I am confused please help regarding AOS

My fiance arrived on 08/19/2008 and her k1 visa expiration date was 11/12/2008. We got married on 10/24/2008 which is before 90 days deadline. We didn't apply for AOS yet because of the high fee and now I am preparing my forms. Recently I read somewhere to apply as soon as possible before k1 visa expiration and I didn't know. I thought as long as you marry within 90 days then you can apply for AOS anytime you want. Please help me.

Hi Everyone,

I am in process of booking tickets for my fiance and she is holding a K-1 visa. She lives in Afghanistan and she will be traveling from KABUL to DUBAI and from DUBAI to either (FRANCE or GERMANY) and from there to SAN FRANCISCO. I don't think she can get a direct flight from DUBAI to SAN FRANCISCO, so my question is does she needs a transit visa? What countries don't need a transit visa. Anyone who went through this please help. I need to book my tickets ASAP.

My fiancee's petition is approved and now I am in process of buying my tickets. The other day a travel agent told me that since she is coming with a K-1 she needs a direct flight. My finacee lives in Afghanistan. Here is the flight route:

Kabul -----> Dubai

Dubai -----> (England) or (France) or (Germany) or (Holland)

(England) or (France) or (Germany) or (Holland) ---------> San Francisco

Is it possible for a K-1 visa holder to go through indirect flights. Please help.

Hi All,

My fiancee's interview was on May 13th, 2008 and she got approved. They gave her a red slip and the visa officer told her to come back on May 15th for her visa. She was very nervous, but with the help of Allah everything went smooth. She was only interviewed by an American visa officer and he asked her a few simple questions.

1. Who is your petitioner?

2. Where does he live? Give full address

3. What does your fiance do?

4. When was engagement? and where it took place?

5. When was the last time you saw your fiance?

My fiancee is fluent in english, so she had no problem except she was nervous.

I just want to take my time to thank all the people here in this forum specially Gohar for his help answering alot of my questions. Gohar, I hope your fiance get her visa soon, Insallah.

congratulations to both of you for receiving the visa. Inshallah the AP will be over sooner than 6 weeks. Was the Visa office Male or Female? and how long was the interview?

I was wondering what type of additional proof of relationship you mailed with your packet 3.5 e.g engagement pictures, passport stamps, phone calls? Please explian. What kind of Evidence of Engagement to your fiance they re asking for? What about photos? Did you send 2 U.S size passport photos? Also you mentioned in your previous post that "You need to mail EACH of these ORIGINAL documents IN AND 1 COPY of EACH DOCUMENT". Our direction doesn't say anything regarding copies. By copies you mean copies of Form DS-156, DS1-56K, DS-230 (Part1) and DS-157?

I just receieved this booklet which had all the forms in it and I had to tear all the forms after filling. I am a bit confused. Please help

I recently mailed my packet 3.5 stuff to ISL Embassy and hoping everything goes well. I was wondering wether you have received Packet 4 yet. If you did recieve packet 4, could you please let me know how long till you get packet 4 and what's inside packet 4. I am also applying for K1 visa. Thanks

This question is for you. I just received packet 3.5 from ISL for K-1

Two Forms DS-156 (Should I answer all questions and sign it?)

One Form DS-230 Part I (Should I answer all questions in part 1 only and do I need to sign all of it?)

One Form DS-156K (Should I sign this after answering the questions?)

Which of these documents I need to mail and which ones I need to take with me for the interview.

What other documents I need to send them besides these ones?
