  1. I went to another SSN office.  They said they aren't even going to look at my case.  They checked the system and saw that there was a case processing at the other SSA office already.  So I'm stuck with my appointment to finish my application for the SSN.

  2. I went to SSA today to get a SSN for K1, <10 days from POE.  SSA office says their system doesn't allow filing for SSN until after >10 days from POE.  Just a FYI as I see some other people mentioned they did SSN within 1 - 2 days of POE.  I'm sure it worked out for them, but I think some SSA office have different guidelines.

Both the petitioner and the beneficiary need to submit a signed statement of intent to marry within 90 days of US entry.  Did you both submit one with the I-129F?  With the right magic words?

Yes.  Two separate intent to marry letters that were signed.  My RFE acknowledged they received signed intent to marry letters.

However, they state that wasn't enough and asked for proof with plans, engagement ring, and etc. that I mentioned.

I know the VJ forum is still stuck in the pre-2020 ideas all is needed is the two VJ intent to marry template letters signed.

I noticed there has been more posts talking about the intent to marry requiring more proof:

Chinese WeChat has been discussing this also.  A lot of people now have to submit engagement ring photos, description of plans, WeChat logs, and etc.

Not sure.  Perhaps it depends on the country where the fiancé is at?

Yes! I thought I would have to wait the 60 days also..it could also just depend on what the RFE is. Definitely worth a shot.

What was your RFE?  Mine was intent to marry.  I submitted the forms I seen on Visa Journey, but the RFE states that wasn't enough.  I needed engagement ring photos, text logs, how we first met,  wedding plans, and additional proof of our relationship.

It was weird as VJ forum recommended against submitting this stuff.  Though, the RFE asked for all this.

Just got approval after responding to RFIE on Nov. 29th. Sent in a case inquiry two days ago (the earliest they would allow me to) hoping it would get them to look at my case again and it worked.

Approve as in for NOA2??  Interesting.  I thought you have to wait 60 days after RFE is received to sent in a inquiry.  I'll try sending an inquiry soon then also!

Thanks for your updates.  Everytime I see a denial, my heart hurts.  The couple has waited 15 months just to see a denial.  I don't know how a relationship can survive this.
