  1. I did some research on the data on the K1-AOS July filers spreadsheet. I found that for all dates (e.g. approval dates of AOS, EAD and AP) the NOA date works as a better indicator than the date of biometrics. I'm tempted to say that it has no use to do walk-in appointment unless you cannot make it on the scheduled date.

    AP-approval: Average: 60 days from NOA1

    Standard Dev: 5 days

    EAD-approval: Average: 65 days from NOA1

    Standard Dev: 6 days

reception GC: Average: 81 days from NOA1

    Standard Dev: 7 days

Would that mean that following is what is happening: ;)

    AP-approvals for cases with NOA1 from 08/06/2008 t/m 08/16/2008

    EAD-approvals for cases with NOA1 from 07/31/2008 t/m 08/12/2008

reception GC for cases with NOA1 from 07/14/2008 t/m 07/28/2008

I did this just for fun so no guarantees.

We got our NOA on July 7th. We were transferred on July 30th. We haven't received GC, so I think your stats may not be accurate. :-)

    - Take that back, just got an update today - Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident. I should have checked that first, lol.

  2. I'm pretty sure if you're applying for a K3 you can't stay in the US. You could get married, and then go back to Hong Kong and file the K3 petition and wait for it to be approved before you could come back. But I guess I could be wrong.

    Hi all,

My name is Rach from Hong Kong. I am currently traveling in the United States to visit my long distance boyfriend whom I have been dating for the past three years (I visited him 3-4 times every year). We finally decided we want to spend the rest of our lives with each other. However, my visa is expiring on April 9, 2008. So my questions are:

    1. Can we marry in the US now? Do we have enough time to do that?

    2. Hypothetically that we are ready to file K3 petition tomorrow, what kind of proof do I need to provide and prove that I filed my petition before my visa expires/ and that I did not overstay?

We truly love each other and want to be with each other as soon as we can but more importantly, we want to follow the rules.

I would greatly appreciate your kind inputs!

    Thanks,

    Rach

  3. Does anyone know for example is you received packet 4 will they also assign an interview day along with that? To my understand packet 4 is the medical papers correct? Can you hand in packet 4 at the embassy? Also once you hand in packet 4 will they assign an interveiw day along with that? Any info is greatly appreciated. I am getting anty waiting for an interview day.

    Thank you

In germany at least the packet 4 includes the interview date.

  4. I was a college student and worked in a movie theater on the weekends. That was my only income so my tax transcript from 3 years ago shows that I made about $4000 that year. Of course since then I've graduated and the next 2 show me making above the 125% poverty mark. I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem, I just want a confirmation. Should I send in something from my bank with the transcripts because of this? (This is to go with the I 134)

  5. Hi all!! After a fairly quick approval (2 months ! ) I am trying to figure out next steps.

What happens now? I know that I have to prepare the I134 form, but what does my fiance have to do to prepare for his interview? When/how will we find out his interview date?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Service Center : Vermont Service Center

    Consulate : London, United Kingdom

    I-129F Sent : 2007-12-19

    I-129F NOA1 : 2007-12-21

    I-129F NOA2 : 2008-02-21

The embassy should send him the packet 3 which contains the documents he will need to fill out. After he sends this back they should respond with his interview date.

  6. Hi,

I'm looking at the I-134 and was wondering exactly what I need to send with it. I know I need to send a letter from my boss stating my income and that I'm in good standing. Should I send a statement from my bank showing the direct deposits as well? I don't have a savings account, so is this what they are asking for? I don't think any of the other evidence applies to me.

If anyone can help me figure this out I will appreciate it a lot.

    Thanks

  7. On this form it states that you need to attach Birth Certificates, Evidence of engagement, evidence of financial support etc. Are you supposed to send this stuff in with the form? I thought this was what you took to the interview with you. It's just a little confusing. So do we send this stuff in with the forms back to the consulate or does she take it with her to the interview?

    Thanks for your help.

  8. On the checklist of documents needed it states "Photographs". I don't know if the actual packet says what kind of photos these need to be, but I can't find it on their website. Does anyone know what types of photos she will need to take with her when she goes for the interview? We're just trying to have everything prepared before hand.

    Thanks

  9. So wow, I just got approved, according to this e-mail I have, and I my NOA1 date was on Dec. 20th. I wasn't expecting that so soon, but I'm super excited now. When should I expect the approval in the mail?

    Say what?!?! :o

    Are you sure?

What exactly does your email say? OMG!

    It says...
