  1. Hello Everyone.

    Got our GREEN CARD VISAS!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on this site that gave me advice. I could not have done it without you... (to this day i'm still waiting for my "Interview Notification Letter".....)

We went for our Interview last week and the Visas are in our passports!!!!!! In the end it was so easy and I did not have to stress as much as I did. I think being selected in the lottery does make it a bit easier...

The interview was really pleasant and everyone at the Embassy in Naples were extremely friendly, helpful and well organised.

Now we have 6 months to go to the US.

Really excited... and a bit scared too..

    Ciao for now

    Mel

  2. I don't think they send you back to get the paper, they automatically consider you not immune therefore they will administrate every vaccine required. BTW I am not sure there is a titer test for every desease (maybe there is but you have to ask the doc), the titer I was talking about referred mainly to the common childhood deseases such as misles, mumps, rubella, chichen pox.

There is no way you can request this info to your country or something?

Yip, I have requested it, but my interview is next week Thursday and I doubt that I will get it in time...

We will just have to pay to get every vaccine required by them... ouch

I'm about to have a nervous breakdown, do you think they'll notice during the interview if I've gone insane...:lol:

  3. oh no... I'm getting soooooooo worried about this interview.

They have mentioned nothing to me about bringing a vaccine chart to the medical. If i didnt read this forum I would not even have known about it.

How did you know to take it with you? Were you told by them to do so... ?

I've already spoken to them about moving the interview and they've advised me to keep the interview date that I have.

    I'm soooooooooooooooo stressed out. :crying:

  4. Hello

    Thanks for all your advice.

I'm going for a Green Card Interview in Naples on the 1st of February.

They have scheduled a medical for me and my husband on the day before the interview.

My Italian is non-existant and my husband can only speak a little bit of italian.

Can you please tell me if the medical exam takes place in English or Italian?

Do we need to take a translator with us....?

    Thanks

    Melinda

  5. Did you have your medical exam yet? What about the police reports from South Africa & anywhere else you've been for over 6 months? I believe you'll have to have these for your interview.

    Best of luck!

They have scheduled a Medical for us in Naples, one day prior to our Interview. That is one less thing we have to worry about.

And luckily I got a Police Clearance Certificate just before coming to Italy. I needed one in order to get married here. We are now scrambling to get one for my husband from South Africa though, but seems like we've contacted some kind of miracle worker who may be able to pull it off for us... we'll see.

I hope all will fall into place....

I would have been lost without these forums. Except for my inital winning letter and forms that I received, I still have not received any further details in the post, but I've been in email contact with the American Embassy in Naples and the interview is definitely a GO...

  6. Thanks for your help churipu!!! How's Balitmore? Maryland is one of the places I would like live when I come to America. I've never been there but it looks so nice...

So anyway, I've emailed the embassy and they've gotten back to me to confirm my appointment, but still nothing in the mail... Now I'm trying to get everything together by searching forums etc....

I dont know if I'll get everything i need. Time is so limited. I hope I get a very nice person in Naples on a very GOOD Day, then maybe I'll stand a chance....

I want to live in AMERICAAAAA too!

  7. Hi Everyone/Anyone

I'm a South African living in Italy. I entered the Green Card Lottery last year and was selected for futher processing... whooooohooooo

After waiting and waiting for an Intervieww Date and not hearing anything, I emailed the Kentucky Consular Centre and asked what was happeing...

They got back to me on the 19th of December, saying that an interview has been scheduled for me at the American Embassy in Naples on the 1st of February 2008, BUT I have not received anything in the post.... Since there's only about 3 weeks left before the interview I'm starting to get a bit worried.

I just emailed the Embassy in Naples asking them if they can send me the information by email, but they sent a generic response saying that they may only reply in 2 weeks time. I'm worried about whether I will have enough time to do/gather everything as specified in the "Information Pack" .

Has anyone been for an Interview in Naples? Can anyone give me any advise? :help:

    Thanks Mel
