  1. We are going through the U.S. Embassy in London so after my fiance sends in packet 3 what will happen? Will they set an appointment for the medical and the interview then? Does he have them on the same day? Thanks so much for your help, Danielle

P.S. I have moved since we started this process. I have my new address on the support forms, but do I need to change my address with USCIS?

  3. I would just like to say that all of you are a wealth of knowledge that cannot be measured by the amount of thank you's I have...so thank you all for your help. I know I speak on behalf of many. So, to get down to business. lol I may have an issue and I wanted to hear what you guys thought. During the stressful course of this process and being away from each other me and my fiance took a 3 month break from all the mess. It seemed just too much at the time and he was having doubts about uprooting his life in Scotland and coming to America. We have since gotten back together and he figured out he didn't want to spend the rest of his life without me and I didn't want to be without him, as well. My question is...will this look bad at the interview? We did still talk some, but not as much as we did. So, he could still show phone records and such, but it would show a low amount of phone calls and e-mails. Also, I just sent him my info for packet 3 and I wanted to make sure I sent it all. I sent:

    NOA2

    The I-134 (support data)(Notorized)

    Letter from my employer

Last 3 years copies of my taxes

    Last 2 pay stubs

Letter of Intent for myself (he knows he has to do one for himself as well)

    He is sending:

    Filled out packet 3

    Police Certificate

    Letter of Intent

All of the info I sent him

I know this is long, but if I could get some of your input that would be great! Thanks again for all you guys and your support!!!

  4. I just recently moved and all our information is under my old address. Since our packet is at the US Embassy in London should we contact them or USCIS? I'm getting ready to fill out my support affidavit and am going to put my new address, but I didn't want it to get sent back because the addresses differ. Thanks so much for your help, Danielle

  5. My fiance and I started having the basic jitters I'm sure everyone has had going through this process. We decided it would be best to take a break from everything. During this time, on June 30th we got our NOA2. We have recently gotten back together and he is going to send in Packet 3. It says our NOA2 will expire October 30th. Do we need to ask for an extension? Do we need to call the consolate? Any help would be very appreciative. Thanks so much, Danielle

  6. When I was 19 years old, I had a 16 year old girlfriend and was charged with having sex with a minor. I know the general public's perception of a sex offender is a child molester or rapist but I am neither. And it bugs me to no end that I somehow ended up being grouped in this category. I was a teenager with a teenage girlfriend that happened to be a little younger than me. I was given a 6 month jail sentence for this. I am 25 years old now and have not committed any crime since nor do I ever plan to. I have met a wonderful woman overseas and wish to be with her but due to the Adam Walsch Act I'm wondering if I would be able to get a K1 Visa. Or if I have any chance to bring her over at all. I really wish to be with this woman but am scared that I might not be able to. Any advice or information would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have to register as a sex offender? Did you get convicted of a felony?

  7. Hi, everyone.

Is it normal for USCIS to take nearly 3 months to update/"touch" a case of I-129F?

My American fiance and I have filed our I-129F and received our NOA1 dated on March 31, 2008.

My account at USCIS website shows that our case was touched on April 21, 2008.

However, it has not been updated/touched since then.

I see that majority of those couples who received the NOA1 of the same date as ours or even

later than our NOA1 have already received their NOA2s.

I imagine this nightmare feeling that has been wearing on me and my fiance is something

that many of you guys here have been through  . But I really need some encouraging information

if any of you guys here could provide us!!

    Is our situation normal ??

What can we do to make sure that USCIS will process our case eventually??

If they are going to process our case eventually but FOR SURE, I can deal with it.

But what really scares me is the possibilty that our case is just left unnoticed and is never gonna be processed...

Please provide us with any information or advise that might help.

    Thank you in advance.

I wouldn't worry about it. Our case didn't get a touch until the day we got our approval. Like the other person said...Vermont is moving much faster so your approval should be just around the corner. Good luck to ya!!!

  8. Dear all,

I keep reading about people knowing that their files/applications have been touched. My question is, everytime I log into the system to check if there has been a update... it doesn't show any date or activity. How can I check when my application was touched, if at all :)

    Thanks

The way you know it's been touched is when the date changes. My date didn't change for 142 days until I got my NOA2. I see you're going for the CR1 so it may be different, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it probably is the same way. Good luck to you!!!

  9. I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck in their journey. This website and the people who make it possible allows the rest of us to learn and pass on that knowledge. I hate to say this, but it looks like this journey was too hard for my fiancee and we have decided to part ways. This has got to be one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through. An ocean and Immigration can add one more relationship to burst before the NOA2 list. Things might have been just not meant to be. I wanted to take the time for all the people on here who helped with my questions and gave me some great advice when I needed it. I know it's hard for everyone who is going through this, but keep your head up and realize what true love really means and what it's really worth. Since, I don't need to come on here anymore...I just wish everyone the very best in the life and hope everything works out perfectly. Thanks so much!!!
  10. Hello fellow VSC filers,

As we've noticed there has been a slight trickle of approvals coming from VSC, which is superb .... well done VSC and a pat on the back for you

.... however, I just wanted to ask, as Pushbrk pointed it out last night, has anyone noticed that they may be going by the NOA1 dates ???? Pushbrk specifically said they do, and appears at times to not only know what he is talking about, but seems to know so much that I'm thinking he may work for USCIS :pop: obviously, I'm only basing my presumption on his input on this website.

This is an interesting point though, as a lot of those left from 2007 have NOA1's from December/January time, and that's what seems to be getting approved .... if you look at the NOA1 dates.

But most importantly, what I have noticed is, CSC K1 approvals are pretty much at a standstill, and yet CSC are pumping out the I-130 approvals .... and guess what ??? ..... VSC are beginning the slowdown by the looks of it on the K1's too .... don't want to get you all over excited, but are the floodgates about to open ??

Or am I just trying to over analyze a totally illogical situation ??

Although, I am not in the same boat you are I have wondered the same thing. I just would like to know how they are doing this. Is there a method to their madness? I just saw someone for a K1 visa get approved and their NOA1 date was 3/8/08 at Vermont. We sent our to CSC at the beginning of February 2008. I'm trying to stay positive and not get discouraged, but it's hard sometimes. I think I would feel better if I knew how and why they did the things they did. But I guess we will never know.

  11. We asked for the stamp when coming through Chicago but, No Dice, Note the stamp is not needed to get SSN, and that is the primary reason that the K-1 is "work auth".

K-1 is not a work visa, it is a fiancee visa for entry to the USA and marriage, K-1 is "Work Auth" primarily to be able to get the SSN, some states are strict in their interpretation of a federal law that requires persons applying for a "license" to have SSN, this can cause a problem with marriage license if only one person has SSN and the other (the K-1 holder) does not.

Thanks for all your help u guys

  12. Will my fiance be able to work as soon as he enters on the K-1 Visa? I was under the impression he could get stamped at his POE (Chicago, O'Hare) and would be able to work until he got his AOS done. Am I correct in that assumption? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

If he can get the "stamp" in Chicago, then all he will need is to eventually get a SSN and then find an employer to hire him. The problem is that Chicago is not a POE that many people have reported getting the elusive stamp.

Additionally - any EA stamp is only good for the first 90 days - not until "AOS is done".

So, he would be able to work until the K-1 expires. It doesn't make a difference when we get married? Just when the K-1 expires? So then it would actually be better for him to wait until we get married and do AOS, then? Thanks so much!

  13. i know this sounds stupid but what the hell does touched mean..I see it on most of the people's timeline just wanted to know what does it really mean>>>??

It just means your file was moved, looked at, refrenced for some reason. Sometimes if you call it will be "touched". If you are on the USCIS website it will be shown as an update. Most of the time it doesn't mean a whole lot, but sometimes when your time is coming up for approval it will be "touched" because it is being reviewed.
