  1. My wife has her interview scheduled for September 13, which means her 6 month window to enter the USA will expire a few days before our 2nd anniversary, assuming that 6 month window starts from the interview date. Does anyone know if that’s the case or  is there a delay in processing a  passport as it typically takes awhile to receive it back after the interview from what I’ve read? It is possible to reschedule the interview with cause, but does anybody know how feasible that option is?

Thank you! Hopefully, we will get it next week.

    Another question:

I have sent through the I-864 form + Financial paperwork of my joint sponsor with the I-130 form. Do I need to ask my joint sponsor for updated paperwork?

my wife is the applicant and has been living in Australia for the last 17 years and got an active bank account (since 2017) and we have also enrolled my son in school in the US. Is that enough to show intention to move + domicile?

You did the i-864 when you submitted the i130 paperwork a year ago? As NVC is a separate entity and they often want the most recent financial records to prove that the assets are stable and not temporary just to get above the threshold I'd suggest updating the paperwork to NVC. I would think enrolling your son in a US school would be pretty strong evidence of intent and certainly as an intending immigrant opening a bank account in the USA would help. But I think only the sponsor (you and your joint) need to prove domicile in the USA (I assume you are the American citizen?). In our case, I am the sponsor but have been living with my wife in Italy for the past year while we are going through this process. I maintain my sole financial accounts in the USA and have an active mailing address there as well. So I hope that is sufficient for domicile for myself!

    Hi All,

We submitted the I-130 on the 13th of June 2022 (Nebraska) and got approval from California   Service Center on the 31st of May 2023. Still waiting for the NVC welcome letter.

How much time does it take to get the Welcome letter?

    Good luck all.

Exact same dates and service centers for us. Relieved to finally have something happen moving forward.
