  1. My husband's case was approved today! What a relief!

Two years exactly from the "Notice Date" in the I-797.

His second fingerprinting appoitment was on December 1st and that fingerprinting notice came on that green paper from Missouri.

I know some of you have been waiting longer-hang in there! I'm sending good vibes your way.

    Congratulations ca-girl!

  2. I can't believe what I got in e- mail today:

"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR

    TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On January 11, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this

customer's new permanent resident status. "

We had the second fingerprint appointment on December 26th.

LaL, AOS depair, Donna A and huskesfan you had the second fingerprint appointment this month.Hope that you'll get the same e-mail soon.It seems that they are working on old cases now.

  3. Yours is probably done too. You had the second fingerprint appointment recently too.

I had the second fingerprint appointment.I got a letter from USCIS saying "Based on your request we resarched the status of your case.We actively proccessing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer proccessing time." But the case hasn't been touched, no updates. We just wanted to know what was going on that's why I made Infopass appointment. I hadn't expected to hear that a name check is done.

  4. Slim, thanks a lot for your thoughtful and detailed explanation. It was lots of work, lots of typing. I'm really grateful and really appreciate it.

You used a right approach when you were prepearing for your sister-in- law's interview. You did everything thoroughly and took into account different detailes. I'm impressed.

  5. Every six months I call National Customer Service Center and ask them to investigate why is my case is outside proccessing times. I usually got the same answer which came from local office (in my case Chicago).

"The proccessing of your case has been delayed.A check of our records establishes that your case is not ready for decision as the required invetigation into your background remains open".

I called them again last Friday and got a letter today. This time an answer was different. It aslo came from Chicago.

"Based on your request we resarched the status of your case.We actively proccessing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer proccessing time."

I'm just wondering what it means.

  6. Thank you guys for your replies..

After 3 years we are divorcing and we were married in usa,i came here as a fiancee(K-1 visa)...and was stuck in name check for 3 years,so couldn't work here and drive a car(i passed a driving test but didn't get a driving lisence cause don't have a GC...was very frustrated(((

Well now i go througth divorce..it's painful.hurt..and my husband insisted on uncoditional divorce so i signed up...now just want to make sure i will have all necesary divorce papers from here(I'll go in a few weeks home and he'll send to me a paper with apostile)....now..my mother will live in germany and i would like to go there to study,so if i'll have a divorce paper with apostile in case they will ask me in german consulate i hope that will be enouth...

    Thanks again ...

Dear Yulia, it's really sad to hear.We filed for AOS in April 2005.I had an interview in November 2005 but I haven't got my green card yet because a name check is still pending.I do work and I've got my driver's licence.I just have to renew my EAD every year. You don't need GC to get driver'ds licence.

  7. Thanks,Rebecca.

Ours has code 1.So it's just for updating USCIS files.

But I had the first code1 on Juine 3d 2005 and that file expired on September 3d 2006.Nothing couldn't be done to our case with code 1 expired although we constantly got answers from USCIS that a namecheck was still pending when sent letters to the Ombudsman, our congressman and our two senators.
