I need to renew my Russian passport.I read a post about www.russianpassportservice.com. Did anybody use it?Can you recommend anything else? Because going to the Russian Embassy in DC is really complicated and more expensive than using www.russianpassportservice.com.

Congratulations, Donna!!! Really happy for you!

She needs certified copies for AOS interview. The embassy in Moscow accepted documents in Russian and I didin't need certified copies for K-3 visa interview. But documents in any other language had to be translated.

Yes, you'll get a card. They don't send an approval notice separately.

My husband's case was approved today! What a relief!
Two years exactly from the "Notice Date" in the I-797.
His second fingerprinting appoitment was on December 1st and that fingerprinting notice came on that green paper from Missouri.
I know some of you have been waiting longer-hang in there! I'm sending good vibes your way.
Congratulations ca-girl!

Congratulations, tierdmonica !!! It's great news.

Thanks a lot, guys.
I'm sure that we'll have some more approvals soon. For some reason they are working on old cases now.

I'm on 3d EAD.My second EAD was approved in 8 weeks and third one in 7. In my opinion 90 days is enough time.

I can't believe what I got in e- mail today:
"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR
TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
On January 11, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this
customer's new permanent resident status. "
We had the second fingerprint appointment on December 26th.
LaL, AOS depair, Donna A and huskesfan you had the second fingerprint appointment this month.Hope that you'll get the same e-mail soon.It seems that they are working on old cases now.

Congratulations !!! Really happy for you !!!
I agree with LAL . I'd try to get 10 year card.
-
Our case hasn't been touched since 06.03.2005 when I had the first fingerprint appointment.
-
Yours is probably done too. You had the second fingerprint appointment recently too.
I had the second fingerprint appointment.I got a letter from USCIS saying "Based on your request we resarched the status of your case.We actively proccessing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer proccessing time." But the case hasn't been touched, no updates. We just wanted to know what was going on that's why I made Infopass appointment. I hadn't expected to hear that a name check is done.

I had an appointment in Chicago office yesterday and an immigration officer told me that a name check is done but it was pending for such a long time ( it's 33 months since filing) and so now an officer has to review our case.I can't believe that name is done. But the case is still sitting on someone's table.

Slim, thanks a lot for your thoughtful and detailed explanation. It was lots of work, lots of typing. I'm really grateful and really appreciate it.
You used a right approach when you were prepearing for your sister-in- law's interview. You did everything thoroughly and took into account different detailes. I'm impressed.

Every six months I call National Customer Service Center and ask them to investigate why is my case is outside proccessing times. I usually got the same answer which came from local office (in my case Chicago).
"The proccessing of your case has been delayed.A check of our records establishes that your case is not ready for decision as the required invetigation into your background remains open".
I called them again last Friday and got a letter today. This time an answer was different. It aslo came from Chicago.
"Based on your request we resarched the status of your case.We actively proccessing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer proccessing time."
I'm just wondering what it means.

Slim, is she married? Does she have kids? These questions are important because Russians have to prove that they won't stay here, thay we'll go back to Russia.

Thank you guys for your replies..
After 3 years we are divorcing and we were married in usa,i came here as a fiancee(K-1 visa)...and was stuck in name check for 3 years,so couldn't work here and drive a car(i passed a driving test but didn't get a driving lisence cause don't have a GC...was very frustrated(((
Well now i go througth divorce..it's painful.hurt..and my husband insisted on uncoditional divorce so i signed up...now just want to make sure i will have all necesary divorce papers from here(I'll go in a few weeks home and he'll send to me a paper with apostile)....now..my mother will live in germany and i would like to go there to study,so if i'll have a divorce paper with apostile in case they will ask me in german consulate i hope that will be enouth...
Thanks again ...
Dear Yulia, it's really sad to hear.We filed for AOS in April 2005.I had an interview in November 2005 but I haven't got my green card yet because a name check is still pending.I do work and I've got my driver's licence.I just have to renew my EAD every year. You don't need GC to get driver'ds licence.

Has anyone's relative got a tourist visa recently? What kind of questions were they asked?
-
Congratulations!!!Really happy for you!

Don't worry. They don't update it often.I was told on the phone that the system is updated once in 2 weeks but I don't think so.Our F-129 never was updated.
-
Lal, I know what you feel .We are in the same boat too.We are about to hit 1000 days.It just sounds terrible. And every time we get an answer there is not time frame for name check to be complete.
-
Thanks,Rebecca.
Ours has code 1.So it's just for updating USCIS files.
But I had the first code1 on Juine 3d 2005 and that file expired on September 3d 2006.Nothing couldn't be done to our case with code 1 expired although we constantly got answers from USCIS that a namecheck was still pending when sent letters to the Ombudsman, our congressman and our two senators.

Ours came on the official form too but from Nebraska Service Center although AOS is pending in Chicago local office.
And it even doesn't have an application number for I-485 only my A number.
