  1. Hi everyone

I received my EAD card in the mail today and despite all the correspondence I’ve received from USCIS being with my changed name after marriage (K1 immigrant) the name on my card has my old name on it.

I know I can send it back for error correction but I’ve heard so many horror stories of it taking several months for people to get replacement cards. I have a US ssn and a US issued drivers license with my new legal name on it and my original passport with my birth name on it.

Would this be a problem if I apply for a job and the name on the card doesn’t match my ssn/drivers license? Since I can prove my identity with old ID with birth name on it

I’d really like to avoid sending the card back and waiting god knows how long before I’m able to seek employment

    Thank you!

  2. Hi everyone,

My K1 visa got issued last week and my fiancé and I are trying to plan the flights for when I get the visa. I'm a little bit unsure on what to plan for in terms of layovers at the US port of entry because I keep getting conflicting info regarding how long it takes going through customs on a K1 visa. Some say it can take a couple of hours and some say it doesn't take much longer than flying in on an ESTA or regular tourist visa?

Anyone got experience with this and what should I expect?

    Thank you!

  3. Basically title, my fiancé and I are waiting for the US embassy to process my K1 visa and we're looking at flight prices.
One way tickets to the US are around $1600 were as round trip tickets are $950 or less. Is it gonna be an issue if I buy a round way trip and only use one part of it?

I don't really care if the airline sanctions me but more concerned about the customs officer seeing my round way trip and getting funny ideas.

That's really rough... I'm guessing you're planning on filing an extension for your NOA2 approval. I think I might have to do that, since I just found out we will need additional information from the Haitian government in the form of a police certificate. Who knows how long that can take.

Could you elaborate a bit more on how to file for an extension? I sent out another public inquiry request this morning and praying for good news but not getting my hopes up

I just got a response this morning and they say haven't received our application from the USCIS either. They said it can take up to 6 weeks, which you are obviously well beyond, for an application to arrive. I was told to check the processing times, and as of April 24 they are working on cases they received from the USCIS on April 14th. But since my case hasn't been received at all it doesn't seem to matter what the timeframes are.

However, the email response from the NVC said that I can send them a scanned copy of my NOA2 letter to nvcresearch@state.gov, which they will then contact the USCIS to find the petition. Before sending them the email I just have to check the contents of my NOA2 to verify that they said they sent the approved application to the NVC.

Yeah that's exactly what we did. The response we got after that was that they would contact USCIS but will not give us any running updates so we're still completely in the dark here until we one day get a response

  6. We're basically in the same boat. Haven't heard anything from NVC since we got our NOA2 on Feb 17th.

We tried public inquiry then emailed them after 30 days. Sent a second email after 60 days to the research@nvc email and they told us they still hadn't received anything but would look into it. We're getting close to almost 90 days now without any updates from NVC and it's so frustrating

    Hello December Data Followers ...
There is just too much activity to report only 2x a week so I am changing my current status report to M-W-F (especially since there is considerable RFE activity on Saturday and late updates sometimes on Fridays (after 7PM PST).  Weird
Burndown's will be compared from Fri-Mon Fri-Wed, and Fri-Fri for those looking to track USCIS Progress even though there seems to be no rhyme or reason at this point

Thank you for all the data you're sharing, it's a big help!

If I may ask, is there a reason that Dec 25-26th is omitted, our receipt date is the 26th so was wondering what that was about

  9. Hi,

I recently moved as part of a new job, my fiancé (Petitioner) and I (Beneficiary) filed our I-129F in december 2021 and we're still waiting for USCIS to look at our case.
We're a bit stumped on whether or not we need to notify USCIS about my new address since the form we sent in has my now old address on it.

We've searched online a lot and really can't find any proper information about it, only info we find is if the petitioner move and not the beneficiary. We also tried EMMA on the USCIS site and she was (unsurprisngly) not very helpful either.

Do we need to take any sort of action here or do we get another opportunity to confirm the mailing address when it moves to the local embassy?

    Thanks in advance!
