  1. Hi... We received our I129 for back with a valid period from 9/15/2008 - 1/15/2009. I emailed the consulate in Brazil for a four month extension and they came back saying that the beneficiary must have the interview by 1/15/2009. We were looking for an April interview so she could come in Sept 2009. She can't come until them because of school.

    What can I do?

    Dear Sir or Madam:

According to the officer her petition is valid until January 15, 2009.

She will have to accomplish with her process until this date. This

    petition won't be revalidated.

    Regards,

    IV Unit

  2. Hi guys... I just got engaged last week but we applied for the K1 visa back in May cause we knew it was going that way. I got the NCOA2 letter this week also. She has until Jan 15th to go for the interview. Problem is she has one semester left in school and would like to finish it. She would graduate next Aug. We are thinking for her to delay the last semester or get the interview pushed back so she could get the K! visa later and then come to the US later.

Can the interview for her K1 at the consulate be delayed?

How long once she gets here and married and the residency process started will it take on avg for her to get the stamp in her passport so she can come and go as she pleases?

    Any help is greatly apprieciated,

    Obrigado,

    Jason

  3. I have been dating a girl in Brazil for a year now. She is 24 has one college diploma and is pursueing her Masters degree in Brazil so she is enrolled in school. She has a mortgage on a house in her name and owns a car. She is working but will only be working at her current place for three more weeks. We have talking about her getting a visa to visit the US so she could see my life and what is like here. She went to school in London for two years and did relief work in Mozambique so she has traveled outside Brazil and returned. I am worried about her getting denied a visitor visa to come here. We have talked about getting married in the future when she is done school but that is not until next year. I want her to come this summer.

Does anyone have similiar experiences like this? I was thinking that I could apply for the K1 visa as starting the process before she applys for the B1 and she could use the K1 paperwork as backup to appying for K1? Should this be done or should she just apply for the B1 on her own?

Any help is apprieciated as we are both stressing the situation!
