thanks everyone for your support during this painful process.

    NVC, here we come!!!!!!!!

    CMBN,

OMG, I'm so happy for you!! A big congratulations!! It's about time. Your Christmas gift by VSC...wishing you the best of luck for the rest of the journey. Who knows, maybe your wife will be here by Valentine's.............

    Happy Holidays.......

    thanks KAHM :)

i am visiting her for Valentine's....already booked tickets and stuff....so will try to get out of NVC before i leave in feb. this way its not going to be too much of a wait after i return in the first week of march.

how are things coming along with you and your husband...i am sure he is enjoying the new life style...does he have a DL yet? has he started driving?

again, thanks for the good wishes....and I hope you have a blessed holiday season..

My husband got his driver's license on Dec. 11th. and he is driving now. We went to Reno, Nevada for a few days and just returned today. It was great there, a lot of snow which we enjoyed. As far as gambling is concerned, I'm not a gambler but my husband attempted. He is having a great time here. He talks to his family back home a few times a week but he does miss his two Rottweilers that he left behind. I'm so glad that he's here. I missed some of my Hindi serials so I was catching up on Youtube :) and especially logged onto VJ to see if you've been approved since Aman was approved last week. I had this gut feeling that you would be. Once again, I'm very happy for you....and you will have a great time in India. I love going to India. You should take your wife to Dalhousie or Kullu/Manali...awesome places to visit and Taj Mahal is great as well. Take care.

    CMNB,

You are next!! Hope you hear the good news in the coming week(s). Best of luck!

  4. my husband doesnt feel comfortable sending originals. hes scared that they would get lost. i called they said they accept either certified or originals. why cant i send copies of originals? they dont accept that. they told me u have to get certified from the offices they were from- is there any other way plz help im very concerned.

There shouldn't be an issue with sending originals as they are returned during the interview.

KAHM - how is the new american life with ur hubby?

honestly, i am not even thinking too much about the USCIS process. i am focussing on my next trip to india in feb. looking forward to that..

    cmnb,

Life is great!! It's so nice to have him here. We've been busy with visiting family and relatives. He's now working on obtaining a drivers license. I'm glad you are being positive about all this. I'm excited for you about you going to India to visit your wife. You'll have a good time!! BUT hope to hear that your case has been approved before then.......

  6. VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!

you guys!!! i can't stop smiling and crying!!! he said it was pretty simple.. they asked a bunch of questions that we already went over.. i will go into detail in the Philippines thread since it will be beneficial to them there.. all in all, it took about 3 1/2 hours from the time he went inside the embassy until he paid for the visa delivery fee...

    THANK YOU, LORD!!!!!

but guess what? he doesn't want to leave until Dec 8 BECAUSE, he wants to watch the DE LA HOYA vs PACQUIAO fight with his friends on the 7th in the Philippines! boxing is more important than seeing me! hahaha! but i'll grant him that last request but i am aiming for a Dec 8 flight.. i hope his visa arrives way before that!

KAHM!!! how is life? have you adjusted yet? the jet lag sucks the most..

Congratulations Jen!! I'm very happy for both of you!! Wish you the best of luck with your future.

  8. My beneficiary is trying to send everything to Mumbai consulate via VFS office (VFS is courier service used in India by US consulates in India) in her local city of residence. However, VFS is asking her to refill the DS230 Part I (not a copy of sent DS230 but a new one...) even though it has been submitted to NVC and received by consulate. Have others encountered this problem in India or else where???

    CS

My husband went through New Delhi consulate. At the VFS office, he only paid the courier fees and was asked to carry the proof of relationship to the interview. For CR1/IR1, the beneficiary shouldn't be asked to fill another ds230. Your spouse can show the VFS office the checklist from NVC which is included in the interview letter, this is proof that the NVC received and reviewed ds 230.

  9. I am trying to find the post but I cant! UFF!

My petition has just been approved on Thursday. When is it ok to call NVC to find out if they have received it? WHat about knowing if it has left?

DO I just call until I talk to an operator??

    Thank you :)

Wait about ten days or so.

  10. Quick question,

I have all my I-864 documents ready to send but am wondering if I should have received the actual I-864 from NVC? I paid the $70 AOS fee but not the IV fee yet - will pay this online next week after I get paid. Should I print out the I-864 anyway now or after I pay the IV fee?

Since you have paid the AOS fee bill online and the payment status has been changed to 'Paid', you could express mail the I864 packet. Print out the barcoded coversheet for the payment and send it with your I864 packet.

  11. Congratulations!!!

    Hello, and Congradulations!

I am a question since my husband will also go through New Delhi.

What documents did you have to send with your DS-230? Orginals?

Did you send the form up with page 4 not signed?

My husbands K3 and CR1 petition got approved from the USCIS on 3 SEP

The K3 Petition is at New Dehli.

My Lawyer is getting ready to send the DS 230 information as soon as he gets the request.

Did you also use a K3 Petition?

What happens if the CR1 packet gets to New Dehli before the K3 Interview. What happens if it doesn't All the orginal documents (Birth Cert, Police Reports etc. will be sent to the NVC which is also needed for the K3.

How long did it take New Dehli to schedule an interview?

Please let me know. My husband and I are suffering and missing each other too much. :crying:

    Thank you for your help!

Congratulations on your approval. I applied for CR1. It looks like you are pursuing the K3 route. Are both I129f and I130 approved?

With DS230, I sent the following originals:

Form ds230 parts 1 and 2 (Only Part 1 signed by the beneficiary and part II is signed during the interview)

Origianal PCC from the district the beneficiary resides in (Police Clearance Certificate)

Original PCC from the Passport Office (Government of India Ministry of External Affairs Passport Office)

Original Birth Certificate of the beneficiary (If in a foreign language send the origianl English version as well)

Origianl Marriage Certificate along with original Ceremony Certificate from the temple where the ceremony took place

2 2x2 photos of the beneficiary

    Photocopy of the beneficiary's passport

    Hope this helps.

  12. Congratulations on your approval!

I have few questions, if you could answer:

    1) What documents did your husband submit at VFS? Did you receive any letter which stated the docs to submit?

    2) After your interview date was assigned, how long did it take you to get the interview letter from NVC?

    3) Did Delhi embassy send any interview letter to your husband or just NVC sent it?

    Thanks and Good Luck!

    yeye,

    1. My husband paid the courier fee at the VFS office and he was told to hand carry rest to the interview (Medical, proof of ongoing relationship). He was asked for a 2x2 photo. So it's a good idea to take a 2x2 photo to the VFS office. He was given a receipt for paying the fee and was told to take it to the interview as proof of payment.

    2. The interview was assigned on September 12th and the interview letter was mailed out on the 18th of September, the same day the petition was sent to New Delhi.

    3. New Delhi did not send an interview letter. The letter to the beneficiary and the petitioner are mailed out the same day by NVC. My husband received his interview letter a few days before the interview but I had faxed him mine.

Hope this helps. Wish you the best of luck.

  13. Thank you yasser ezz, INR, frali, and robbyrob for your well wishes!

    INR,

We used the monthly bills generated online by Reliance. As you may know, these bills can be viewed from Bills&Payments/View Bills. These are the actual bills available online to print.

I wish everyone fast approvals and that everyone joins their loved ones soon!! Hope VSC starts approving the petitions soon!

    Many Many congrulations (F)

    Thank you Bani!

  14. Thank you so much cmnb and Bani..... I've posted the interview experience in a new post to assist other VJers going through Indian Consulates. And YES, my husband has been granted the VISA. I'm so happy!!

congratulations a ton!!! so whens the big POE day??

It would be sometime beginning of November as everyone there wants him to celebrate Diwali with them. I wanted to make a trip to India as well but was unable to as I am so tied up at my job....It would be nice to spend Diwali in India which I have not had the experience of......

  15. Hi,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone on VJ for making this happen. There were times when I had questions on I130, G325A, DS3032, 230, and I864 but I always knew who/where to turn to for assistance. The VJ community is the best!!

:dance:MY HUSBAND'S VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED!!

His interview was scheduled for 8:45am on 10/20/08. He arrived at the embassy at 7:30am.

Here is a timeline of what took place……..

    7:30am Arrival at Embassy

    7:35am Went through security check

    8:15am Fingerprinting

    8:30am First interview

The lady collected his medical report and returned his originals (birth certificate, marriage certificate…)

During the first interview which was conducted by an Indian lady, he was only asked two questions….

    Who is the petitioner?

    What is your marriage date?

Then he was asked to take a seat and his name will be called……

10:10am Second interview – took an oath that everything on form ds230 is true and signed part II of the form. He was then asked the following........

    Who is petitioning for you?

    How did you meet?

When was the first time you met?

Who went with you to see your wife for the first time?

    Date of your marriage?

    What does your wife do?

    Is this your first marriage?

    Is this her first marriage?

Do you have any family members living in the US?

    Who attended the wedding?

Who came from the US to attend the wedding?

Then he was told….congratulations…that his Visa has been granted and it could be collected within a week from the local VFS office.

My husband was not asked to see a single proof of ongoing relationship or any other papers. He carried with him…..copy of the complete petition, the wedding album, hundreds of other photos, stack of e-mails, stack of post cards, thick stack of monthly phone bills by Reliance (two to three calls per day)……..

He was in the embassy at 7:35am and was out with VISA APPROVED at 10:30am.
