  1. We have just submitted visitor's visa for my mother-in-law in Jamaica. If you are familiar with the embassy in Jamaica, you are aware that rejection is highly possible, so my post here is to prepare her and ensure the best possible outcome during her interview. She is a respected community woman with two successful businesses as well as rental properties and assets. What documents should she be gathering to show the embassy that her intent is simply to visit her family and that her businesses and assets mandate her return?

    Thank you!

  2. I have been doing a lot of reading here the past couple days. It's great how you laides support and encourage one another.

I have one question that I think we need to start working on: Immunization records. How did your Jamaican husbands get their immunization records? I'm sure his mother doesn't have anything as she did not even bother to file record of his birth. He grew up with an auntie who is now deceased. Would his school have immunization records?

Thank you in advance for your help. Finding this forum is one of the best things that has happened this new year, although I admit my head is swimming trying to absord the process.

BTW, We filed in June 2007. We've yet to recieve our reciept number. They did cash my check. A month ago they asked for additional documentation as they said my divorce papers didn't include everything. I sent them the entire 50 pages. Customer Service says that is is now taking up to 16 weeks, instead of the normal 4 weeks, to issue receipt numbers. Read a recent article stating that immigration recieved double the amount of applications this year as they did the prior year. Wondering if that means it's going to take twice as long. The silver lining is that our relationship is growing and becoming stronger everyday.
