You can send original like I did and when my parents went to their interview yesterday, they were not asked anymore for any.
If you send photocopies, on their interview, they will be asked for the original.
Good luck.

Hi there!
My parents just finished their interview today and passed.
I told my mom to ask them if it is okay to have their interview together and they said yes.
They did well together. Make sure your parents has all the copy of all the NVC correspondence with the petitioner.
They were in line this morning and saw an old woman was asked to go because she didn't have the NVC letter with the case number and invoice number... not sure which one... but what I did with my parents documents... I printed everything and gave it to them to bring to their interview.
Good luck!

My parents passed their interview! Never asked for civil documents since I already submitted originals to NVC.
Thank God!
-
Their interview so they say is Feb 2, @ 6:30am...
You might see them, my parents... Last name Amagan
I asked my brother to go to NSO to request civil documents while my parents will be on their interview...
-
You might see my parents there tomorrow
Upon reviewing the interview letter they sent us, the required documents they need to bring to the interview ... it says " Photocopies of civil documents" so I am hopeful it won't be asked and delays everything.. thanks for your reply...

I am currently pissed with my brother whom I expected to prepare everything for my parents' interview which is tomorrow, Feb 2.
Upon reviewing the checklist with him I found out that they don't have birth certificate and marriage certificate available for my mom.
Even though I've been reminding them since last year to have it for interview, he said, He "thought" they still have it without checking....grrrr....
When I submitted DS 260 online and sent all the civil documents to NVC, I forwarded them originals, is there a chance that US Manila Embassy will not ask anymore civil documents during interview?
Anyone? Please.. thanks in advance.
-
what is ds260 documents to be sent? I thought it will be filled up online only?
It's on the NVC website... they are the supporting documents;
http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit.html
My list was below;
AOS bar coded cover sheet
Two (2) passport size photographs of Beneficiary (case number, full name and date of birth written on the back both)
Photocopy of the biographic data page of Beneficiarys passport
Original NBI clearance of Beneficiary
Original Birth Certificate of Beneficiary
Original Marriage Certificate of Beneficiary
Original Birth Certificate of Petitioner
Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate of Petitioner
I never had any checklist... But check the NVC site, there might be changes....

Both my parents are going back next week for the 3 days sputum tests

Got cc oct 27. received email oct 31 stating case completed and my parents interview date dec 4.
My parents' interview also is on Dec. 4, but I guess it will depend on the results of their X-ray today...

Hey guys.. i'm here again..
I paid my AOS fee (affidavit of Support) it shows PAID, should i send my aos packet/docs or should i wait for IV invoiced to be paid and send aos and IV at the same time.
Or Should i just send the AOS alone?
what do you guys think? I want to make the process fast if i can
Send the AOS documents right away, and wait a month or more for the IV fee to be available... They will email you, then pay it, once it shows paid, you can do the DS260 online, then send your DS260 documents...
-
I received that same email too from nvc, a reply for our checklist. This 60days review is really frustrating. The process is taking too long for us all.
They received my DS 260 documents Sept. 30 and received a letter of 60 days time frame Oct. 1, Yesterday, I called NVC to make sure they received AOS and DS 260 documents, I was told, my case completed Oct. 20, and Oct. 29 they already scheduled the interview on Dec. 4...
No update on the ceac website...
I was really surprised although, it has been delayed.. try to call them to get an update. Be ready to wait more than 30mins hold time to get to talk to them though...
Good luck...

Hi Guys!
FYI! They have increased IV fee from $230 to $325...
I paid for my father's first week of September and has been waiting for my Mom's to be available for payment and today, I received the invoice and was wondering why it says $325.. so I had to call and was on hold for almost an hour and was told that they have increased it just a week ago

Hi!
I had to submit it for I-130 application as an evidence of the legal name change.
I am on IV process now at NVC... and I am not sure if Abstract will be enough... I hope so...
-
Hi guys,
I have filed I-130 for both of my parents... I am on NVC stage now and preparing legal documents to be sent to NVC after I pay their IV fees.
Unfortunately, I only got one certified copy of my marriage certificate left, so I ordered online.
What they sent me is a Certified Abstract of Marriage.
My question is, is this acceptable to NVC? I heard also, that when they go for their interview they will need my certified copy of my marriage cert... is this Abstract of Marriage be enough?
I hope you can help me with this.... I just want to know if there were someone here who submitted an abstract of marriage and didn't have any issues with it...
Thanks in advance...

to answer your Problem #1, I had almost the same problem for my father's petition, I forgot the Jr. in his name...
You will need to email NVCinquiry@state.gov and be sure to include the following;
NVC case number,
Principal applicant name and date of birth,
Petitioner's name and date of birth,
then state your problem and provide/attach copy of the bio page of her/his passport to support the correct details.

Hi Sachin1 and J&N071213,
Both my parents have seperate i-130 filed. I got the approval from USCIS on the same day for both my parents. They transfered the petition to NVC on the same day for both my parents. From NVC i got 2 acceptance notice and 2 instructions to file I-864 fees. Also, i have to NVC Case numbers for each of my parent. I payed the fees for my dad on the NVC site and then went to pay it for my mom (using her case number) and it said it the fees is processing (just like it said on my dads case).
So, i do have 2 case numbers for Mom and Dad, though it appears that NVC just accepted 1 i-864 fee for both of them. On the NVC site, if i check either of the case (moms of dads) there is another tab there which says
"the petitioner of this case, BMBXXXX, has also filed at least one other related case which is currently in process at the National Visa Center. The AOS fee payment for this case will satisfy the AOS fee requirement for the related case(s) listed below.
- BMBXXXXX"
Now my question is since they are 2 seperate cases with seperare case number in NVC (But tied some how together) do i need to fill out 2 seperare i-864 forms for each ?? and then in Part 3, question 2, leave that blank ??
Thank you all for your response and help.. Truly apprecaited..
I got the same... filed two separate for both my parents... send two sets of I-864 plus supporting documents....
as to your questions... yes... Part 3... Check yes on Item 1... and on the Item 2... none....then Item 7... just put 1... for each parent... you're not supposed to add the other parent coz you have separate petition for each...
I hope this helps...

Hi Everyone. After the approval that we got from USCIS, what should we expect next?
- Do we wait for something? Until when should we wait?
- Do we need to call anybody? Who, When should we call?
- Documents we need to prepare?
- Anything about next steps after the USCIS approval.
You'll have to wait until NVC emails you about the instructions to pay the AOS fee.
With mine, I had to wait about a month. I called and got the case number and IV number but unless you get their email, you won't be able to access https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ ....
Then as soon as you get it, access the link and pay the AOS fee... then when it shows it is paid... you can send your AOS documents...
I am on that stage now... I sent mine a week ago and still waiting.. I heard NVC said 60 days time frame for AOS documents processing alone... so it's a waiting game still...
Hoping I won't get any checklist... good luck on yours...

You only need your marriage certificate if you don't use your parents' last name... since you said after divorce you have the same last name, then you don't need it...
Marriage certificate is just a proof for a change in last name....

Hi there... What did your Dad bring when he did his medical?
I just sent the AOS documents today and planning to send my parents for an early medical to avoid delay in case they will have to undergo sputum test.
Thanks in advance!
-
Put NA on the first line then on the second line, type the City and the country of the US embassy where your principal immigrant will have her interview...
-
What did you say you put on the line for Part 2 Item 13? I will send mine tomorrow and just want to make sure I did the right thing...
I put number 1 since it is for one immigrant... is that right?
-
I just paid AOS for my mom and dad and you only have to pay $88 for both...
You will see on top of the $88 fee there is a tab which says "Related Cases".
I was signed on my Dad's case when I paid $88 and saw that Related Cases. I clicked it and it says that that $88 I will pay will satisfy AOS of my Mom's case.
So yeah, you only pay one $88 for the two of them.

I've read here from other filers that they got checklist for the simple reason that they didn't put N/A instead of leaving it blank. Did you leave some questions blank?
IR-5 Question
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
The IR-5 visa validity depends on the medical which is 6months valid... It doesn't mean that when the visa was issued it will have 6months validity, it will depend on the medical validity...
When they enter the US, the stamp on their passports which we were told valid for 1yr is their way to get in and out of the country...that was what the immigration officer told us when my parents entered the US...
