  1. Hello everyone...I am a bit perplexed and confused now re the AOS process. My husband has received his AP and EAD at the end of January 09 and we were waiting for the interview which I was told could be several more months (perhaps during the summer since we applied for AOS at the end of November). We never received notice for an interview however, last week he received his green card! Is this the process for it? When do we go for an interview? Or is that something we do before our 2 years is up? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

  3. Hi Visajourney,

It's been a while and seems like this process will never be completed! Ok, so my husband and I completed and submitted his AOS back at the end of November 2008. We have since then, completed the Biometrics, received the EAD card, and the Travel Document. As of now, we have not received any news on an interview. Do we call? Is it this long? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Seems like the normal. I also sent mine startof november and have done the same as you and have not heard anything. My case has also been transfeered to the california office.

One thing you can do is creat an onlinbe account on their website, thiseems to show the last time someone worked on your case. Mine was last touched on the 12/5.

As far as i know you will not hear anything until 6 to 7 months. Not sure of the accuracy of the dates on their website either.

Thank you for sharing. The last time his AOS was touched was on 3/5/09. I also double checked the timeline and seems like they're working on Sept. 2008 cases. I started to panic for a moment there because some of the vjfamily members were getting interviews and we didn't. Ok...I'll just be patient and wait again!!

  5. Hi Visa Journey family,

My husband and I are in the final stages of AOS from a K-1, but as usual my wonderful government manages to confuse me one more time. I know he doesn't need another medical as he did that in Naples, Italy while awaiting for his K-1 interview. What am I suppose to submit? He does have the signed document detailing his shots. Is that what they want? A copy of that? Can anyone clarify for me.

Thanks to everyone on this wonderful forum for all the help.

He has to have a USCIS designated civil surgeon transfer the vaccination info to the I-693 . You submit it with the I-485

How can I get one to transfer this?

  7. Hi VJ members...I'm utterly confused! Here I thought the K-1 Visa process was difficult...this is crazy! Anyhow, my fiance arrived on August 28 and he was able to get a Temp EAD which will expire on 11/26. We will have our civil ceremony on 11/7 and the goal is to get a copy of our certificate asap.

I'm confused and any help from the VJ family will be greatly appreciated!

    These are my questions:

    1) While applying for AOS, we will need to apply for a permanent EAD. Does this mean that he cannot work until he gets the permanent EAD? How long does this take? Is there any way that I can expedite the EAD? He finally got a job and will be starting on Monday. Can I do that right now or does this defeat the purpose?

    2) They required a translated version of his Birth Certificate. His is in Italian, how do I go about getting one translated? Or any advice on where to go or how some of you have done it.

Any help you provide is greatly appreciated!

  8. Hi VJ family members, hopefully someone can answer this question for me. Does my fiance have to enter JFK to obtain an temporary EAD or can he enter through LaGuardia and then take a taxi over to JFK to obtain an temp EAD. The goal is then to fly from JFK to Milwaukee. At this point, this is the only flight arrangement that we have available. Since he's scheduled to fly in this Thursday, your help is much appreciated.

  9. Hi VJ family members, great news to share! My fiance went to the consulate in Naples this morning for the medical interview and ended up also having the other interview immediately. He was surprised by it! I was surprised by it! Anyhow, our application has been approved and he's set to pick up his Visa tomorrow. One hurdle over with and now on to the next one, but at least he'll be here. Thanks to everyone for all the advices and well wishes. I couldn't have gone through this process without meeting so many wonderful people on this forum.

Take care and godspeed to everyone!

    Best,

  10. Hi VJ family members. It's been a while since I've posted. Life has been crazy! However, I do want to thank all of you during this crazy I-129F process. It was frustrating at times, but having met some of you here has certainly helped make things much more bearable. I do want to share with all of you that my fiance has an interview on August 21 in Naples, Italy. We're both excited! Though, it's hard to believe that this process is almost over after having waited for what felt like an eternity. I'm shipping off my portion of the financial and all is fair game after this point. I'm sure it'll be fine, but one can never be too sure. Well, keep us in your prayers that all will work out. Just a few words to those starting out or are still waiting...hang in there...there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    Godspeed to everyone...

  11. The requirement for the I-129F is that you have met personally within the last 2 years. We put a brief description of how we met in the first place, then a little information on the subsequent times we'd spent time together.

    Thanks for the help

so if I just put on the form that....

I met Donesa through an introduction agency and started writing to her in June of 2006 and then visited her on 4 different occasions in the Philippines, in January 2007, November 2007, April 2008 and July 2008.

This will suffice, or will i need a bot more detail about each trip, where we went and what we did etc?

Thanks again for all the help

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

That's pretty much what I wrote and then indicated on the petition to refer to the photos and plane tickets et al of our meeting.

  12. Hi VJ family, it's been a while since I've participated on this forum. I hope everyone is doing well and that your K1 Visa process is moving along. My question is regarding the Affidavit of Support. I just accepted a position with the same title and more money with a start date of July 21. The goal is for my fiance to schedule his interview early to mid August. Which means I would have only been on the job for about 2 weeks before I DHL all paperwork. My income is more than sufficient, but the concern is the timing of the new job. Does anyone have experience with this and the potential problems? I suspect that if I submit 3 years of tax transcript and a letter from my new employer of how much I earn then I don't need to submit any check stubs (if I have any). Your thoughts and experiences are much appreciated.

  14. Finally, received Packet 3! I couldn't believe it. I inquired via email to the embassy and just like nothing they sent me a zip file of Packet 3; only after 2 weeks of me receiving my notice from NVC. I actually was questioning it for a moment. Finally after all this time...we are finally moving. Thanks to everyone on this forum for providing such wonderful and invaluable advices and words of comfort. It certainly has helped me during the first 4.5 months of waiting for my NOA2.

Godspeed to all of you who are still on this journey...there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel (though, not much patience).

    Take care!

  15. Greetings VJ family member. I have a question which I hope some of you might be able to answer because I'm clueless. I inquired via email to the Embassy in Naples Italy to see if they have received my I-129F Petition yesterday. This morning I received an email from someone there saying "Please refer to the attached information packet." Which is a zip for Packet 3. Does this mean that it's my packet 3 and we should proceed with it? That's what I asked them. No answer yet. Your help is appreciated.
