  1. i recieved my visa today but expiration date is 8 sep 2008 and i just recieved it what is that mean

it was issued 5 aug 2008 so what is that mean?

    any help plz?

    i thought its 3 month's

Hello everyone.......we got our visa also. Yeahhhhhhhhhh! Our visa is dated exactly the same as yours. We spoke to our attorney and he said it is correct. Egypt is getting more strict in their timing. You have to use this time to fly here before the expiration date(sept. 8). Once you arrive in the states airport, they will stamp your visa for 90 days stay. THEN....you must get married and get your soc. security, EAD and all that before 90 days is done. So...you should be fine. We were so confused. So ,what a releif it's ok. We are happy for your news.Prayers and patience to those waiting and just beginning your journey. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

  2. So the interview was 3/3/08 ...........were told 3-4 weeks we will get visa. Now we are into month 5. All this time told AP or security name checks. BE PATIENT. ON Thurs DOS told us everything was complete in DC and our case was back to Cairo. We are so excited , could this be the end of this horrible waiting? Today, we receive email from embassy saying..................Dear Sir:

The administrative processing has been completed. The case is pending the officer's final review. We will process the case to conclusion once that has been completed.

    Regards,

    Consular staff

ni So it seems we have a ray of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel. We appreciate any prayers for us and for those still in the waiting like us. Hope we get our visa soon.........As we have watched others process, seems it may be soon...Inshallah.

  3. I was curious how many people on here are still waiting for their K-1 Visa from Cairo?

and how long have that been waiting?

I think Sue and Ahmed have been waiting a REALLY long time.

Just thought we all could send our prayers their way for support because I know how that waiting feels.

Hello Lynn...............so happy for your news. We have been on "PENDING NAME CHECKS" since MArch 3, 2008. We are so frustrated with this waiting. We are basing our timeline on how yours has gone(similar to ours).....so maybe soon? Only God knows. DOS keeps saying pending....things look good, keep checking. Cairo says same answer---pending AP. Anyway , we have not been on here alot, is just depressing sometimes. But still keeping faith and hope. Good luck to Ahmed and you in your life. :D

  4. Sorry you are having a hard time to understand this fact. In Islam .........we speak of all religions(muslim ,jewish christian). However, in jewish and christian, they do not speak of Islam, being that it came after these two. All 3 believe in the one God, so they are alike in this manner. But, no where does it say in Christianity to marry a muslim, but in Islam it says a son can marry any religion. If he chooses to , he is to respect their right to their religion. But, if a christian man marrys a muslim woman, he doesn't know her rights as a muslim, cuz it says nowhere in the bible these rights. But, in the Quaran, it allows a christian wife to have all her rights in following her own religion. but neither jewish or christians cover these right to have other religion followed . And this is why Islam doesn't allow the muslim woman to marry out of muslim cuz it doesn't allow her to have her rights to follow her own religion.Hope this helps you in your decision. May God/Allah be with you .

  5. Thank you for keeping us up to date. You have been in our prayers. This waiting for any answer is so hard on all of us. It's like a test to see how hard they can push.Anyway, we decided to get a hold of our congressman also. We weren't sure if it helped cuz there were ppl who said it didn't help them, but looks like it will. We have an attorney who is supposed to do this for us yesterday, waiting for his reply. You think we should do it on our own as well? The DOS says we are in security name checks and everything looks good.....it's just his name has "Mohamed" in it so takes longer? There are Mohameds that have gotten their visa quicker...wonder what the difference is? Also, I spoke with someone at the Embassy in Cairo today...same answer as DOS. He said don't be frustrated, looks good, it's just the name check. I know they have been giving words of encouragement but now I'm Just P@#$ed ! Why they don't say sir........you will get your visa in X amount of time rather than a time that is incorrect. We were told 3-4 weeks, so now we are 2 months almost 3. I hope your visa is in the time you were told and as for others out there waiting....our prayers to you. Also, if anyone has any other idea what to do .....please let us know. Thanks So Much. Have a good day!

  6. Hi everybody! I just wanted to let you know that Ayman arrived safe and sound last night. He had no problems at JFK with Immigration. He said they didn't ask any questions of him. They did not give him the work stamp and he totally forgot about it until I asked this morning. This is ok though because he was going to have to stay home with our son until he got a job and we could hire a sitter. He's exhausted and jet lagged and is actually asleep while I am online now. We had to run several errands today and we got our marriage license. We will marry on Monday morning.

He's amazed at how "green" America is, how friendly everybody has treated him so far, and that we actually have drive thru's to get food  We are just thrilled to have him home with us and a part of our family. And to have him here to see his son grow is a true blessing.

I wish all of the rest of you waiting a short wait on that visa and I am being so honest when I say that once you see them at that airport that the lonely nights and all of the pain of waiting is gone. It's like a 100 pounds has been lifted off of your shoulders.

    Take care and God bless!

    Tasha

So glad he made it ok.........wish your family the best and a happy marriage. your right...it is like a heavy weight when they are not with us, can't wait til this weight is lifted. Inshallah.................keep in touch ! Welcome to America Ayman!

  7. Good Morning Menna!!! Finally Ahmed has his visa in hand!!:dance: I am dancing and crying happy tears at the same time :crying::crying: . I cannot believe it is finally here and without mistakes!!!!!! He will go today to see about his flight ticket. We are planning for him to come on Monday or Tuesday....after all our Wedding is scheduled for April 26th at 2pm. God is good all the time and answers prayers.....for those of you waiitng do not give up....keep your faith. I will continue praying for each of you. Hope all of you have a fantastic Saturday.......mine is definitely wonderful.

Also, Ahmed pointed out the visa said clearaance received on 21 March 2008......on same page as his picture...he showed me.....so that means it took them this long to get his visa printed and mailed when the security clearances were over on March 21. Embassy is so crazy.....I do not see how some can get theirs in 8 days when they are so slow with others. But our journey with Cairo is over now and we are sooooo grateful and excited. Best of luck to everyone.

Thanks for everyone's support and words of encouragement. I would never have made it through without some of you.

    Cheryl and Ahmed

Congrats to you both!!!!!!!!!!! Wish you a safe travel and happy marriage.

i wish everyone waitting to wake up tomorrow with they phone ringing (DHL)

  9. For those still following our situation, got an email tonight from the Embassy.......

    Dear Madam,

The case is currently pending final review. Once the process is completed, we will process the case to conclusion.

    Regards,

    Consular Staff

    NM

Everybody.........does this sound familiar? It's been the same email for like 4 weeks I think.

Soon heading for week number 9.............you guys make sure to not let me email them next week so I get

disappointed again.........help me be strong and at least wait 2 weeks...........

Hang in there............................ I know, I told my SO lets not call DOS or even get on here sometimes , it just torments us. But , everyday is a different day and you never know what good news it will bring. Things change in a minute and there are plenty of stories on here to prove it. So good luck if you don't want to email embassy, stay strong. You two are in our prayers and hope you get your visa so soon. Try to have a good day. :star:

  10. As of mid feb. there was a new head visa guy in Cairo. From my understanding there has been a lot of "temp" head officers. Perhaps they have gotten a handle on things under the new direction. As far as AP people are still being held there after the interview. If you look at a lot of the people who are approved fast you will see. The either have kids together, exstensive visits, time spent abroad together or they meet in the states, a unique story or are arab themselves.

my interview was in march and no visa yet and same respond from the embassy (final review) and lynn&ahmen . Ahmed&cherry in feb and still no visa

so i dont think there is any changes its still so slow

  11. I just got off the phone with DOS today........on week 7.

She said we are in Administrative Processing and it's up to the officer when they want to issue the visa.

She said it looks good and hopefully it won't be too much longer.

    :crying:

I was curious if any of the ones that have gotten their visas, was the fiance Christian?

Since I read that many of the terrorist activities have been done by men with Islamic beliefs, I wonder if they look harder and take

more time with a Muslim fiance................there probably isn't any rhyme or reason to the whole process, but I thought it was a good question.

    Hi lynn

    im in the same postion

i wonder do u dhl notification daily??
