  1. Hey everyone, I passed my interview!!

    Here goes;

My appointment was set for 1pm at the Louisville, KY office so we got there at 12:40pm. There was only one attendant there and so I handed her my interview notice and permanent resident card. We got told to take a seat so we waited about 20 minutes and a little after 1pm I was called in by an officer Bennett. She was extremely nice and polite. First thing she did was swear me in. She then asked me was if I was willing to take the oath, bear arms and join the armed forces if needed etc. to which I said yes to all. Then she went through my actual N-400 application and basically asked me the questions that were on that. Following this, I did a reading test for which I had to read a sentence, and then I had to do a writing test for which I had to write another sentence. After these two things, thats when I had to answer 10 civics and history questions. All of which I got right. They are all straight from the booklet they provide.

After all the testing part she informed me that she had approved me for citizenship and that I should receive a letter in the mail informing me of when the oath taking ceremony was being held. I asked her if she had an indication of when it would be and she had said that they have been telling people that it may take 2-3 months, however she had been talking to a colleague that day who had said that it was actually running at 4-6 months (yikes).

The only two additional documents I provided was the lease to our apartment that had both mine and my husbands signatures and our insurance bill that had both of us on our mailing address. We had moved since I submitted my N-400 application so needed to provided current info of our co-habitation. Also I had in my file my citation for not providing evidence of insurance a while back which she had asked me about.

All in all painless and straight forward.

I hope everyone elses experience is as good as mine and best wishes to you all!

  2. Here is an update on my timeline

Big mess regarding change of address however, I received both NOA and fingerprinting letter in January 2008

  3. Hi everyone,

I did the fingerprinting on March 5th. Any estimates as to how long it takes between that and when they send your letter for the interview?

    Thanks in advance.

Sent app naturalization app to TSC: July 2007

Due to address change and confusion recieved NOA and fingerprinting notice in late Jan. 2008

Fingerprinting at local service center: March 2008

  4. Hey guys! Good news from me too! Finally TSC came through. I saw that my check for the N400 was cashed 12/7 I sent my app in on Jul 27 and was picked up by them on Jul 31. I have been seeing that some people are having their check cashed before receiving the NOA so hopefully I will get mine this week. How soon before people have gotten the letter for fingerprinting?

    *Absolutely stoked*

  5. That's what I was presuming too Anna, I have checked mine and the check hasn't been cashed, nor have I received the application back so I am hoping its the backlog. It seems that people aren't getting an NOA until a month or a little over a month after they sent their N-400 app. We can only hope for the best!! Good luck with it all and keep us updated!

  6. Hey guys, I am in the same boat.

July 27 - Sent app via USPS Certified Mail. Mind you I had left out a number on the P.O. Box

July 31 - Tracking said it was received by Mesquite

I have not received it back so I do anticipate that it was picked up by USCIS Texas somehow and will be forwarded to the right department. I haven't seen that my cheque has been cashed either.

  7. I could slap myself right now. I put the wrong P.O. Box address on my N-400 application. Instead of putting 851204 I left out the 8 and just wrote 51204. Is it possible for them to receive it? I did call them and I guess I am answering my own question and they said that they would just forward it to the right department. And that it would be no big deal. And that if I didnt receive an NOA in 20 days to call them. Any thoughts on this situation

Has anyone who sent their app to the Texas Service Center in the last week before the fee change received an NOA?

    :crying:

  8. Hi everyone,

I sent my N-400 application on July 27 but I looked on the USPS website to track it, and it seems that it wasnt delivered until July 31. Will I still be covered under the old fee of $400 or will they send it back asking for the new fee of $600? Below is the timeline as per USPS tracking. Any thoughts much appreciated.

  9. Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. My name was spelt incorrectly on my 10 yr greencard and I had just lifted conditions off of my conditional permanent residency. Therefore I filed a I-90 form and was wondering if anyone knew how long it would take to process and for me to receive a new card? The USCIS website said 200 plus days which is quite a long time. I guess its not a priority for them especially since its only a minor problemc?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
