Hi, so have a question and wonder if anyone had the same issue and how it was fixed. My mom got her Green-card about 2 years ago (she lives since then in the U.S) and at that time her foreign passport did not show her middle name, only the birth certificate had it. Her immigration lawyer filed it without the middle name and all was good.
Her foreign passport expired, and we applied through her country's embassy in the U.S. for a new one. Once again, we showed birth certificate, her GC, and her old passport. We finally got it and now the new passport shows her middle name as well, when I asked them that all the forms and documents were without it, they said we process it based on the birth certificate and the authorities in her country did not issue her documents correctly. Just a note that she is almost 90 and all her documents for 90 years were without middle name. I reached out to the immigration lawyer and so far, no info and the embassy is telling me at the time of traveling, I should have her birth certificate with me.
What are your thoughts?
