this is my uncle's journey but i'm hands on with the whole process as well. he went and had his interview 8/4, we were already expecting to be placed on 221(g) due to pending sputum culture results to be received by 9/18. all went well other than his birth certificate. his mother (his petitioner) had a different maiden name than the rest of her paperwork. she's never used this maiden name on anything other than somehow it is on my uncle's birth certificate. now the immigration officer placed us on 221(g) pending:
Marriage Documentation: Certificate of No marriage on Record-Listing mother's name as it appears on your birth certificate.
Proof of relationship to your petitioner- additional documentation regarding the name of your petitioner on your birth certificate
Early life documents, (i.e. Baptismal certificate, previously issued IDs and passport, school transcripts or similar records)
He should be able to get another CENOMAR exactly how it appears on his birth certificate
He is not able to obtain any other documents showing where that maiden name was ever used. These are to be uploaded to his CEAC and then mailed via 2Go along with his passport and culture results.
He went to the main municipal to see what are the possibilities of changing the mother's name to the correct one and they told him it would be a very long process because it isn't just spelling error, it is changing a whole name. It's very heartbreaking to feel like we were so close and then everything is like a domino effect. Anyone else have gone through this situation where it's impossible to obtain certain records they are requiring?
