  1. Hi everyone !

I sent my AOS package with I-765 I-131 and obviously i-485.

Received NOA1 for I-765 and I-131 after a week but now it’s been 3 weeks and still no NoA1 for I-485 it’s really curious…is it normal?

I contacted USCiS through the live chat on their website, they were able to send me the I-485 case number, I entered in the Statut Check and they notify that i have a Biometric scheduled… But still no letter for Biometric and  NoA1…

    Weird…

Is that anyone that have had the same experience?

    Thanks

If you received a Social Security Number in the past, use it wherever it asks for it.  SSNs are for life.  You will not be issued a new one.

Thank you very much for you response.

But i will get a new card ? since it’s written on the card « valid for work only with DHS authorization »?

So i still have to contact the institution that provide SSN?

    Thank you

  3. Hi folks.

Little question about the SSN that I received as a J1 visa holder back in 2017 if I remember well when I received it the administration stated that the number would be kept for life regardless the fact that my visa was just for one year.

I’m gathering papers for my AOS ( I just received my K1) can I provide in the différents forms this national security number or it’s better to at least try to re-apply when i enter the US?

    Thanks guys 😊

So if your file was already at the Paris Embassy then i would keep contacting them. I have heard some horror stories of embassies taking 3-6 months to transfer a file to another embassy. The embassy sends it directly to the other embassy. it does not go back to the states. Now if your case is with NVC its a different story, just contact them. However, if your case was already at the embassy that means NVC decided not to hold the case and there was no backlog so they sent it. Which in my mind means interview dates were available in Paris?

Yes indeed it was already in Paris !

But i’ve been researching on VisaJourney timelines and processing time and couples reports from other applicant at the embassy in Paris reported 90 days to get an interview from the receive date at the Embassy !

As opposed to Bern in Switzerland 20 days ! So i gave it shot BUT don’t know if that was the best call…we shall see !

Paris told me that it could take several weeks…
Thanks for you quote !! 👍

Unfortunately I can’t help with this question but I’m very curious about the embassy switch because I didn’t know it was possible just because the “home” embassy is taking longer to process because visas. May I ask how did you go about getting this transfer approved? Thanks.

My fiancée has a dual citizenship USA/Swiss 😊

Otherwise the embassies can either accept or not !

  6. hi the community I hope you guys are doing well

Mid November I requested to change embassy because the embassy of my country France was and still is pretty busy and backlogged!

The Switzerland Embassy in Bern accepted to take over our application and within couple days the application arrived electronically in Switzerland!

I paid the MRV and did  my medical received all the instructions!

But in order to get an interview date the embassy needs to get the paper file application that has not arrived yet

US Embassy in Paris said that they sent the paper file couple weeks ago to the Switzerland embassy.

i’m starting to be concerned that they have lost my application

Do you guys know what is the normal timeframe for the embassy switch? Does the application goes back to the United States and its sent to the new embassy?

    Thanks 😊

  7. Hi the community !

Yesterday was a great day i received the instructions email from US embassy in Bern (just switch from Paris to Bern Switzerland super smooothly).

I created an account on the Switzerland Visa demand website and added my informations, followed the instructions, once all my infos were in the system i was asked to pay the MRV fees ( I repeat on the Switzerland USA Visa demand website).

Two payments options Wire transfer or Cash deposit, i choose to pay with a wire transfer and used the USA Embassy bank informations provided by the website with my unique  CGI number!

Once payment was done and documents were dated and signed i sent them back by email.

This morning i woke up and the Swiss Embassy is telling me that i paid the MRV fees in the USA Embassy in Paris ???????

How is that possible? The bank infos were in Switzerland, my bank is telling me that they send the money to an account in Zurich Switzerland and on top of that i send a proof of payment to the Embassy in Bern by email.

Nevertheless i paid in euros with my French bank and normally within couples days they received the amount in their own currency i guess?

Do you guys think that they have a unique bank in Europe that is receiving all the embassies payments in the area?

They pretty much telling me that they will ask Washington to get the fees move to Bern, but if not i will have to pay again..

Has anyone ever heard of such a situation?

My guess is that they havent got the money yet, and because in my proof of payment (in Euros) they assumed that it will go automatically to Paris because I have a French account.

It has been almost two f……. Years that we started the k-1 process like a bunch of you guys an it’s exhausting and frustrating……

    Thanks guys !

Send the email confirmation you received from BERN to NVC. I would suggest using the NVCExpedite email instead of the public inquiry because you will hear back faster usually a day or two.

I sent the the same embassy transfer email to both  the public inquiry and the NVCExpedite and received a response back from the public inquiry about a week after my fiancé arrived in the states.

I will try that ! Thanks a lot for your help !!!!!

  9. Hi folks !

I’m the beneficiary for my Fiancé and I K1 visa, as most of you guys we ave been through a VERY VERY VERY VERY slow process for our I-129 to get approved (September 6th 2022). We got our NOA2 and we are still waiting for our NVC welcome letter its been 45 days!

My FIRST QUESTION  is do we get this it by mail or email ?

We could see that the US Embassy in Paris France (I’m French) is experiencing massive backlog according the their timeframe, so we anticipated and knowing that my Fiancée has a dual citizenship USA/Swiss we contacted the USA Embassy in Bern (interviews timeframe are 6days according their website) and they got back to us quickly and said that they are willing to take care of our case!!!

SECOND QUESTION how the f….. are we supposed to let NVC Know that we want our case send elsewhere knowing that the only way to reach them is they email inquiry that has a 2 months processing time??? Do you guys know if Is that any way we could ask them to change the Embassy directly once we receive our welcome letter and NVC Number through some kind of online platform?  6177BEEF-D4AB-4B01-A30C-B85297383ABC.thumb.jpeg.d2eae16722d7c7aec3184053c0f562b7.jpeg

    Thanks guys
