Interview was yesterday. He recieved "Decision cannot be made at this time" we faxed our taxes yesterday afternoon and received a call about an hour ago(just like MikeandIryna out of chicago) asking if he can make it to the Oath ceremony on monday! He said yes, bc he wants to get this over with, but, I cannot go because of work. I am so bummed. I am praying one of his cousins can go so he isnt alone. I cannot believe this journey is just about over. Chicago was great for filing!!

Sofs appt was at 945. We arrived at 915, checked in, and he was called back for interview by 931. He was done by 950. He passed the civics part but he received "a decision cannot be made yet" and the IO asked us to fax the kids birth certificates and our 2011 taxes by this afternoon. We filed on the 5 year residency requirement so I am so confused. Why wouldnt they tell us to bring these in the first place??

Henia! Congrats on baby #4! I am so glad you are doing well!!

Tomorrow is the big day! We are so excited. He has studied and I feel is well prepared. He filed based on 5yr residency, what should we be bringing with us?
Thanks in advance

My husband got a yellow letter today from USCIS saying he would need to bring additional identification to his interview. Said we needed to bring his State ID or DL and something else. Is this a normal letter?

Did anyone from Chicago who did their biometrics get their interview letter yet??

I pm'd you Tamara but you have been given alot of good advice.
I am a manager of a bank. I have a full benefits package and have close to 30 paid days off annually (that includes holidays and sick days) I make twice the average income in my area. I work whenever I want, as long as I work close to 40 hours. It only took me 3 years to go from bank teller to bank manager. I know this is not the norm but it shows anything is possible. I do work in a highly retail bank. Chase, BofA, and my bank, in my area are the retail banks. They thrive by growing their customer base and charging customers fees. It does make work very stressful. When a customer has 200$ in overdraft fees and is telling you they dont have money to feed their kids, all you can do is empathize and tell them how and why they were charged the fees. It sucks. You have goals to meet and when you dont, its likely you wont have a job. Some months are good, and some arent. I am obviously paid commission so that can add around 20k to my income annually, which is awesome. It really depends on the bank. I disagree with Staashis comment about no job security. I dont see tellers being laid off unless the bank went under. Just make sure the bank you apply to is a reputable bank. This will give you security and also make your job easier. (It could be hard representing a bank that has a bad reputation) The last thing I will say is working in a bank, regardless of the position, is a nice thing to add to a resume. It can open alot of doors for you that walmart may have not.
Good luck

Popping In! I swear I almost forgot about this place until Sof reminded me we need to get the ball rollin on his Citizenship! We should be doing that this month or next.
Hope everyone is well.

Caro, that is TOO exciting! How far along would that make you now? Sebas is getting so big! He sounds alot like Zaid. Zaid prefers apples and oranges over any sort of junk. We got lucky with some good eaters!!! Glad your morning sickness isnt that bad. Maybe having different symptoms indicates the opposite gender? I know mine were COMPLETELY 100% different! Best of luck at the doctor!

Nessa I sold Zaids clothes on Craigslist as a lot. All 8 garbage bags for 150$. I was surprised I got a call 2 hours after posting it and it was picked up 12 hours later. Craigslist is probably your best bet

LMAO Kat, why dont you tell her how you really feel on the matter. HA! Glad someone isnt afraid to say it like it is.

46-26, yes I think age will be a very big factor A 20 year age gap is pretty substantial. . I do not think he will be approved for a visitors visa but I am not a consular, just my opinion. I would get married and come back and file a k3. Amount of days spent abroad shouldnt be a huge issue since you would have proof of multiple visits.

Hubby had his oath ceremony today. It was a special ceremony bc it was the anniversary of the Constitution.lots of guest speakers and attendees. It was very nice, outside of the Daley Center in the heart of Chicago. Everything went smoothly.
Goodbye USCIS!
