We had the same problem...it takes a while for the number to get into the system for online status checks. Our NOA1 was in the mail 7/31 and I was finally able to add the case numbers for online checks yesterday 8/18. Give it a few more days.
GREAT NEWS.
I received my interview letter today it was dated for 10/04/2006.
Just wanted to keep you up to date.
Good luck to you guys.

Have you tried entering them today? I would try about every other day til they finally showed up online. Frustrating, yes. I kept on though. Now, I gotta check and see if our AP shows up online today.
Just checked it.
Still no changes. I'll keep on trying. Hopefully soon.

Our NOA1 was dated July 7. Still can't enter our number into the system. I've pretty much given up on it.
Mine was received 7/14/2006 my biometrics was done on 8/8/2006. I haven't heard anything since them.
So I'm still waiting impatiently.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I can't wait for this to be over.

Glad to see your post.
I just started getting worried about my case because I couldn't access them online.
You and I are in the same time frame in regards to when our I-485 was received so I'll keep you posted on mine if I see or hear anything.
Thanks for your post you just took a weight of my shoulders
They are aware of the problem and they are getting 100s of calls a day regarding the USCIS.gov tracking site not working with MSC numbers. Here is what the woman told me:
The USCIS.gov doesn't connect directly to the USCIS computer system that the USCIS uses to work on petitions.
All 3 of my petitions are in the main system and for some reason didn't get transfered to database that the USCIS.gov site uses.
They are fully aware of the issue, calling won't help get your apps to the website tracking.
They hope to have it fixed in the next couple days. She didn't sound confident on this one.
The petitions that aren't showing up at USCIS.gov site aren't going to be affected time wise because the main system has everything and is working properly, we just can't track the cases online.
That was ALMOST worth the 40 minute wait :-)

I filed my adjustment in July 2006 and I received the acceptance letter with the receipt number.
Whenever I try to check the status in the computer on uscis.gov its states that the number is invalid.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Please let me know.
Thanks
AOS Interview tomorrow but Husband has lost his job - Please Help!
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

I did my adjustment interview on Oct 4.
The officer was very nice (surprise). Anyway when he checked our affidavit I thought that my husbands job would have been used to determine if we'd have been approved or not.
When the officer looked over our paper work he used our tax return for 2005.
My husband was unemployed for 6 months and during that time he collected unemployment so the officer subtracted the amount in unemployment from the rest of our income and said that we were $125.00 above the poverty line and that we almost didn't qualify. His decision was based on that.
I don't know if it will be the same for you.
But I would be honest with them. Don't offer any information. Just answer what is asked honestly.
After all SOME of them are only human.
GOOD LUCK MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
