hi,
i want to know which way is the faster to get the green card,is it the adjustement of status once ur spouse is here or processing IR1 at the nvc and going overseas for an interview at the USEM?
my wife came here with the k3 and our case is still processing at the nvc,we just received the IV fee bill and the affidavit of support instruction letter,so,we want to know which way is the fastest?AOS in united states or going back to her country for an IR1 interview?
thank u

hey guys,
what u think should be better and faster, going for an adjustment of status in united states or processing IR1 at the nvc and then have the interview in USEM?
my wife came here with the K3 visa and we r still processig the I130 at the nvc,so,do u think it is worth it?
tell me really what u think because im a bit confused....

hey all vj,
my husband paid the aos fee bil and sent the choice of agent to the nvc, after few days,we received the affidavit of support instructions letter which confuses me a lot, because we still dont know what forms we should download and what documents we should send as proof.
my husband makes more than 18000 which is the limit required for 2 members family ,so,if im not wrong, the forms that we need to fill out are I-864 under section 213A of the act and the form I-864EZ ?? ?
one more qst, when we call the nvc automated machine,it says that our IV fee bill were generated, what does it mean?we received nothing from the nvc and we dont know how much the fees are and how we gonna pay them??
normally,do people receive the affidavit of support instructions and the IV fee bill at the same time??
im very confused and i dont know what to do,when i call the nvc to talk to an operator,it nver goes through,so,any help from u guys will be great.thank u.

thanks for ur reply
so,let me get this clear,if she has her interview for k3 and comes to the US,she can still go back to her country and have the interview for i-130?or they would cancel i-130 once she uses the visa for k3?

hey all vj,
i need some informations about the k3 and IR1.
both i129 and i130 were approved and obviously, they r both being processed at the nvc.!!!!
my qst is: is it possible to process both of them in parallel?
I-129 has been forwarded to the consulate and my wife is supposed to receive the packet 3 within few days,if we work on the I130 with the nvc and if the case is complete before that the consulate schedule her interviw for k3,would they replace i129 with i130 the day of the interview?
and if she has her interview before that the case is complete at the nvc,all what im gonna go thru at the nvc will be useless if she cant attend her interview at the consulate in her country?
i was overseas with my wife when i received the approval, the letter from nvc saying that they forwarded our case to the consulate, the forms and fee bill im supposed to send to the nvc.....i received everything at once!!!lol
so,im kind of a little bit confused about what i can do,ill appreciate any help from u.
thank you guys!

hey all vj,
im very confused,i dont know what number to call so i can talk to a representative on VSC....all i get when i dial the number they gave me on the receipt is an automated system which tells me exactly what i have in my NO1....
im very frustrated because my case hasnt been touched since they put it in their system online 02/24/08 and knowing that other people who filed after us getting their approval so i just wanna know if they lost our case or throw it in the trash or what....hearing some news about ur case being touched from time to time wouldnt hurt but nothing,it just kills me....
anyway, if u have any other number that i can dial so i can talk to someone, plz, post it here, that would be very nice of u...thanks

i dont know if this question may sound stupid but i really dont know what to do to have my case status online!!!
my hubby filed both i-130 and i-129 and i have both receipt numbers but whenever i try to check online,it only shows the date they received our applications,so,does it mean that they have never touched them since the past december???
im really confused....can anyone help me out there?thanks

my husband also sent the application express on the 7th,december to chicago .....it is been one month now and always no news from them,it is just frustrating......!!!
when i knew that august filers r still waiting for thei recepits,it was a complete shock to me....!
i hope we not gonna have to wait that long before getting that NOA-1....

my husband filed for me on the 7th,december 2007 the I-130 appilcation ,we were expecting to hear from them within few days so we can send the receipt with the I-129 application and just hope that everything goes fast....but it is been more than one month now and we never heard from them, which my husband and i find it weird.....i went through a lot of immigration websites and mot of people get that receipt withing coople of days,so,is it something we should be alarmed about or not?
im waiting for ur answers.
thanks
Read through some of the threads on this site...and pay special attention to people's timelines. There are currently people who have been waiting four months for their NOA1!!! This delay is due to the flood of petitions that were mailed to USCIS in July 2007. USCIS maintains a website ( uscis.gov ) that you can visit to learn of their published processing times. Long story short: Your waiting is not uncommon.

Additionally, I have read here of some people who have sent their I-129F along with their I-130. Also, I've read somewhere here where people have gone ahead and mailed their I-129F WITHOUT their I-130 receipt notice. I don't bother much with that since I am petitioning only I-130 for the immigrant visa. Do a little more digging in here at VJ, you'll find a wealth of information. Good luck.

thanks for ur reply.
but im just wondering how long it will take for the whole process if it takes 4 or 5 months to receive the NOA1!!!!
the lawyer adviced my husband to file the I-129 after receing the receipt if he wants me to get there asap and he said that it takes 4 to 5months maximum after filing the I-129,so,we were planning to have our wedding party there this summer, but obviously,we gotta wait longer than what we were expecting.it is just so hard for me to be physically separated from him.

hi,thanks for ur answers guys
i never thought that she may get a denial the day of the interview and not be able to come back here, she has 2 years visa with multiple entry so i dont see how she may not be able to come back in case of denial....
plus,i dont know how long the AOS will take ?one or two years before she could get her green card??we wanna travel overseas and we thought that witth the green card it would be easier and simple.
so,now my qst is,how long would it take to get her green card if we file for the AOS here?one year, less or more???
any help from u guys will be great at this moment.thanks
