviews were on the same day as well! Now we can relax till February 2011
-
Have AOS interview Thursday. What do I need to bring and what will they ask us both? How should we prepare?
Thanks
Roland
Roland, there is a lot of information on VJ about getting ready for the interview. You can also look here: http://www.***removed***/greencard/bona-fid...umentation.html
Basically, you need to bring any documents proving your real marriage and living together. This is the list of what we had:
- Joint taxes for 2008
- Utility bills for both names
- Statements from the joint bank account
- Lease agreement for both names
- My husband's life insurance where I was a beneficiary
- Our medical insurance
- Car insurance with my name included
- Letters from relatives and friends for both names
- Our wedding and other pictures
They might ask you some standart questions about how you met, about your relative (parents), your wedding, your marriage life... It all depends on the officer. For example, our interview was extremely easy, the IO only asked several qustions about my medical exam, then we talked about our wedding and plans for the future. It was more like a friendly conversation that the interview. She didn't ask ANY of the documents and only looked through our wedding and other albums.
Hopefully, your interview will be easy as well Good luck!!!

Woohoooo!!!! I got my card in the mail today!!! Thanks God, what a relief! By the way, it was ordered in production on 15 June and I never got "Approval notice sent" message... So, everybody who is still waiting, cheer up - yours are on the way!
-
By the way, guys, what issue date is on your cards - the one when you were actually approved or some later date?
The date of first approval, the one closer to the interview.
Map1map, thanks! This is what I was hoping for
-
hey you I think the reason why we wont get the card til tomorrow or tuesday is cuz we live all the way out in CA (i'm guessing you do too cuz ur local office is the same as mine.).
Yep, I guess we live not too far from each other I think you will get your GC the latest on tuesday and I will be waiting for mine, too (or at least for "Approval notice sent" message)
-
Congratulations to everybody who got their physical GCs!!! By the way, guys, what issue date is on your cards - the one when you were actually approved or some later date?
I got my second CPO e-mail on 15 June, and was touched again on 16th (but the status didn't change). I a kind of hoped that this touch meant that the card had been mailed but I guess I was mistaken - no card in the mail yet
-
By the way, was there any official announcement about it on USCIS website?
-
Cino, thank you for sharing this good news! Hopefully all of us who have been affected by this delay will get the GCs within the next few days
-
As many of us, I also got my second "card production ordered" email (the first one was exactly 30 days ago). I do hope that it is a good sign and they finally are done with their remodeling
-
Probably this last one means that they mailed you physical GC... What exactly does this notice say? If it says something like: Approval notice sent - it means that your GC is the way
-
I was wondering about the delayed too but the interviewing officer told me and my hubby that the card production will last up to 3 months so, he stamped my passport and he told us that I should be fine with the stamp and I can even use it for employment and travel. After that, I applied for my licensure in our state since they required permanent residency. The bad thing was, they won't accept the passport stamp..so rediculous! They told us that we have to wait for the welcome letter or the GC for the basis! So stupid! Now, which is more important, the 1yr residency stamp or the welcome letter which only states "welcome to america"? But anyways, I already received the welcome letter and have applied for my licensure at the school district. Im just wondering why there is so much delayed for card production. My AOS was approved May 19th.
If there's much delay, I hope they will grant us 10yrs residency! I will not mind for the delays then if i get this! who knows?
Hey,
agree with you. I still check the mail everyday, but deep inside I really would love for the delay to get me a 10yr GC. :-)
The bad news is that we will be getting the type of card that was approved at the interview (as map1map already mentioned). But the good news is that the date on the card will be also the date of approval (doesn't matter when you get it in a mail), so we actually are already on the way to the removal of conditions
-
Congrats - tinkerbelluk.
I see a flurry of cards being received by folks that were approved by CSC.
Yes, I noticed that too. I know the girl who was approved after me (her case was at CSC) and she got her card yesterday. I wonder, do they print their cards in different place?
-
TheATeam, thanks for the great news and congratulations!!! Hopefully, they have started the process again and all of us will get our GCs within the next couple or three weeks
-
Loor at the link in this topic: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=199623
USCIS finally came up with an official announcement! Even though they mention only permanent resident cards, I guess it affects us the same way... They say delays are up to 8 weeks
-
I had the interview 2 weeks ago - no card yet, even though the information on the site says that it was ordered in production on 15 May, and I got my Welcome notice on 21 May. Looks like really there are some delays though it mostly affected the ones who are removing the conditions (which is discussed in the link given above). But I know several people from the other forum who had their AOS interviews on first and second weeks of May and none got the physical GC yet What surprises me is that there is no official information on USCIS site... If there going to be the delays why not to announce about it so that people are at least informed??? And now all we know are just rumours... Well, there is nothing to do but wait, and of course to call USCIS if there is still no card after 30 days from card production date.
-
Congratulations, Dbears!!! Well, it is frustrating that they lost your medical but the most important is that you were approved! Just send them the new one and I'm sure you will get your GC pretty soon after that
-
Rajemr, you need to calm down! What makes you think that your husband might do something bad to you when you go to the mountains??? If you have some real reason to think so, then please don't go there with him! Well, I don't know your relationship and don't have the right to advise you anything... but I do hope that these are just your fears because you getting very nervous about your AOS case. I do know that the delays in processing the cases happen quite often and I don't think that your husband cancelled the case because otherwise they would have told you something about it when you called USCIS. You can make an infopass appoinment by going to the site: https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php
You insert you zip code, find the local office and choose the available date.
Hang in there and good luck to you!

well... i heard that the GC will take between 6-12 months because they are remodeling the design of the card... have any of you hear that?
That's the first time I've ever heard about that! I don't think it's true since I know at least several people who have been getting their cards lately. I got my Welcome letter today (a week after the interview) which states that I will be getting the card within the next 3 weeks. They normally give the longest time, so I hope to get it a little earlier
Well my friend had her interview today in San Diego, and the Interviewer told her that... and they stamped her passport. So I don't know...
It is really strange... I had an interview a week ago in San Diego area too, but IO told us that I would be getting the card within 30 days. I also know 2 girls who had their interviews just yesterday (one in LA, another in NY), and none of them were told about any delays. So, let's hope that we will be getting our GCs pretty soon
-
I understand that there is a delay on card production, hence the reason you haven't received the GC as yet.
Kloyclay, did you see that information on USCIS site? Is there any link?

I don't feel safe there and secure with him for even here, he does things bad on me! huh! I don't really know if am gonna make this life going?! no hope, for i don't have any news still since we sent of RFE! i am losing hope!
I am thinking if he did cancelled it and I am waiting for nothing! guys what should I do if he did dad?! all he wants is to used me and be his slave, sex slave the most! he thinks that I am using him but ######! how can i use him that I don't even have any access to any of his accounts?! am flat broke, hopeless and drepress! GOD HELP ME WITH THIS?! HUH!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL HAVE SUCCEED THIER AOS JOURNEY HERE!! GOD BLESS US ALL!!
rajemr
Rajemr, I feel so sorry for you and your situation I think only you can decide if you want to stay with your husband or move forward without him. If you choose the second option then you need to decide if you want to go home or still stay in this country. If you do want to stay, the only way to do it is to wait for the green card and only then start the divorcing process (you will be able to remove the conditions without your husband I beleive but it will be a little more difficult).
I don't think that your husband cancelled the case. If it has been more than 60 days after USCIS got your reply to RFE, you can call them and make an inquiry or arrange an infopass appointment. Don't wait anymore, it's the time to take some actions!
I wish you the best of luck and do hope that everything will work out well for you!

Alex&Rachel, congratulations on the successful interview! Very happy for you guys that everything went so smoothly!
Marikiya_dhr, normally the card arrives in 2-3 weeks but I guess it depends... By the way, our IO said that we would get it within 30 days. Did you check the status of your case on-line? Mine changed to 'Card production ordered" just one day after the interview.
-
Thank you for congratulations guys! Today the on-line status changed, now saying "Card production ordered" Am I supposed to get the welcome letter first and the GC some time after that?

It is just their online system that is far from being perfect... I first got CPO email on 15 May, my second one was on June 15th - but it was due to the delays because of the equipment remodeling. Then I got my card in the mail on June 22. And yesterday I got another e-mail from USCIS saying that they sent approval notice (which means GC) on June 23d! I wonder what they sent - another green card?
So, just relax and expect your GC in a week or so!
