People that filed at the beginning of June and were transferred to CSC are now receiving their GC approval notices. So we've got 3 weeks to go before they start rolling in! And EADs should start coming in soon as well.

Did any of you who received approval on your GC receive touches right before approval or just your email or website update stating you were approved? These touches 2 days in a row have me anxious now.

Let's just hope they are not just wiping the dust off the folders ..

I finally received the EAD card after 8 days of waiting (the envelope was stamped for 7/30 but i received it on 8/6).

Anyways, I went to apply for replacement of my SS card but found out I have to wait TWO WEEKS for it to be mailed to me?!?!?!?!?

How long did it take for you guys to receive your SS cards?

Hi, i'm new to this thread! We got our NOA's dated on July 31st (K1&K2). I have a couple of questions regarding what happens next:

1. Does the sooner you get biometrics out of the way make it any quicker to getting EAD?

2. Does Charlotte NC do walk-in biometrics (I have looked and as far as I can tell they don't??)?

3. Can I call to reschedule my biometrics appointment for a sooner date if possible? If so, who do I call? (I have not received my biometrics appointment yet).

We sent the materials requested in an RFE and the CA Service center received them on June 4. Now its been over 60 days, yet our latest case status still says the same thing, that they received the RFE materials on June 4 and a decision would be made within 60 days.

I am just wondering if we should wait patiently for a few more weeks, or if we should call their customer service. Is anyone in a similar situation? Thanks.

I dont know if this will help you or not because we didnt receive a rfe. But our case was transfered there (to the CSC) back in December 08 and when we called them the other day customer service said they were working on applications dated October 23rd (ours was mailed Nov 8th)

Thanks Steve. This information is very helpful. I called the USCIS customer service anyways, and can further confirm what you said. As it turned out, the CA Service Center only "preprocesses" applications (it sounds like a compiler), and the actual processing is done at local USCIS offices, and they each has a different date.

Another example of why you should not waste time calling them.

Didn't somebody warn you about calling the USCIS mis-information line? It's a waste of time. They know nothing. If your case gets transferred to CSC, then your application gets PROCESSED at CSC. The only time that CSC would "preprocess" an application is if one is transferred to them and they decide an interview is needed and send it back to go to the local office for interview, otherwise they approve it there.

but not for the visa ... maybe in your case adjustment ... but for a K-1 it goes to NVC

Hamilton isn't a nice city, this is true. But, even with Stelco and Defasco, 50 years ago, it was a nice place to live. It had a lot of class. Thats where my parents met and lived for quite a few years before leaving for Kitchener. It smells but so do a lot of other cities that have massive industrial plants in them...and there are a lot in Ontario.

I'm really hoping they get going on mine ... just had to turn down another job because of no EAD yet it's getting almost aggrivating. so far thats 4 in a week and only 1 said they will wait as long as they can I WANT TO WORK .. this last one sucked to say no to they had good benifits and a good wage .. ugghhh .. hopefully soon

I'm a bit surprised about that. What industry are you in? Are you getting interviews and then they are offering you a job, but then turning you down when you don't have the work permit? I mean technically speaking a person going for a new job has to give their old job notice, so it's not like most people can start immediately anyways.

I am upfront about not being able to work on my job applications, and some obviously haven't contacted me, and some have. I know that if I'm a fit they can wait 2-4 weeks...

Before i left to come here i started the networking ... even on some of my visits here i visited some places and told them i was interested and also have some personal contacts here that can hire me .. when i did arrive i made it known i was here but that i couldnt work right away but was still interested... then all went quiet because i knew i had to wait and just let it settle .. and to my surprise they started calling. And it's not the industry i do have quite a good resume built up but i am in manufacturing .. jobs are out there .. but manufacturing jobs are not ones to be advertised alot especially in a factory where every employee knows someone who needs a job. all except one offer came from contacts that were made while i was still living and working in Canada

Way to instill fear among people TBONE ... sorry you are right about people having rights and such and i agree with that.

If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear.. if you act like you do have something to hide .. "go away" "come back wth a warrant" "not until my lawyer is here" then you have just opened the door that you have something to hide and then you begin the term "Probable Cause". If they come to talk they are there for a reason that they want to clear up maybe something they missed maybe something that looked funny that really isn't and they need to straighten it out. Maybe some stupid neighbor made a complaint about someone is working when they shouldn't. A few minutes of chit chat and showing evidence will clear it all up....

OR

they are there because that immigrant IS doing something they shouldn't be doing and they should be caught because it's people like that who are making it more difficult for EVERYONE on this site who want to be in the USA for their spouses or for whatever reason but do it the right and legal way.

as for me .. I'd rather spend a few moments answering a couple questions and telling someone my name than having to be hauled off locked in a room until they figure it out and run prints and stuff .. then having to wait hours for a lawyer that will show up just to tell them himself what your name is and where you were and were going and then they say well you fit a discription of someone we were looking for but it turns out your not that person so you can go .. and before you leave that lawyer hands you a bill which will be pricey because he had to come all the way down there ... it can get out of hand real quick.

but back on topic this was about IMMIGRATION and it's put on us as the pettitioners and the benificiaries to prove we are doing this legally and it's in our best interest to work "with" them not against them.

And remember the THOUSANDS of applications from people that are not part of visa journey that are having their cases worked on that donot go into any timeline ..and all the different types of applications that need to be dealt with.. Can be tough to keep up the patience but it will come

Doesn't matter what a website says .... if they ask at the border and he decides that you need a passport you are not going to change his mind by saying " go look at the website" I think people are saying take your passport to be extra safe because things like that do happen and theres not a whole lot you can do about it ... and either side Canadian or the USA can decide to either let you in or not. But i can see certain things if you been in the USA a certain amount of years with no intentions of returning and you don't renew your passport you wouldn't have a valid one so maybe thats why .. and since the process to get it and it has your picture on it( or so i'm led to believe i've never seen one) i can see that too.

If Vancouver doesn't have your package yet, they're more than likely going to toss it back to you wondering who the hell you are. I know you're anxious, but you should really wait.

How would you know they sent it out? i don't ever remember being notified or finding out when they excactly sent it.... but i would hardly think it would shave any time off the wait in the end

what if we can not find tax info for 3 years only 2?

Cannot find or there is none? ... if it's just a matter of cannot find them then you can get tax transcripts from the IRS they will send them out free of charge ..thats what we used

Just got an email notification that we got transfered to CSC!!!!!! I really hope this means no interview!!!!!!

Turn around for card production for CSC transfers right now is 6-8 weeks!!!!!

Well this is a turn around day for me, considering I was outside trying to put the sprinkler away by the water hose, and out fly 10 wasps and I got stung like 3 times lol...needless to say I am in severe pain, took a huge swing of Benadril but can't take meds...as I am headed to NYC Weds for potential back surgery

i'm worried about getting a potential RFE for my son's file.... sent in only the Vaccination Suppliment...but my son was due for his next shot of Hep B (req'd for children), he actually got the second shot before we left Toronto, but it's not documented on what I sent in....maybe they will be ok with just the first shot he got? Maybe they will send it back and i'll have to get it transcribed and updated by that Surgeon General in Texas....anyone have his info just in case?

I'm not worried about AOS...I figure at some point I will get a GC lol... and i'm in no rush for AP as my mom is coming for a few weeks to see me...and EAD...well don't really need that either lol.... I worked the corporate hussle for so many years, i'm enjoying the change of pace...and taking time to write

At first i wasn't worried about the EAD either but now wish it would hurry and get approved already ... but maybe your 6-8 weeks for the CSC transfers will be right I'm starting week 4 .. getting hard to not think about as i am getting so bored and watching job openings come and go and i can't even apply .. ugghh

It means those are the dates of the applications that were last worked on ... the dates from the NOA i believe
