  1. Hi again everyone! It bothers me a lot. I sent the I-130 packet this afternoon but my wife and I forgot to put the location and the date of my previous petition. We just put the name and the result of my previous petition. This is what happened, my wife and I left it blank temporarily for I forgot the date and location of that petition and I had to ask that the lawyer I hired before to work for that petition but I forgot to ask for it when I talk to that lawyer. My wife and I completely forgot it and we were too confident when we submit it coz we had the i-130 form checked for several times and just found out we missed that one. My question is; Would it be an issue or will cause a problem/delay with our application? I am really worried. What would we do since I already submitted it?

Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon...

God bless us all in this journey!

  4. For question #21, an appropriate response is "We have not yet lived together" (this is what I wrote when I filled out the form). "None" is also an appropriate response.

N/A is not an appropriate response because the quest does apply to you.

Ok..Thank you so much guys!:-)..You've been a big help to us...God Bless!!

  5. Hi again everyone!

Sorry for asking so many questions but I just wanna make sure I'm doing and filling out the right thing on my i-130 form. I am confused what to put in Part C # 21 since my wife and I just got married last february 04,2012 in Philippines. After the wedding we'd been travelling most of the time for more than 3 weeks before I came back here in US. Should I just put N/A or Am I required to put the place we've went and stayed for 10-20 days after the wedding in the Philippines? a lot of thanks and God Bless us all in this journey! We really appreciate all your help on this guys..:-)

  6. My hubby sent the i130 petition last Dec and since NSO can't issue he marriage certificate in a month's time, he submitted the marriage certificate from the local civil registrar.. anyhow we are still waiting for our noa2, going on 5mos tomorrow:( i got our nso certificate or marriage now and already changed my passport to my married name now.

    u can check 2go.com.ph , lbcexpress.com, air21.com.ph , jrs-express.com , they have estimates for prices.

Thank you so much. I will make a search for the following shipping company and hopefully we could submit the i-130 packet within this month as God allows...Many,many thanks! God bless us all on this!

  7. Hi everyone! I would like to ask and know if someone here could give us an advice in assembling the i-130 packet? I checked with the uscis's website and I've read the new and updated i-130 packet content, one of those is the proof of name change of my wife. The certificate of marriage (CEMAR) is the one that best applies to our case, the NSO released it upon the request of my wife who's in the Philippines right now and she found out that my middle name has an error-they miss a single letter on it. It will take 2 weeks for them to give us the correct one. My question is..Is it ok to submit the NSO copy of our marriage certificate as a proof of my wife's name/status change instead of the certificate of marriage (CEMAR)? We really wanted to start the visa process of my wife and wished to apply for it as soon as possible but the CEMAR is the only thing that holds us to do the first step of my wife's visa. Thank you and everyone's help would be greatly appreciated. God Bless us!:-)

One more thing.. Is someone here could give us an idea on how much will it cost for my wife to send/shipped some of our credentials from philippines to USA?

    Thank you so much guys!:-)

  8. We are doing a CR-1, so no confusion. I registered in '08 while filing for a K-1. My first marriage did not work out. Anyway, if I understand correctly, some of you are saying that I do not need to register our marriage in the US. I just assumed that I had to do that. You know how the govt. works, fees generate money and figured they would require our marriage to be registered there too. Thanks to all!

  9. Ok guys, we will think about filling out the paperwork ourselves. Thanks for your opinions. Does anyone here know about registering your marriage in the USA after marrying in the Philippines? We have a copy of our marriage contract but my wife has to wait at least a month or two for the NSO copy. Can I just use a photocopy of this contract and take it to the appropriate govt. office in my city? Salamat

  10. Hello, our question is does anyone know of someone in the Manila area that offers immigration help that can be trusted. I have read that many here do their own paperwork, but we want some professional help. My wife and I were married recently in the Phils and want to meet with someone here locally before I go back to the USA and start the CR-1 process. Thanks in advance!

  11. Hi Darren. I understand what you are trying to say here. You seem to me to be very caring and supportive of your wife. You have your own personal family issues that many have but are not as honest about. Others try to project there own reality on you but it does not fit. Have a good holiday season with your wife and enjoy your time together. In life we will not please many people, just ask Jesus. God bless you!

  12. Hope to get some help regarding marrying in the Phils. I see that updates have been made about getting married there. If the girl is from Davao, Manila, or Cebu (I think) the foreign man's certificate in lieu of divorce will not be accepted. My question is - Has anyone done this process in the last couple of months to give us some updates. How many certified copies of the divorce decree and birth certificates are needed? I have seen some post (4) and other threads mention (1). Thanks in advance!

  13. Hi, my fiance was told that we could start checking for her sputum result between March 28 and April 4th. We found out on March 31st that she passed her sputum culture and she could report immediately. Ashley left the next day for Manila (it's up to you) and finshed her medical the morning after she arrived. She was then scheduled for her interview the following Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). So to recap, result known on Monday morning in the Philippines. Leave for Manila on Tues. afternoon and have final medical on Wed. morning. Consulate interview on the following Tues. and visa in hand by Friday. Hope this helps, Joe

  14. I just got word from my fiance that she passed the interview, but the problem is I am not sure about the delbros situation. She said a lady working there told her that we should not have pd. the 650 pesos to Metro Bank earlier, but since we did our docs are being verified. Sad to say I am frustrated right now because I do not even know our situation. Ashley is so excited but I told her we do not even know our status. She received a white and pink slip or receipt I think. Ashley pd. the delivery fee but asked if she could p/u the visa herself. They told her they were not doing that anymore and to just wait for it to be delivered. Does anyone know about this "not pay the 650 pesos fee a month in advance" line she got. Also, I have seen where recently people have been allowed to p/u their visa. Is this a sign that we are in "verification hell"? Thanks, Joe

  15. Alot is being discussed about Delbros etc. One VJer in limbo right now had stated that he thought the process was random as far as who's docs are verified and who's are not. We paid our fee back in January and just now found out that the embassy has not even sent out the docs yet via a text message. My fiance had been texting Delbros several times this past month without a reply but finally they responded with this news. Maybe Ed can respond to this subject since he has been looking into this for several weeks now. Again, my ? is do they verify everyone's docs? Thanks, Joe

  16. To those who know about the sputum test, please tell me how many days between the medical and embassy interview once my fiance is given a negative result. We should be getting her result as soon as this week. I hear that they will want you to report to St. Lukes right away, but we do not know how long until the actual embassy interview. Thanks, Joe

  17. Hi, I posted the same ? on the Philippine forum. My friend found out a couple of days ago that you have to purchase a round trip ticket for your fiance when flying to USA. He talked with reps from United Airlines. I am thinking that this is a regulation that is not being enforced by the airlines or the immigration people at the POE. If anyone here has more substantial info on this topic please reply. Thanks

  18. Interesting update. I talked with my friend this afternoon and he said he spent almost 3 hours talking with agents and supervisors from United Airlines. They did tell him that the correct procedure is to purchase a round trip ticket. He was so frustrated trying to figure this out while talking with all the reps from UA. Maybe someone can elaborate on this subject, but it seems to me that maybe most airline employees do not enforce this regulation. At least that is what they told him. They said that not all employees follow this to the letter but it does make sense because we have to do the same thing when we fly to there country. Anyway, feel free to post your opinion until maybe someone actually finds out the policy from the appropriate agency or airline. Thanks

  19. Hey vjers, can you purchase a one-way ticket for your fiance to usa? My friend is about to fly his fiance here and one airlines told him they were not sure about a one-way ticket. She said to check and I told him there is no problem. Anyone here that has flown here with a one-way ticket? Thanks, Joe

  20. VJers. Why do they do a sputum culture and not a skin test at St. Lukes in Manila? My fiance had pneumonia 3 yrs. ago and has a doctor's certificate confirming that she is healthy. She has some minimal scarring on her xray so they want a sputum test done. Am I crazy for thinking they should do a skin test 1st to see if there is a sign of TB in her system and then do the culture test? Also, if you have the skin test done is it 100% accurate. I would like her to take that next week so we can be prepared for the sputum results. Any responses are appreciated, but I truly hope that someone reading this has some experience or knowledge about this topic. Thanks, Joe

  21. Thanks for everyone that was able to respond. I am curious about the girl from Davao. Do you know why she did not fly back home since it takes 2 mos. for the result. I really hope things work out for her while applying for her AOS. By the way, my fiance said that there were so many girls taking the same test she was shocked. It must be a real issue there. Thanks again, Joe
