Hi! I would like to know if the employment certification letter of petitioner should be original or a fax copy would be fine. Should it be signed by the HR Dept or manager of the company where he is employed or it can be signed by his immediate manager. The thing is, the HR Dept of my fiance is located in another state so they still have to mail it to his state which might take a week or more prior to his sending it to me. So the question is a fax copy of the letter be fine and if just his immediate manager can sign it instead of the HR Dept in another state. Please advise.
Also for the request for visa pick up in the embassy, who should sign the letter. Should it be the petitioner or the beneficiary.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi! I just wanna ask re the bank statements required of the K1 visa. Ive been reading posts and somehow just got more confused. Anyway the question is, is it ok to bring the bank statements of my fiance to the interview without any letter from the bank officer certifying his bank balance account? Of course, i will be bringing the affidavit of support notarized forms. He is well above the poverty line but im just wondering if plain bank statements would be fine.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi VJers! I would just like to know if the US embassy in Manila would be needing a certified true copy of his divorce decree and birth certificate or just a XEROX copy of the divorce decree and birth certificate would do. Usually divorce decrees consist of several pages, right? So should i just ask him to give me the page where it states the previous marriage has been dissolved?
Would really appreciate your immediate reply.
Thanks so much.

Hi! First of all, it is thru VJ that I have been learning a lot re the process for the K1 visa and now that our NOA-2 has been approved, I would like to post these questions and woule reaaaally appreciate your replies.
1)I read in the VJ website, but not in the forum that NVC sometimes send a letter to the petitioner re the approval of petition indicating case number and that the papers have been sent already to the embassy of the beneficiary. But at times, they dont send lettters as well. As such, do we need to call NVC or just post a question thru their email asking for the case number.
2) Re the Affidavit of support, I-134, can my fiance just download that for free or the NVC will give the form to my fiance and pay a certain processing fee. Im a bit confused coz there is also such a thing called Affidavit of Support called I-864? What is this I-864? Is this for a K1 visa or for something else.
3) Does my fiance need to give me a copy of the biographical info that he has submitted to USCIS when he filed the petition or this is really no longer needed for the embassy interview?
4) Lastly, for the K1 visa, does the law allow the beneficiary to travel another state to visit a relative prior to getting married or they dont allow you to travel lest you are already married with your fiance.

Hi Chris,
I cant help but ask this coz my fiance filed K1 and was acknowledged July 10. First touched was July 14, till now no touch or movement yet. Looking at your timeline, we were even ahead than yours. Anyway, i havent really been impatient but it has been 6 months already and its only this Dec that i became edgy about this. Now im thinking that perhaps the reason our papers has been delayed coz he has been divorced twice. Just wana know if you havent been married or been divorced too. Your reply to this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kat
Haha - glad some of you are - is Gretchen really disorganised then?!Actually Gretchen is very organized also. it has made the process so far quite easy as far as the requirements. we are both on a mission lol to have no delays in our petition that are caused by us.

Hi! Saw your timeline.. naiingit naman ako. My docs were acknowledged July 10 and 1st touch was July 14. Till now no news. Do you think it has something with the documents submitted. But if such is the case, how come my fiance has not received any call to that effect?

Good thing i checked here at the forum! I did try check my case online and their website is down. I just stared checking the website and just joined this forum a week ago. I should have joined months before. Are they really down during weekends or just now?

By the way, would u know of any email address at USCIS where I can follow up the NOA-2? Sorry, just curious or wondering if you know any. Or to other readers, if you know any customer service email add of USCIS where we can follow up for the NOA-2. Thanks

Hi Jeraly,
Thanks so much for the quick reply and for the great relief. Yeah will ask mr. wonderful ( ha ha ha) to make a call at the USCIS since its past ave processing days. Keep me posted about your docs, ok?
-
Hi Marc,
I just wanna ask if they touched your docs the 2nd time only after your call? Coz we have received the NOA-1 July 2 ( but as indicated in their USCIS website it has been acknowledged July 10) and was touched only for the 1st time July 14, 2007. After that, nothing anymore. It has been 160 days since July 10 and no word yet. I think i should ask my fiance to call USCIS also to follow up too as the we are way beyond already the average processing date for K1 visa. Anyway goodluck and wish me luck too!

Hi Downlake 23,
You even got your approval earlier! We received NOA-1 July 10 but no NOA-2 yet. U think we have a problem there? Also it has been touched July 14, 2007 and after that no move or touch still. Hoping to receive approval REAAL soon!!!
-
Hi There! We almost have same dates of filing. My fiance filed it late June 2007 and received notification July 2, 2007 but per USCIS acknowledged it July 10. First touch is July 14. It has been 160 days already. Do you think our papers have been incurring problems? Ave days for processing if you will look at California Service Center charts is only about 130 days. We are already way past the average. What do you think? Please keep me posted as to developments on your documents. Thanks and God bless!!!!
-
Hi! Good for you that u have your NOA-2 already. We received the NOA-1 July 2 2007, until now we havent heard a word re NOA-2. It was last touched July 14, 2007. U think there is a problem?
-
Hi honeybear!
Oh good for you that you have already you got already your interview sked and medical sked. We got received receipt of NOA-1 july 2 ( but posted in the USCIS web as acknowleged July 10) but till now havent gotten NOA-2. I havent really been thinking much about the visa lately coz i have been too busy as well till it hit me that its December already and no NOA-2 yet. Now im getting nervous about it!

APPROVED
NOA2 is on the way
Hi! I guess you are still lucky!!! U know why? My fiance filed the K1 visa end June 2007 and NOA-1 as posted in the USCIS website on July 10. Until now, after 5 months no word yet re NOA-2. I reviewed just the other day the website of USCIS and noticed that our docs have been last touched last July 14, 2007. The average days of processing for K-1 visa at California Service Center is about 4.3 months and ours is pending already 5 months. Guys, would you know what should be the next step that we should do? Would appreciate your comments. Thanks.
Petition
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hi,
My sister would like to petition me as she is a US citizen. Im currently working right now in CNMI, a US territory but i dont have yet a US visa.
My question is, if im under petition (which would take about 10-15 years i guess), will it be difficult for me to get a US visa in case I would like to visit her and the kids this December?
Please advise me.
Thanks.
